This is also most likely the only chocolate tofu chickpea pie recipe video on YouTube. It's pretty darn good.Last week I made a lemon tofu chickpea pie which was excellent. I experimented with the recipe this week and learned a few things.In last week's recipe, I added some cornstarch to thicken the pie filling but did not cook it because the original tofu recipe did not cook theirs after they added the cornstarch. However, in my experience in order to activate the cornstarch and make it thick. It's important to cook it.I mixed my ingredients in my Hamilton Beach food processor and then poured the mixture into a microwave container and microwaved it for four minutes then stirred and microwaved again for four minutes and then added the mixture into a store-bought graham cracker crust.I used shelfstable firm tofu but I think you can use regular refrigerated tofu. It's essential to keep your ingredients dry and not too wet. I added my cooked chickpeas to a container lined with paper towels and let it sit in the refrigerator for 24 hours.If pie filling ends up with too much liquid, you can remove a piece of pie, scoop out any liquid on the bottom, and let it sit for a couple of days in the refrigerator. However, if you cook it in the microwave as I did. I'm sure it will get nice and thick.I added some ingredients this week that I don't think I will add in the future. Primarily the coconut oil and packet of chocolate drink. This is a lemon tofu chickpea pie. No bake. No dairy. I used a mini Hamilton beach food processor I got on Amazon for 20 bucks. Hamilton Beach Electric Vegetable Chopper & Mini Food Processor, 3-Cup, 350 Watts, for Dicing, Mincing, and Puree, Black (72850) amzn.to/3RawetxIt's worked surprisingly well. I think this is a wonderful kitchen gadget for people on a budget because you could make so many healthy interesting food recipes with it.The tofu I used is the kind that comes in a box you can keep in the cupboard. I haven't used the regular tofu that is refrigerated. This is a very simple pie to make. The most difficult part is making sure the pie is not too wet. However, if that happens you can let it sit in the refrigerator for a couple days and the liquid will drain to the bottom and the pie filling will firm up.This is the third time I made this pie and it worked out great. I put the chickpeas in the refrigerator for 24 hours on a paper towel in a container and allowed them to dry.Most pies add more sugar than I did but I found 1/2 a cup was sufficient. I Fixed Broken Car Door Handle with JB Weld Saved $200-$300 Robbs Homemade Life 2023-09-02 | How to fix a broken car door handle. If your car door handle breaks off it will take a mechanic 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours of labor to replace your broken car handle with a new car handle. Most car door handles are made of very strong plastic that lasts for years, but sometimes they break off. If you are lucky you may be able to repair the handle inexpensively with JB Weld and a small piece of metal reinforcement.When my car handle broke on my 1994 Toyota Corolla I was going to replace it myself with a new one. I saw several good videos on YouTube on how to replace a broken car door handle, but it required me to purchase a small tool to remove the panel from the interior side of the door. Also, there was a possibility I would not be able to get the lock to work properly after attempting to replace my handle. I called my mechanic and made an appointment to replace my broken car door handle, but then later decided to give JB Weld a try to re-attach my car door handle. I removed the exterior paint roughed up the surface of the plastic with some sandpaper and then wiped it down with alcohol. Then it was simply a matter of adding JB Weld to the broken parts of the handle and attaching a small piece of metal reinforcement.Once the mental part had been secured with the epoxy I added more JB Weld to the part and then attached it to the car door.JB Weld makes several different epoxies and I used one that was made specifically for plastics, but would also work on securing plastic to metal. J-B Weld 50133 Plastic Bonder amzn.to/3qVkEI3This epoxy has a 15-minute set time so it required me to hold the plastic parts together for 15 minutes securely and firmly. That was the most difficult part. Afterward, I let the repair alone for 24 hours before testing to see if it worked. I should mention that I also inserted some thin card stock between the handle and the door to keep any of the epoxy attaching from the handle to the door. I also attached two small pieces of wooden Dowel to the door handle with hot glue which allowed me to hold the broken part of the door handle in a more secure and manageable way.Afterward, I use some silicone spray to lubricate my lock and door mechanisms to keep it from sticking or jamming in the future. It's important to wear gloves and eye protection when working with epoxy.The JB Weld epoxy is actually quite brilliant as it comes in two different containers that are separate and they do not harden after being opened. You should be able to find a lot of uses for this product. If you need to attach metal I would recommend the original JB Weld which is even stronger than this particular epoxy but it has a much longer set time. How to ship an outboard motor using cardboard boxes. And a lot of glue. Robbs Homemade Life 2023-08-30 | I needed to ship a small outboard motor but couldn't find any information online about how to make a shipping container that would support it while being shipped. The motor I was shipping was a 3 hp Yamaha that weighed 39 1/2 pounds.It would've been faster and sturdier to construct a wooden container but I was concerned about making the container too heavy as I had been given inaccurate information regarding the final weight of the box and thought I could not go over 50 pounds. There is a surcharge if I go over 50 pounds but I can go up to 70 pounds.The cardboard box took a long time due to the need to have the glue to dry before assembling other parts.I purchased two U-Haul sport utility boxes that are 48 inches tall and 15" x 15". I cut the boxes down the middle on one end and then used tight bond to wood glue to glue the bottoms together after I fit them to the right size. Then began the long process of gluing one part of the time. I glued one side and held the cardboard down with bricks and heavyweights and then it dried for about eight hours. I would do another side.The motor was protected by cutting out the end of a small storage bin and sliding the shaft of the motor through allowing the heavy part of the motor which is the head of it down inside the storage bin. The motor stuck out above the top of the storage bin so I cut out a hole for it and then encased it in foam one layer at a time. I covered the top with cardboard. Then I wrapped the motor and foam with plastic wrap. I put a small plastic bucket over the propeller and tied it down securely. Having the motor encased in a small storage bin simplified the process of making the shipping container. When the box was finished, I inserted the motor and used some foam to level it on the bottom. Then I folded the top down included and put some weights on it and let it dry. In the end, the box was very sturdy. I put some labels on the box indicating which part was up to help in the shipment and then went to a pack and ship store where they helped me fill out a label and find the least expensive shipping method. I went with UPS. I think UPS has a 70-pound limit for boxes. If the box is over 50 pounds. There is a surcharge. This was a simple process but it took a long time due to the fact that the glue had to dry before it went to the next part. The part that took the longest was deciding on how to make it.Initially, I was going to buy some inflatable beach balls and air mattresses. I saw it for sale at Walmart for just a dollar apiece. This particular roll of Cork was in excellent condition.I found four padded wooden barstools that had very minor damage from being in the rain that could be covered up by adding some trim and that I estimate go for over $100 each. When new.I found a large 48" x 48" thick wooden brown frame that sells for over $100 new.I found a large amount of mirrors in different sizes that can be reused.I found a mahogany storage cabinet in a very convenient size and shape that looks to be midcentury with an interesting design on the front and some metal exposed hardware. There was no damage, but it had been painted and would need to be stripped.Because of the unusual design. I think this piece could be very rewarding for the time spent to get it back into good shape.Finally, I spent a few moments admiring an old friend. I'm not sure what year the VW camper van was but I had a VW camper from 1972 that I drove for years back in the 1980s. I have the oldest car in my neighborhood which is my 1994 Corolla. Walmart Toast Is Da Bomb Robbs Homemade Life 2023-07-25 | A couple of months ago I bought a bag of Walmart toast. It was cheap.Very convenient. Surprisingly useful. The best part was how it did not get mold or stale. It was already solid as a rock. Dry as a bone.I make a lot of sandwich breads from chickpeas or can seafood and it was better than crackers. I also added cheese to it and put it in the microwave for 20 seconds and made wonderful snacks.If I was cooking something in a pan and made gravy afterwards. The gravy was perfect to add over the toast.I'm going to make some cream sauce and add some tuna and have cream tuna on toast.I recommend these large bags of toast from Walmart. Common Causes of Car Noises and Their SolutionsQuestion: What would cause my car to make a clicking noise when I turned the key, but the engine does not start?Answer: Possible causes include a weak battery, starter motor, or ignition system.Screeching – this high pitched noise is due to the power steering belt in the car, which will need adjusting to resolve the issue.Tapping, clattering, or knocking – this sound originates from the engine and is most like caused by the valve lifters or the crankshaft or bearings. Light tapping you may need to adjust the valve clearances, heavy knocking, and maybe a crankshaft bearing issue.Groans or Moans – when steering or turning? If your car has a hydraulic power steering system then the likely cause is a power steering pump. 5 Year Update on $3 Rust Remover Used on My Rusty Raleigh Bicycle Robbs Homemade Life 2023-07-12 | I removed the rust from a rusty junked Raleigh folding bike I found in the trash over 5 years ago. I used a $3 bottle of Turtle Wax Chrome polish and some aluminum foil. When done I waxed the little bike with Maguire's liquid automotive wax. The bike has been stored indoors. The bike still looks crusty but very little rust has returned. I saw a Mazda Six in a bright candy apple red the other day that was amazing. And the Toyota Camry is looking very good. Say Goodbye to Toppling Cameras: Hack Your DJI Osmo Pocket Case for Stability Robbs Homemade Life 2023-06-26 | The DJI Osmo pocket camera falls over if you try to stand it up. The DJI Osmo pocket camera comes with an excellent case.I decided to add some support legs to the case so I could insert the DJI Osmo pocket camera into the case and have it stand up without falling over easily.This is my first design. I did not want to make any cuts or holes in the case or make any permanent changes. I used tape and some card stock to make slots for some legs on the bottom of the case. Initially, I was going to store the legs inside the case. But I decided to make some extra slots for them. So the legs could be stored on the outside of the case.I think epoxy or hot glue would attach the legs in a more permanent fashion. In addition, it should be not difficult to add a grommet to a piece of wood on the bottom to allow it to rotate and extend out to support the case.I was also thinking it might be fun to put some little wheels on the end of the support legs to allow the case to be pulled with the camera or inside to make a little gadget to record videos while the case is being moved.I asked chat GPT to come up with a video description for me and this is what it came up with.In this informative video, we'll show you how to improve the stability and versatility of your DJI Osmo Pocket camera.
