Battlefront II The Old Republic REMASTERED Mod Utapau Classic Collection
updated
Star Wars Battlefront II features a single-player story mode, a customizable character class system, and content based on The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi movies. It also features vehicles and locations from the original, prequel, and sequel Star Wars movie trilogies. It also features heroes and villains that can be played based on characters from the Star Wars movies; the hero roster includes Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Yoda, Rey, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett, Bossk, Iden Versio, Darth Maul, and Kylo Ren at launch.
The game features a full campaign story mode unlike 2015's Battlefront. The game's single player protagonist, Iden Versio, leader of an Imperial Special Forces group known as Inferno Squad (Janina Gavankar), participates in multiple events in the 30 years leading up to The Force Awakens. There will be segments in the campaign where the player will be able to control other characters such as Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren.
Iden Versio, a captive on the Rebel Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Invincible Faith, is interrogated by the starship's captain, who implores Iden to hand over secret codes to unlock an intercepted Imperial transmission. Iden refuses and awaits as her droid sneaks through the star cruiser's ventilation systems and frees her from her cell. The Rebels are unaware that Iden allowed herself to be captured in order to erase the transmission, thus not allowing the Emperor's plan to be compromised. Iden successfully erases the transmission, triggering an alarm that alerts the Rebel troopers on the ships of her escape. Iden fights her way through the ship, eventually reaching a hangar and launching herself into space where she is intercepted by the Corvus, the flagship of Inferno Squad. Before the Rebel Star Cruiser can fire, the Corvus jumps into hyperspace. Iden walks to the bridge and confirms the mission's success to Gideon Hask and Del Meeko. A time jump occurs to the Battle of Endor depicted in Return of the Jedi, where Admiral Garrick Versio witnesses the destruction of the Executor and death of Admiral Piett. On Endor, Iden, Hask, and Meeko secure the perimeter around the ruined shield generator, and watch with shock and horror as the second Death Star explodes. Vice Admiral Sloane orders a full retreat, leaving Imperial stormtroopers and ground forces stranded on Endor, though Admiral Versio awaits as Inferno Squad recover TIE fighters and escape the planet, which is being overrun by Rebel forces. The Corvus is attacked during their escape, but Inferno fends off Rebel bombers. Iden meets with her father on his Star Destroyer Eviscerator while Hask and Meeko remain on the Corvus.
Above Vardos, Admiral Versio presents a Messenger droid to his daughter and confirms to Iden that the Emperor has died. The Messenger droid, donned in red robes reminiscent of the Emperor's royal guard, displays a hologram of the late Emperor issuing his last command: to begin Operation: Cinder at once. Iden attempts to ask what their target is, but the Messenger refuses to communicate with her, stating that she is not verified. Admiral Versio sends his daughter to an Imperial shipyard above Fondor to protect Moff Raythe and his Star Destroyer Dauntless, which hosts experimental satellites vital to the success of Operation: Cinder. At Fondor, the Dauntless comes under attack from a Rebel Star Cruiser, but Iden is able to board the Rebel starship with Hask and disable its ion cannons. Afterwards, they are ordered by Moff Raythe to attack the Imperial shipyard itself, which Iden is skeptical of, but nevertheless follows his orders and frees his Star Destroyer from the locked clamps. Afterwards, the Dauntless opens fire on the Rebel cruiser, destroying it.

Battles of the Clone Wars:
The aim of this project is to give Star Wars Battlefront II players the feeling of the TCW show but still experiencing the classic gameplay style the always loved. New "modern" features will be included by the way (like recoil or health regeneration) but the core and the spirit of the game will be not touched. New maps will be included thanks to the permission of many good modders you already know (Umbara: Shadow Forest, Coruscant: Modern Warfare, Attack on Venator, etc.) and new amazing characters models, visual effects and weapons.
Death Star Rezzed 1.1 by HarrisonFog:
This is part of a larger Graphics Improvement project/mod for Star Wars Battlefront and the first of the Realistic Maps Map Pack. Death Star with HD textures, hopefully I'll do some more maps in the future. Please use with my graphics mod.
Changelist:
Improved ambience lighting
Objects have more depth
Improved light reflections and light fx
Further improved the textures
Darker look, like in the movie. Also greyish, not that strange cartoonish blue from vanilla.
Star Wars: Battlefront II is a first and third-person shooter video game developed by Pandemic Studios, and published by LucasArts. The game is the sequel to the successful Star Wars: Battlefront and features new vehicles, characters, game mechanics, maps, and missions. The game was released in PAL regions on October 31, 2005 on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox platforms, and in North America on November 1 of the same year. It was later updated to be backwards compatible for the Xbox 360. It was also released on the PlayStation Store on October 20, 2009 for download on the PSP.
Unlike its predecessor, Battlefront II features a more narrative-based campaign, retelling portions of the Star Wars story from the point of view of a veteran Imperial stormtrooper, reminiscing about his tour of duty in service of both the Galactic Republic and as part of the Galactic Empire. Gameplay additions over Battlefront include the use of Jedi, additional game modes, and objective-based space battles.
Battlefront II was fairly well received, with the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions scoring in the mid 80s at aggregators GameRankings and Metacritic. The PC version scored slightly lower at both sites, scoring a 76.60% at GameRankings and 78 at Metacritic. The PSP version was the worst received, scoring 70.93% at GameRankings and 69 at Metacritic. Reviewers generally praised the narrative-based story; however, some felt that the upgrades from the original were not enough to merit the price.
GameSpy Technology scheduled a shut down across all titles using the service for May 31, 2014, which included Star Wars: Battlefront II for PC, PS2, and Xbox. However, Electronic Arts had prevented this from happening, as they've announced that for a few titles, GameSpy functionality would remain active until June 30, 2014. The extended support offered by EA had ended on July 25, 2014, taking all GameSpy online video games across all platforms, offline. Battlefront II is fundamentally similar to its predecessor, albeit with the addition of new gameplay mechanics. The general objective in most missions is to eliminate the enemy faction. Like Star Wars Battlefront, the game is split into two eras, the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War. Players have the ability to choose between six classes during gameplay. Four class types are common to all factions; infantry, heavy weapon, sniper and engineer. In addition to the four standard classes, each faction has two unique classes which unlock by scoring a predetermined number of points. For the Rebellion faction, the Bothan Spy and the Wookie; for the Empire, The Officer and The Dark Trooper; for the Republic, the Commander and the Jet Trooper; and for the CIS, the Magnaguard and the Droideka. Battlefront II also features heroes - a special class that allows the player to control iconic characters from the Star Wars universe. Heroes serve as a bonus to players, and are unlocked by meeting certain criteria, such as earning a certain number of points. Differences between Battlefront II and its predecessor include the ability to sprint and the ability to roll forwards.

Campaign
Whereas Star Wars: Battlefront 's campaign featured missions dependent on the chosen faction, Battlefront II contains only one campaign, called Rise of the Empire, which is found in every version of the game except the PSP. This set of missions is presented as the narration of a veteran of the 501st Legion, known as Vader's Fist, beginning with an attack on the planet Mygeeto during the Clone Wars and ending with the assault on Hoth as depicted in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. There are a total of 18 missions, four of which are optional space missions.
The PSP version of Battlefront II does not feature the BRise of the Empire campaign. Instead it features three single-player Challenge modes; Imperial Enforcer, Rogue Assassin, and Rebel Raider. In Imperial Enforcer the player is sent to eliminate indigenous species on several given planets, such as Gungans on Naboo and Ewoks on Endor.[8] Rogue Assassin requires the player to eliminate all Imperial officers on a given sets of planets.

Rhen Var was a planet with frigid environments located near the Galidraan system. During the galaxy-spanning conflict known as the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic deployed Clone cold assault troopers on the world; troops specifically equipped to deal with cold environments. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, an Imperial outpost was located on Rhen Var. After the stolen Imperial corvette Carrion Spike attacked Imperial facilities in the Galidraan star system, the planet's outpost was considered as one of the potential targets for the corvette by Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. Due to the relative unimportance of the outpost on Rhen Var, Tarkin decided that the Imperial assets on the planet Nam Chorios were a more likely choice for the rebel cell piloting the stolen starship.

The Battle of Geonosis, also referred to as the First Battle of Geonosis, was the first major battle fought in 22 BBY between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic, marking the beginning of the three-year Clone Wars. It would be the first major combat of the Grand Army of the Republic, as well as the first major battle the Jedi would fight in years. The battle also marked the death of the notorious bounty hunter Jango Fett.
Twenty-two years before the Battle of Yavin, the Galactic Republic was in the depths of a catastrophe. Thousands of star systems and groups including the Trade Federation, InterGalactic Banking Clan, Techno Union, Commerce Guild and the Corporate Alliance, had left the Republic and united with the Confederacy of Independent Systems under the direction of the former Jedi Count Dooku as terrorist strikes hit the capital planet Coruscant. The Republic Congress prepared to meet that year to consider the Military Creation Act.
The day of the vote, Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo landed on Coruscant to oppose the Act and survived an assassination attempt. At the request of Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker were assigned to her security detail. Kenobi pursued the trail of the toxic dart which ended the life of the assassin while Skywalker accompanied the senator back to Naboo.
Kenobi followed the suggestion from his friend Dexter Jettster to the planet Kamino, which had been deleted from the Jedi Archives by an anonymous force. There he learned that ten years prior, Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas had arranged for a purchase of a clone trooper army. During the tour, he met the bounty hunter Jango Fett. Kenobi revealed the new information back to the Jedi High Council and decided to go after Fett, speculating that he was a part of the assassination attempt. They fought on a landing platform, and Kenobi was able to fix a homing beacon on Fett's ship, Slave I
Kenobi traced Fett to Geonosis. His ship only just dodged a homing torpedo, and he landed on the surface. He snuck into a facility and watched a meeting of Separatist Council, where it was revealed that Viceroy Nute Gunray of the Trade Federation was leading Amidala's assassination attempt. Kenobi reported back to the Jedi Council but was ambushed and taken captive by Droidekas. His signal was rerouted through Amidala's ship on Tatooine, as she and Skywalker had traveled there in a failed attempt to rescue his mother. Meanwhile, Dooku spoke with the captive Kenobi to try to gain him as an ally. Kenobi declined, and Dooku implied it would be difficult for him to secure his release.
Skywalker and Amidala traveled to Geonosis to rescue Kenobi but were captured in the Geonosian droid factories. The two were sentenced to execution in the Petranaki arena along with Kenobi. They narrowly escaped their executions, which involved an Acklay, a Nexu, and a reek.
In response to Kenobi's report about the Separatists' plot, the Galactic Senate, at the proposal of Junior Representative Jar Jar Binks, granted Chancellor Palpatine "emergency powers" to handle the catastrophe.
Jedi Grand Master Yoda traveled to Kamino to gather the clone army and send them to Geonosis right behind a Jedi strike force

Otoh Gunga, also known as simply Gungan City, or Gunga City was a Gungan city located beneath the surface of Lake Paonga on the planet of Naboo. Its bubble-like buildings were in fact hydrostatic force-fields that contained breathable atmospheres for their occupiers, and had special portals that allowed its inhabitants to enter and exit. Since the Gungans actually grew the building material of their cities from the natural plasma of Naboo and bubble wort extract, the structure of Otoh Gunga was a hub and spoke network. The city notably housed the High Council, which ruled over the Gungans from the High Board Room. The city was originally built by the Gungans in order to avoid contact with their surface-dwelling Naboo neighbors. When the Trade Federation invaded Naboo, their armies stormed the swamps, forcing the Gungans to abandon Otoh Gunga.
Following the Naboo Sieges during the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic starfighter pilot Yendor invited his fellow Corona Squadron mates to dine in Otoh Gunga. The city's residents were said to be able to produce a dessert that took at least four hominids to consume. This dessert was said to deliver one into a straight sugar coma. However, one of the pilots, Thane Kyrell, elected not to join his mates because he was still mourning the loss of his former Imperial Academy classmate Ciena Ree, whom he believed had perished during the Battle of Endor.
Shaak Ti was a female Togruta Jedi Master and member of the Jedi Council who served the Jedi Order in the waning years of the Galactic Republic. During the three-year conflict of the Clone Wars, she took the rank of Jedi General and supervised the training of the Republic's Clone troopers on Kamino. Ti was killed whilst meditating during the attack on the Jedi Temple by Darth Vader.

A word from mod creator:
"Hello I'm lorul1 creator of Battles of the Storm. Welcome to my Assault on Theed Alpha project for Star Wars Battlefront 2 2005 !!
Making Battles of the Storm was so much fun and hearing everyone reaction to size and scale of the battles was an awesome experance.
What made Battles of the Storm good was that you were a single unit placed in a 100+ vs 100+ battle and you really get a sense of all out WAR.
All out war is what I do best
After watching the alpha footage of battlefront 2 EA, I was impressed. Of course EA did well with graphics and sound design again. But the only problem that I saw with their Assault on Theed is that it didn't seem big enough ... it wasn't a war. When I think of the clone wars I think of the thousands of clones battling on Geonosis, or the hundreds of droids storming the beach of kashyyyk with so many laser and missiles everywhere. Star wars battles especially clone wars battles ARE over the top, chaotic , and have hundreds of clones. As I am writing this EA's Beta for BF2 is not out yet and I also did not get to play the alpha so keep that in mind -but to me , as of right now EA's Theed seem's ... empty. Which is why today you have the ability to play on my assault on Theed map with 100+ clones holding off and invasion of 100+ droids. This makes for over the top chaotic battles. I mean isn't that what an ASSAULT should look like ?
Now yes I know the game isn't even out and that was only an alpha and yes chances are that (hopfully) this game will come with an "XL" or "battlefield 1 operations" type mode, but I want my message to DICE and EA to be that we want large scale clone wars battles JUST like we saw on TV and in the Movies ! We want to be IN the battles and that means chaos and scale (bigger maps and higher player and vehicle count).
I want as many people as possible to play this early alpha guys ! If you have a friend who plays battlefront - share this map with him. Are you running a YouTube channel ? PLEASE make a video to share with you'r viewers ! Does your mom play battlefront ? Tell her about It ! Does your pet fish like battlefront ? tell him too !! Lets spread the news everyone guys !!"
The Battle of Naboo, also known by names such as the Battle of the Great Grass Plains and the Assault on Theed, was the final conflict of the Invasion of Naboo that occurred in 32 BBY. Queen Padmé Amidala of the Naboo formulated the plan to end the invasion, enlisting the help of the Gungan Grand Army to stage a diversion while the Queen battled to retake the planet's capitol and capture the Trade Federation's Viceroy, Nute Gunray. As the Gungans engaged the Trade Federation Droid Army on the Great Grass Plains, Amidala's strike force infiltrated the capital city of Theed, and also freed the pilots of Bravo Flight to engage the Lucrehulk-class Droid Control Ship Vuutun Palaa in orbit, which controlled the Trade Federation's droid army. The battle came to an end when the young boy Anakin Skywalker destroyed the Control Ship, disabling the Federation's forces, and Amidala captured Viceroy Gunray in Theed

Boba Fett
Boba Fett was a male human bounty hunter, and the genetic clone of infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett. Boba was created by the cloners on Kamino and was physically identical to the clone troopers created for the Grand Army of the Republic, though Boba was unaltered and did not grow at the same accelerated rate as the other clones. Raised as Jango's son, Boba learned the combat skills necessary to one day become a bounty hunter in his own right.
Darth Vader
Darth Vader, also known by his birth name Anakin Skywalker, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Vader appears in the original film trilogy as a pivotal antagonist whose actions drive the plot, while his past as Anakin Skywalker and the story of his corruption are central to the narrative of the prequel trilogy.
The character was created by George Lucas and has been portrayed by numerous actors. His appearances span the first six Star Wars films, as well as Rogue One, and his character is heavily referenced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He is also an important character in the Star Wars expanded universe of television series, video games, novels, literature and comic books. Originally a Jedi prophesied to bring balance to the Force, he falls to the dark side of the Force and serves the evil Galactic Empire at the right hand of his Sith master, Emperor Palpatine (also known as Darth Sidious). He is also the father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, secret husband of Padmé Amidala and grandfather of Kylo Ren.
Greedo
Greedo was a male Rodian bounty hunter who grew up on Tatooine in Mos Espa. During the Clone Wars, he was hired by the Trade Federation to kidnap Chi Eekway Papanoida and Che Amanwe Papanoida, the daughters of Chairman Papanoida, but was forced by the chairman to lead him and his son Ion to them. He was occasionally hired by crimelord Jabba the Hutt for various mercenary jobs, including the capture of Han Solo, who killed the luckless Rodian.

"Utapau has long been a target of the Separatists. Dooku and Grievous haven't been able to make inroads with the Pau'ans or the Utai, but if they can enlist the Amani to revolt from within, that could cause dangerous civil unrest."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi[src]
Hundreds of years before the Clone Wars, the native Pau'ans lived on Utapau's surface while the Utai colonists lived underground. Eventually, worsening hyperwind storms forced the Pau'ans to move underground with the Utai, building combined cities into the ledges of giant sinkholes. Stripped of trees by the violent winds of the surface, the new cities were built with numerous animal bones, eventually resembling giant animal skeletons to the casual observer. With the planets groundwater having slowly drained into a giant ocean underneath the planets surface long ago, fresh water was extracted from machines that purified the seawater and also separated any valuable minerals from the ocean.
During the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were sent to investigate the death of Jedi Master Tu-Anh. This led them to locate a massive kyber crystal that the Confederacy of Independent Systems was attempting to acquire. They were able to destroy the crystal before it could fall into Separatist hands.
During the final days of the Clone Wars, a number of key Separatist leaders were stationed on the planet, but were moved to a fortified bunker on Mustafar prior to the battle on the orders of Darth Sidious. General Grievous remained on Utapau to oversee the battle, but met his end at the hands of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"There it is, R4. Right where it should be. Our missing planet, Kamino."
Kamino , called Big Stormy by some clone troopers, also known as the Planet of Storms,[10] was the watery world where the Clone Army of the Galactic Republic was created, as well as the Kamino Home Fleet. It was inhabited by a race of tall, elegant beings called the Kaminoans, who kept to themselves and were known for their cloning technology. Kamino was located just south of the Rishi Maze, and was governed by the Ruling Council, headed by the Prime Minister.
Kamino was in a system of 13 planets orbiting an aging star south of the Rishi Maze, a dwarf satellite galaxy in a decaying orbit in a loose sector of an unnamed grouping of stars between the Rishi Maze and the main galaxy. The stormy water world of Kamino was located in the Wild Space region beyond the Outer Rim. It was the fifth of the thirteen planets in the system. The planet orbited an aging star called Kamino and had three moons orbiting the planet itself, including Korasa. The planet was composed of a molten core with a rocky mantle and silicate rock crust. Climatic change had long ago submerged the planet's continents, drowning the planet under a global ocean that covered almost all of the surface, with a few islands left that were once mountain tops. These mountain-tips, though, were rained on almost incessantly. However, the surface of Kamino was not always subject to constant rain, as such was in a Separatist attack to gain a DNA sample of Jango Fett. Its savage storms and powerful lightning bursts could be seen vaguely through its relatively thick atmosphere. Although technically part of Wild Space region in the galaxy, it is sometimes referred to as an extra-galactic planet due to its system being located between the main galaxy and the Rishi Maze dwarf galaxy.

Chewbacca, known affectionately to his friends as Chewie, was a Wookiee warrior, smuggler, and resistance fighter who fought in the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance. He hailed from the planet Kashyyyk and became a Wookiee military leader. During the Clone Wars, he was captured by Trandoshan slavers and held captive on Wasskah, but he worked with a fellow captive, Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano, to escape. He later commanded Wookiee forces during the Battle of Kashyyyk alongside the Grand Army of the Republic, led by Jedi Master Yoda. During the battle, one of the last ones of the war, Yoda's clone troopers received Order 66 from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and, with the help of Chewbacca, Yoda escaped Kashyyyk and the destruction of the Jedi Order.
In the years that followed, during the rule of the Galactic Empire, Chewbacca became a smuggler and the co-pilot of Captain Han Solo aboard the Millennium Falcon. They worked in the employ of crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure until Solo was forced to dump a shipment of spice to avoid trouble with the Empire, at which point a bounty was placed on their heads. Soon thereafter, Chewbacca and Solo were hired by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi to ferry him, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2 to Alderaan on a mission vital to the survival of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. After finding Alderaan was destroyed, the group was brought aboard the Death Star, where they helped Princess Leia Organa escape from captivity and return to the Rebel base on Yavin 4. Though Chewbacca and Solo initially chose to leave Yavin 4 and not join the Rebellion, they ended up fighting in the Battle of Yavin and were instrumental in Skywalker's destruction of the Death Star, a major victory for the Rebellion.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, later known as Ben Kenobi during his exile, was a Force-sensitive human male Jedi Master who served the Galactic Republic. He was mentor to both Anakin Skywalker and his son, Luke, training them in the ways of the Force.
Born on the planet Stewjon, Kenobi was taken as the Padawan learner of Qui-Gon Jinn. Kenobi became the first Jedi in a millennium to defeat a Sith Lord when he defeated Darth Maul during the Battle of Naboo. During the battle, Jinn was mortally wounded by Maul, and perished in Kenobi's arms. At Jinn's behest, Kenobi took Anakin Skywalker to be his own Padawan, training him during the decade leading up to the Clone Wars.
During the Clone Wars, Skywalker was made a Jedi Knight while Kenobi (as a result of his military successes in the Outer Rim) was granted the title of Master and named to the Jedi Council. The two Jedi fought alongside each other as generals many times. In the last days of the Clone Wars, Skywalker turned to the dark side, betraying the Jedi. Skywalker's new Sith Master, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, used Order 66 to destroy the Jedi Order, though Kenobi survived and reunited with another survivor, Grand Master Yoda. Kenobi confronted Skywalker, who had now taken the name Darth Vader, on Mustafar, and the two dueled. Kenobi emerged the victor, gravely wounding Vader and remorsefully leaving him for dead. However, as Palpatine established the Galactic Empire in place of the Galactic Republic, Vader was rehabilitated, though he was forced to rely on a cybernetic suit for life support. Kenobi went into exile on Tatooine, where he would watch over Vader's newborn son, Luke Skywalker, who he took to live with his aunt and uncle, Beru and Owen Lars.
Seventeen years later, he eventually confronted his old enemy Maul, who he again defeated in a brief duel. As the former Sith lay dying in Kenobi's arms, the two finally made peace, and Maul stated that Luke would avenge them both.
Two years after the death of Maul, Kenobi received a message via R2-D2 from Leia Organa asking for help in the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Empire. The droid contained the plans to the Death Star, a battle station created by the Empire capable of destroying planets, and the plans needed to be taken to Bail Organa on Alderaan. After Luke Skywalker's aunt and uncle were killed by Imperial forces searching for the plans, Skywalker agreed to join Kenobi on this mission and be trained as a Jedi. The pair were taken to Alderaan by Han Solo, only for them to discover that the planet had been destroyed by the Death Star. Their ship, the Millennium Falcon, was captured by the Death Star's tractor beam, and Kenobi was confronted by Darth Vader. Vader and Kenobi dueled again, and Kenobi allowed Vader to kill him so that Luke and his companions could escape the Death Star.
In the following years, as Luke continued fighting for the Rebel Alliance, Kenobi continued to give him guidance as a Force spirit, including directing Luke to the planet Dagobah, where Luke received training from one of Obi-Wan's Masters, Yoda.

Galactic Marine:
The Galactic Marines were a prominent military unit of clone troopers noted for their unique armor and relentlessness in combat. The marines served in the Grand Army of the Republic under the leadership of Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi and Clone Commander 1138. Prior to the conclusion of the Clone Wars, the marines fought the Separatist droid forces in the Assault on Mygeeto where they received Order 66, causing Mundi's marines to betray and kill him on the battlefield.
Jango was killed during the Battle of Geonosis, which sparked the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The young boy swore vengeance against Jedi Master Mace Windu, who killed Jango, and teamed with a group of bounty hunters that included Aurra Sing and Bossk. Their plot to kill Windu failed, and Boba realized that he had gone too far in trying to kill the Jedi Master—but he vowed never to forgive Windu. After serving a brief prison sentence, Boba formed a team of bounty hunters and took on a number of missions.
During the rise of the Galactic Empire, Boba gained a reputation as one of the galaxy's deadliest bounty hunters. His distinctive Mandalorian armor helped keep stories about the Mandalorians alive in the galaxy after the Empire's subjugation of the planet Mandalore. By the time of the Galactic Civil War, Boba worked for Jabba the Hutt. Shortly after the Battle of Hoth, Boba and other bounty hunters were gathered by Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, to locate Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon, hoping to use them to lure Luke Skywalker into a trap. The plot was successful, and Boba took Solo, who was frozen in carbonite, to Tatooine to collect the bounty that Jabba had placed on him.
After Solo's friends in the Alliance to Restore the Republic mounted a rescue on Tatooine, a battle broke out over the Great Pit of Carkoon. Boba fought against the Rebel rescuers and was inadvertently knocked into the sarlacc.

The Blockade of Yavin (0 ABY)
The Gordian Reach was the site of a tense few months of operations as the Rebels defied the Yavin blockade.
"By the time we landed on Yavin, whatever shock we'd felt at the destruction of the Death Star had been replaced by anger. For months we'd treated the Rebellion like a disobedient child, only to be repaid for our tolerance with treachery on an unimaginable scale. Frankly, I don't remember much of the fighting. I guess we won."
Entry from the Journal of the 501st detailing the Imperial attack.
The Battle of Yavin gave the Rebel Alliance credibility as a legitimate military threat to the Empire. With the Death Star's loss over Yavin, the Destruction of Alderaan and the murder of billions was no longer an object lesson, but a rallying cry for the resistance. The Empire began to rely increasingly more on acts of terror to stamp out dissent, for example, the release of the Candorian plague on Dentaal. In the Tion Hegemony, Clariv was subjugated for Rebel sympathies.
The Rebel commanders knew that their celebrations would be short-lived. Because of the destruction of the Death Star, the Empire would focus all of its military might into destroying the Rebels. Preparations were made for a full-scale evacuation of Massassi Station and relocation to another secure hideout. The Empire expected the Rebels to flee Yavin immediately, but instead much of the base remained intact. Jan Dodonna supervised evacuation efforts, but while some heavy equipment and critical supplies were removed, he convinced Mon Mothma that most of the base's personnel and equipment could be hastily evacuated at short notice. He saw making a stand on Yavin 4 as a powerful statement of defiance and a recruiting tool.
In turn, the Empire countered with a propaganda effort of its own: just prior to Yavin, the planet Ord Biniir had been taken by a force of Rebel Y-wings. The second squadron of the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing, led by Captain Soontir Fel, was sent to retake the planet. Under Fel's expert leadership, the Second Battle of Ord Biniir was an utter rout. But for the fact it had happened on the same day as the Battle of Yavin, Ord Biniir would have been a terrible Rebel defeat. However, the Empire heavily-publicized the victory to distract from Yavin, and Fel was publicly promoted to Major and given de facto command of his unit, which was rebuilt as an elite group. The 181st Imperial Fighter Group would become one of the most celebrated units of the Galactic Empire's Starfighter Corps, and one of the most feared by the Alliance.
The Imperial Navy established a loose blockade around the Yavin system, but it was complicated by a lack of ships. The starfleet was spread thin searching for the roving Alliance Fleet, and to commit too many ships to Yavin would allow the Rebels to make major strikes elsewhere and make the Empire look impotent. Alternatively, if too few were committed, Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar might arrive in strength to break the blockade and win a second battle of Yavin. Darth Vader, meanwhile, was committed to leading the attack on Yavin personally from the bridge of his nearly-complete Star Dreadnought Executor, a colossal warship designed to be so powerful that its mere existence would pacify multiple sectors. As the Executor was completed, the blockade would fix the Rebels in place

The Battle of Umbara took place during the Clone Wars on the planet Umbara. It was also the event during which the treason of Jedi General Pong Krell was revealed, whose ultimate goal was recognition by Count Dooku to become his new apprentice.
The Separatists started to tighten their grip over vital and isolated supply routes. Following the death of Umbara's senator, Mee Deechi Senate Murders", the Umbarans then left the Republic and committed their militia to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Republic then sent Jedi Master Pong Krell, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Jedi Council members Obi-Wan Kenobi and Saesee Tiin to retake Umbara with their troops.
Northern landing
Spearheaded by Z-95 Headhunters of the 327th star corps led by Jedi Commanders Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee, the Republic forces broke through the Separatist blockade. As they made their landing Kenobi spoke to Skywalker, Cody, Rex and their troops to discuss their strategy. Masters Krell's and Tiin's troops would be supporting Kenobi's 212th Attack Battalion in the south, while Skywalker's 501st Legion would come in from the north, and take out enemy reinforcements. The main objective was to conquer the capital as quickly as possible and hold it. As the Acclamator assault ship entered the atmosphere, the ground forces were deployed in gunships protected by the Headhunters. 42069 The gunships also deployed numerous AT-RTs that were able to charge the Umbaran Militia's hover tanks and destroy them. Skywalker's troops then landed and moved towards a ridge, fighting the Umbarans and forcing them to retreat. However, one of troopers, Hardcase, was almost eaten by a Vixus. Hardcase was then saved by ARC Trooper Fives.
At the ridge, the clones then entrenched themeselvs. However, the Umbarans ambushed them by using a Millicreep droid to distract them. The Umbarans then circled around the clones' encampment. Skywalker then called in Odd Ball to bombard the area with Y-wings to wipe out the Umbarans.
As Skywalker forces regrouped for the attack on the Capital, Master Krell arrived with orders from the Jedi Council ordering him to return to Coruscant at the Supreme Chancellor's request. Skywalker reluctantly followed the orders and command of the 501st went to Krell. Krell then ordered the 501st to march onward towards the capital. En route, the clones came under attack by a pair of Banshees. They then resumed the march after Krell killed the last one. When the 501st reached the outskirts of the capital, Krell decided to launch a full forward assault on the capital along the main road, despite Rex's objections. However, they walked into a Minefield, that killed Oz and Ringo. Fives was then able to find a way through the field. The 501st then came under attack by the Umbarans, holding their ground despite being exposed. Rex then ordered a retreat to rejoin Krell and his troops. Together, they were able repel the Umbarans. Krell was disappointed at Rex for not holding the road, but was convinced that Rex and Fives did what was best for their men. Rex and the 501st then fought the Umbarans counterattack.

The Battle of Endor was a decisive battle of the Galactic Civil War, one in which the Alliance to Restore the Republic shattered the rule of the Galactic Empire and saw the destruction of the Death Star II and the deaths of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader. The triumph of the Alliance over the Empire, and the void left in the wake of the Emperor's demise, gave the Alliance the opportunity to give rise to the New Republic, which ultimately prevailed over the Empire in the Battle of Jakku one year later. The legacy of the Battle of Endor reverberated for decades after the fighting ended, including into the brewing war between the Imperial-inspired First Order and the Resistance that arose to combat it.
The origins of the Battle of Endor emerged from the discovery that the Empire was using the Forest Moon of Endor as a staging ground to construct a second Death Star, the first of which had been destroyed four years earlier during the Battle of Yavin. Bothan spies employed by the Alliance gained the intelligence needed to determine the Death Star's location and learn that the emperor himself planned on personally overseeing the final phases of construction, though the Alliance was unaware that this was an elaborate plot to destroy Luke Skywalker, a Jedi and the son of Darth Vader, and the Alliance itself once and for all. star wars return of the jedi episode 6
Star Wars Battlefront is an action game played from either a first-person or third-person view; players can switch at any time, similarly to the previous games. Players traverse planets from the Star Wars universe, such as Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and the newly introduced planet of Sullust. To navigate the world, players use a variety of vehicles, including both air and land-based vehicles.[9] Battles are planet-based, restricting players from exploring space. The game's weapons, characters, gear and abilities are customizable.[10] As new weapons are unlocked, players have the ability to share them with their teammates.[9] Battlefront will not feature iron sights.
The game lets players choose to control either a Rebel Alliance soldier or an Imperial Stormtrooper. There will also be playable characters from the films, such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett, as well as non-playable characters, such as R2-D2 and C-3PO.[13] The game includes cooperative missions which can be played offline but does not have a campaign mode. Players can complete the missions both independently and with bots or another player; the game supports split screen on consoles. The game's online multiplayer mode supports up to 40 players in one match and 12 multiplayer maps will be available at launch. These maps will feature five locations from the Star Wars universe - Hoth, Tatooine, Endor, Sullust and Jakku.

Bossk was a male Trandoshan bounty hunter and the son of Cradossk who was known for hunting Wookiees. During the Clone Wars, Bossk worked alongside fellow hunters Aurra Sing and Castas to mentor the orphaned Boba Fett. Their scheme to kill Fett's hated enemy Mace Windu resulted in Fett and Bossk's arrest. After a stint in prison, Bossk worked in Fett's syndicate of bounty hunters, taking jobs for clients including Otua Blank and Asajj Ventress.
After the rise of the Empire, Bossk traveled to the Outer Rim planet of Lothal to collect a bounty on the Dug criminal Gronson Takkaro, who had jumped bail in the Ahakista system. During his Lothal trip, Bossk also joined forces with the Force-sensitive street urchin Ezra Bridger to stop the corrupt Imperial Security Bureau Lieutenant Jenkes. Following the Battle of Hoth, Bossk would be called upon by Darth Vader to find and capture the Millennium Falcon.

Heroes vs Villains is a game mode with short, intense rounds where iconic Star Wars characters will clash in dynamic fights. The matches are divided into rounds, where three players from each team randomly spawn as the Heroes and Villains of Star Wars Battlefront. In other words, you’ll see characters like Luke Skywalker face off against Darth Vader and Boba Fett, along with other Heroes and Villains that we’ll announce soon.
The rest of your team spawn as Rebels or Imperial troopers, making it a 6 versus 6 game mode total. When a Hero or Villain is defeated, that player will respawn as a regular trooper. Your team’s objective is to defeat all the opposing Heroes or Villains, or conversely have the highest number of Hero or Villain characters alive at the end of the round. In other words: both offence and defense is required.
How players tackle Heroes vs Villains tends to change based on their skill level. When beginners first try it, the three Hero and Villain characters usually clash in the middle of the map right away. But, as players get more experienced they realize that there are more subtle ways to play. They stay close to the Hero and Villain characters who can share health pickups, or go for the opponent’s supportive Hero first. There are a lot of tactics in there as well.
Personally, I’ve had loads of fun playing Heroes vs Villains on Homestead on Tatooine. You’ll see some clearly defined paths here: the Empire’s characters will spawn outside the homestead while the Heroes will start off in the control room. Action will mainly take place in the main hangar where you’ll see a parked Millennium Falcon. The Imperial troops might find it hard to attack through the main entrance here but once they find the alternative paths, a great cat-and-mouse game will occur.
So what’s it like playing as the three ground troopers? Well, you’re up against some pretty powerful foes so expect to be considered, well, expendable. That said, you’ll notice that the opposing team’s Hero or Villain characters rarely are after you – they’re chasing their powerful counterparts! And just because you’re not currently playing as a Hero doesn’t mean there’s no room for heroic deeds. Find a powerful pickup like the Smart Rocket and deal a healthy amount of damage to Darth Vader or whoever you’ve got in your sights.
It’s been great to observe the dynamic gameplay in early playtests of Heroes vs Villains. When the first Hero or Villain is defeated you’ll notice how that team adapts, staying away a bit and going for sniping shots instead. It’s also interesting when one team is down to their last Hero or Villain and the opponent has two or three left. The only way to win then is to attack, even though the odds are against you. You’ll see a lot of those thrilling rounds with action going on down to the wire.

The Battle of Scarif was the first major battle of the Galactic Civil War, marking the outbreak of open war between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire. The battle followed years of attacks by the fledgling Rebel Alliance against the Empire and began the five-year period in which the Alliance successfully fought to replace the Galactic Empire with the New Republic. Prior to the battle, Alliance Intelligence intercepted information suggesting that renowned scientist Galen Erso was building an Imperial superweapon capable of destroying entire planets. Alliance leadership sent Galen Erso's daughter, Jyn Erso, and Captain Cassian Andor to learn more about her father's involvement, and their subsequent efforts saw the Alliance discover the existence of the Death Star, as well as a fatal flaw in the design placed there by Galen Erso.
Though the Alliance Civil Government refused to openly oppose the Empire, Erso and Andor led a small unit of Rebel soldiers and other allies and defied orders, taking it upon themselves to infiltrate the heavily-guarded Citadel Tower base on Scarif to retrieve the Death Star plans. Under the callsign Rogue One, the unit infiltrated Scarif's planetary shield in a stolen Zeta-class cargo shuttle and proceeded to wage a guerrilla assault on the Citadel's outskirts, drawing away Imperial forces so that Andor, Erso, and the droid K-2SO could infiltrate the facility. Director Orson Krennic, the former commander of the Death Star, attempted to stop Erso and Andor from stealing the plans, but the heavily-outnumbered Rebels received support from the Alliance Fleet under Admiral Raddus, whose forces engaged the Imperial Star Destroyers above Scarif and worked to destroy the Shield Gate protecting the planet.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader (also known as Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II) is an arcade-style action game co-developed by Factor 5 and LucasArts. The second of three games in the Rogue Squadron series, it was published by LucasArts and released as a launch title for the Nintendo GameCube on November 9, 2001. Set in the fictional Star Wars galaxy, the game spans all three original trilogy Star Wars films. The player controls Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles. As the game progresses, Skywalker, Antilles and the Rebel Alliance fight the Galactic Empire in ten missions across various planets.
Gameplay
Similar to its predecessor, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Rogue Leader is a fast-paced, flight action game. Each of the game's ten levels introduces mission objectives such as search and destroy or protection that must be completed to progress to the next level. Enemy aircraft are primarily composed of TIE fighters, Imperial shuttles and Star Destroyers. Ground defenses are more varied and include three different walkers, various laser turrets, probe droids and stormtroopers. The heads-up display features a health meter, a radar, an ammunition count for secondary weapons and the "command cross" that allows the player to give limited instructions to their wingmen. The player can control seven craft in the base game: X-wing, A-wing, Y-wing, B-wing, Snowspeeder, the T-16 Skyhopper and the Millennium Falcon. Each vehicle offers a unique armament arrangement, as well as varying degrees of speed and maneuverability. The game initially restricts the player to a particular craft for each level; however, after a level is completed, it can be replayed with any available craft. Some levels offer the player the option to change craft mid-level. Eleven bonus power-ups are hidden in different levels throughout the game. These bonuses improve a craft's weapons, durability and targeting computer and are applied to each eligible craft for the remainder of the game. The player's performance is measured throughout the game, and performance statistics are checked after each level against three medal benchmarks. Each benchmark contains six categories: completion time, number of enemies destroyed, shot accuracy, number of friendly craft and structures saved, number of lives lost and targeting computer efficiency. If a player's performance meets or exceeds one of the level's three benchmarks in all six categories, a medal—bronze, silver or gold—is awarded on completion. Acquiring these medals promotes the player's rank and helps unlock hidden content.[6] Once the player completes all of the training missions and achieves gold medals on all 15 levels, the opportunity to activate "Ace Mode" is awarded. Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader is set in the fictional Star Wars galaxy, where a war is fought between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. The game spans all three original trilogy Star Wars films: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles have recently joined the Alliance to help defeat the Empire and restore freedom to the galaxy. The game opens with an opening crawl resembling those featured in the Star Wars films. Further story details are presented through the game's instruction manual, pre-mission briefings, character conversations during the game, in-game cut scenes and movie clips lifted directly from Star Wars films. The game begins with the Rebel Alliance launching an attack on the Death Star, the Galactic Empire's largest space station. In a reenactment of A New Hope 's climactic battle, Luke Skywalker destroys the Death Star after firing into an exhaust port. Skywalker and Wedge Antilles then accompany a Rebel supply convoy from Yavin IV to Hoth. When attempting to rendezvous with a second convoy in the Ison Corridor, they discover that the convoy has been destroyed and are ambushed. After fighting off the attack, the Rebels continue on to Hoth. As depicted in The Empire Strikes Back, Imperial forces locate the Rebel base on Hoth and begin an invasion. Despite Skywalker crash-landing, Rogue Squadron is able to hold off the Imperial attack force long enough for the Rebel base to sufficiently evacuate.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
Star Wars Battlefront III Legacy (or: Swbf3: Legacy) is a large-scale conversion mod created for Battlefront II using as many Assets from the cancelled game as possible; including both eras (Clone Wars and GCW), a brand-new HUD+Interface and a map: Bf3: Coruscant.

There will also be playable characters from the films, such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett,[12] as well as non-playable characters, such as R2-D2 and C-3PO.The game includes cooperative missions which can be played offline but does not have a campaign mode.
Jyn Erso, also known by the aliases Liana Hallik, Tanith Pontha, Kestrel Dawn or the nickname Stardust was a human female soldier and former criminal who was a pivotal member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, serving as a sergeant during their war against the Galactic Empire. Born in a Separatist prison on the icy planet Vallt in 22 BBY, Jyn was the daughter of Galen Erso, a scientist whose knowledge was sought by both the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Rescued at six months old by her father's past friend Orson Krennic, Jyn spent the next several months living on Coruscant.
At the end of the Clone Wars, Jyn lived on the planet Lokori but traveled back to Coruscant during the formation of the Empire. When it was revealed that Galen's research for a supposed kyber crystal sustainable energy project was in fact being used to develop a superweapon, the Ersos, with the help of rebel Saw Gerrera, went into exile on the remote planet of Lah'mu.
Years later, their location was discovered by Krennic, who killed Jyn's mother and captured Galen so he could continue his work. Escaping with Gerrera, Jyn became a member of his extremist rebel faction but was ultimately abandoned at sixteen years old. Forced to survive on her own, Jyn developed various skills, including hand-to-hand combat.

Mustafar was a scorching lava world located in the Outer Rim Territories, and had an array of valuable minerals which were mined by the Techno Union, and was the headquarters of the infamous Black Sun during the Clone Wars. The planet's native Mustafarian species lived in underground caves created by lava fleas as they ate through the planet's crust, and made their armor from the heat-resistant shells of the creatures. Only venturing up to the surface in order to collect valuable minerals from the lava flows, the short and strong southern Mustafarian subspecies carried out the heavy labor involved, while the tall and slender northern Mustafarian subspecies acted as guards and expert lava flea riders. Due to the planet-wide lava surface, all buildings were held up by gravity supports. Its capital city was Fralideja

―Obi-Wan Kenobi
Chewbacca, known affectionately to his friends as Chewie, was a male Wookiee warrior, smuggler, and resistance fighter who fought in the Clone Wars, the Galactic Civil War, and the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance.

Orson Callan Krennic was a human male who served in the Galactic Republic as a Lieutenant Commander. After the Galactic Empire was formed, Krennic was promoted to commander and later the fleet equivalence of admiral. He also served as Director of the Advanced Weapons Research division of the Imperial Military during the Galactic Civil War. He was responsible for the security of the Death Star project, and commanded a squad of death troopers, wielded as his personal weapon against the Rebel Alliance.
During a battle between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance, Krennic met his end on the planet Scarif, where his rival Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin deployed the Death Star to eliminate the Empire's military base in an attempt to prevent the Death Star plans from being extracted.

To navigate the world, players use a variety of vehicles, including both air and land-based vehicles. Battles are planet-based, restricting players from exploring space. The game's weapons, characters, gear and abilities are customizable. As new weapons are unlocked, players have the ability to share them with their teammates.[9] Battlefront will not feature iron sights.
The game lets players choose to control either a Rebel Alliance soldier or an Imperial Stormtrooper. There will also be playable characters from the films, such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett, as well as non-playable characters, such as R2-D2 and C-3PO. The game includes cooperative missions which can be played offline but does not have a campaign mode.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
"Both as impregnable fortress and as symbol of the Emperor's inviolable rule, the deep-space mobile battle station was an achievement on the order of any fashioned by the ancestral species that had unlocked the secret of hyperspace and opened the galaxy to exploration."

"Well, I'm just guessing, sir. But I couldn't help noticing that your ship is equipped with missile launchers as well as quad cannons, and that the Imperials seem very interested in your arrival. And given the size of your mortar gun, and the way you don't mince words, it's my impression that you're a professional bounty hunter."
―Ezra Bridger's description of Bossk[src]

Galaxy At War, is a Star-Wars themed mod being built for GEM2. (man of war assault squad 2) Galaxy At War aims to bring a well rounded and diverse experience between Ep 1-6 and the EU(legends).
Men of War: Assault Squad 2 is a real-time tactics / strategy game set in World War II. It is a sequel to the 2011 game Men of War: Assault Squad.[1] The early access version of the game was released on March 20, 2014. This generated some controversy, since the full game was supposed to release on this date. It was fully released on the 15th of May 2014.
Men of War: Assault Squad 2 features single player skirmish modes that take players from large scale tank combat to sniper stealth missions. Players can now faceoff against opponents on various new multiplayer 1v1 – 4v4 maps. To truly bring the battles to life though there is the new extreme game mode designed for huge battles on spectacular maps
Order 66 was an event at the end of the Clone Wars in which the clones of the Grand Army of the Republic turned against their Jedi commanders and terminated them, bringing about the destruction of the Jedi Order. The event was triggered by Clone Protocol 66, an order implanted into the clones by the Sith Lords and Kaminoan scientists who created the clone army. The protocol caused clone troopers to violently lash out at the Jedi and view them as threats, and was controlled by a bio-chip implanted into the clones during their creation; the chip could control the behavior of the clones and ensure total obedience. The conspiracy, led by Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine—secretly Darth Sidious—and Count Dooku, was nearly exposed when the chip belonging to clone trooper Tup malfunctioned, but all who learned of the conspiracy were killed.
In the final days of the Clone Wars, after having revealed himself to the Jedi as the Dark Lord of the Sith, Palpatine issued Order 66. The clone troopers across the galaxy turned on the Jedi and began killing them, with numerous Jedi perishing on battlefields on many different worlds. Meanwhile, fallen Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, who had become the Sith Lord Darth Vader, marched on the Jedi Temple with a group of clones and killed the Jedi within it. Although a number of Jedi—including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and Kanan Jarrus—were able to escape, Order 66 marked the destruction of the Jedi, forcing the survivors into exile for over two decades until the defeat of the Sith.

The Death Star (DS-1 platform), also known as the Death Star I, First Death Star, and early in its planning stages as simply the Ultimate Weapon, was a moon-sized deep space mobile battle station constructed by the Galactic Empire. Designed to fire a single planet-destroying superlaser powered by massive kyber crystals, it was the pet project of both the Emperor, Vader, and its eventual commander Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin to expound the military philosophy of the aptly named Tarkin Doctrine.
Some of the earliest plans for a mobile, planet-destroying superweapon dated back millennia to the ancient Sith. Thousands of years later, before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, the Geonosians, aligned with Count Dooku and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, designed the Ultimate Weapon in secret. After the fall of the Confederacy, construction of the Death Star was appropriated by the nascent Empire. Built in orbit of Geonosis and supported by a complex logistical network of bases, its construction was at first overseen by Tarkin, then Vice Admiral Dodd Rancit and eventually, Tarkin once more. The station, which took many years longer to complete than expected, was eventually moved from Geonosis to Scarif in its final stages of construction, and was guarded by Director Orson Krennic and his Death troopers.
When the Alliance to Restore the Republic learned of its existence, operatives such as Jyn Erso were sent on a mission to steal the Death Star plans, which the Rebellion against the Empire knew was essential for its survival. These plans were ultimately transmitted to Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan aboard the Tantive IV, but not before her subsequent capture and demonstration of the weapons capabilities on her home planet. After a daring rescue, Organa was able to get the plans to the Rebel base on Yavin 4, from which the Alliance launched the Battle of Yavin with a small squadron of starfighters. The original station was destroyed by a shot fired by Rebel pilot and Jedi Purge survivor Luke Skywalker with the aid of The Force. The destruction of the Death Star left the Imperial Military in a weakened state, and Rebel assaults on Imperial installations prompted the construction of a second Death Star, both as a sign of defiance and technological terror. Despite this, it, like its predecessor, was destroyed with all hands lost. Decades later, the Empire's successor state, the First Order, constructed Starkiller Base, a larger planet-destroying superweapon considered to be an evolution of the Death Star project of the Old Empire.
