Today I am sharing my setlist from this year's Starlight Idol Festival at Anime Weekend Atlanta this past fall! It has been pretty difficult for me to perform this past year as I lost a dear friend who helped me with all of my music, even before I started taking it seriously. They were the ones to help me start taking it seriously. It's been a difficult year performing music they helped me create non stop this year and being surrounded by memories and their own sound through that, so it's been a bit of a slow and difficult time since they've passed. I have been dedicating all of my shows to them since and have been performing the title track they made for my debut E.P. in 2018 "Sekai no Owari de Aimashou" every chance I get. I've changed a lot as a person since losing Charlie (Akira Complex) and kept pushing myself through a lot of things to feel close to them still, but in the end I pushed myself too hard beyond burning myself out. The Worlds Idols - see you soon collaboration - melancholiaah 2020-07-01 | Being primarily an on-stage performer who's events have been cancelled one after another, it's been really hard to keep in touch with those who support me most, the performers around me, everyone. After the "pass the brush" challenge blew up and I participated in a few here and there, I wanted to take it a step further and reach out to some Japanese Pop acts, musicians, idols, performers, whatever you want to call it, and see if anyone would possibly want to join in a project together. When I was sending out emails and inquiries all over the world, I didn't think anyone would want to join in or if they did, it would only be my friends from the USA who would want to join in. Then, I got a submission from Mexico, then the Philippines, then Scotland, and I realized this was more than a small, local collaboration, but an international project. By the end of the 2 months, I realized I had 52 groups and soloists represented from 15 countries and had to extend the chosen song seven different times to fit in all the gradual submissions, which I was beyond happy to do. Everyone in the world is effected by COVID-19 among lots of other issues in our world currently that is keeping people apart from connecting, so having so many performers come together in all the different hardships each country is facing means the world to me. Everyone worked so hard to come together and I thank each and every participant as well as any one who supports any of those represented in this collaboration.
