Beyond the busy summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), you’ll find miles of tracks and trails delving deep into forests and winding around dramatic mountain tops.
With over 4,000m of climbing, this route is not for the faint-hearted – but if you’re willing to take on the challenge, the rewards are immense. You’ll be treated to thrilling descents with views stretching for miles, and a sense of isolation only interrupted by the warm hospitality of the villages you pass through.

Meandering along a mix of quiet, mostly flat back roads, byways, cycle paths and bridleways under huge panoramic skies, it’s a fantastic introduction to multi-day, on- and off-road adventuring for anyone.
The route takes its name from two of Norfolk’s most fascinating rebellions: those of Boudicca, the warrior queen who started a revolt against the Romans, and Robert Kett, who led a rebellion in response to the enclosure of common land by wealthy landowners in the 16th century.
Explore beyond the beaten track and discover Norfolk's hidden stories.

The Rebellion Way forms part of the European Regional Development Fund EXPERIENCE project, which aims to develop sustainable off-season tourism activities across six regions in England and France. As part of the project, Cycling UK will also be supporting hospitality businesses along the route to become accredited Cycle Friendly Places, so you know you will be greeted with a warm welcome and everything you need. experience.cyclinguk.org
Developed by charity Cycling UK, the Cantii Way combines quirky coastal towns and dramatic chalk cliffs with the rolling hills of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The 230km circular route uses traffic-free cycle paths, bridleways and quiet roads, and is ideal for touring and hybrid bikes. It’s perfect for a leisurely trip with lots to discover along the way – from remnants of military defences to vibrant art trails and eco-friendly farms.
The ‘garden of England’ is also a haven for food and drink connoisseurs, with a wealth of local produce to sample, fresh seafood, vineyards galore and the pointed white tops of hop-drying oast houses peeking through the trees.

Encouraging parents and families to get involved is vital to creating sustainable behaviour change. That’s why Play Together on Pedals offers family-friendly try out sessions and drop-in activities, so that families that are new to cycling can build confidence, get advice, test equipment and discover local routes.
Since 2014, the project has helped to teach more than 8,000 preschool children in Scotland to ride a bike. This helps them to develop important life skills like coordination and balance. It also breaks down the barriers young people face to participating in physical activity – especially important in areas of health inequalities and multiple deprivation.
In this short video Cycling UK explains four of these key changes, but for more information and to find out how these changes came about visit:

Cycling UK's Cyclist Defence Fund is currently funding our challenge of council's decision to remove a popular cycle lane back in autumn 2020. We hope to set a precedent that will stop other councils from removing the type of infrastructure that helps people cycle in safety.
Donating today won't just help us with this challenge, but will ensure we're ready for tomorrow's battles.

We've asked councillor candidates to pledge their support for two simple asks which would enable more people to cycle – and people to cycle more often. But candidates need to know that this matters to their voters. Help us bring cycling up the agenda by writing to them today.

In the run-up to the Scottish election on the 6th May we need to tell politicians that cycling matters, now and in a future Scotland. To make cycling a real possibility for everyone the next Scottish Government must:
Invest more money in cycling
Create safe space for people to cycle, walk and wheel
Enable people who live in rural communities to cycle
Add your voice to this call now. Click on the link to tell party leaders that cycling matters…
…. and that cycling must be for everyone.

Sarah, who has 15 years’ experience working in the charity sector, joined the organisation in October at a time she described as a ‘moment of history’ as cycling rates soared through 2020.
She says the challenge in 2021 is to build on those numbers and to inspire and help even more people onto bikes.
She said: “It’s a huge honour to be starting this role at a time when cycling has increased across the whole of the UK. I hope together in 2021 we can build on this and get even more people out on their bikes.”
Sarah also talked about her frustration at losing her daily commute because of lockdown restrictions, a frustration felt by many cyclists who’ve seen club rides restricted and the social side of riding curbed.
“Like you, I love cycling. I’ve been cycling across London every morning for the last 17 years on my commute so it's been a little frustrating to lose that to the pandemic,” she said.
And she also paid tribute to the hard work of Cycling UK’s members, supporters, volunteers and groups.
“We know that for many people, concerns about safety, particularly road safety can be a huge issue. That’s why our campaigning work is so important. That's why it's essential we work as we do with local government and national governments on trying to make changes and improve safety on the roads and cycle infrastructure.
“But of course, that’s only part of the solution because we also need to change attitudes. That's why our work, for example, on the Big Bike Revival project in England and a lot of our Scottish work is so important.
“I’m keenly aware that none of this would be possible without you – our members, volunteers, supporters and groups wherever you are in the United Kingdom whether that's Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland or England.
“You are our lifeblood. You are our voice and you help us achieve lasting change,” Sarah said.
