Take the Earth Hour Pledge and go into the draw to win a holiday to the Great Barrier Reef - go to earthhour.org.au
WWF-Australia
Two of Australia's most famous YouTube sensations, Natalie Tran (community channel) and The Axis of Awesome, are sent on a mission by Dr Karl to travel to the Great Barrier Reef to find out how it can be saved from climate change, and how we can all help. Axis write a rock song about coral, while Nat falls in love with a baby turtle. Watch it, share it, take the Earth Hour Pledge!

This is getting worse over time, when it should be getting better. Vital ecosystems are on the brink of collapse. We’re dangerously close to tipping points, where the damage to our planet will cause irreversible impacts on all our lives.
The signs are clear: we must act NOW. Not tomorrow, not next year. Urgent action is needed immediately.
It’s time to act like our lives depend on it. Because they do.

Nature Positive means working together to stop and reverse nature loss by 2030, leading to a full recovery of nature by 2050.
We have less than 6 years left to reach our goals. Will you join us?
WWF-Australia is calling on governments and businesses alike to take bold action to protect and restore nature. Stronger nature laws and ethical business practices is just the start. 💙

The parma wallaby is one of them, and they need us now more than ever.
Our wildlife is part of what makes Australia so special, but they can't protect themselves. That’s why we’re calling for stronger nature laws and the funding to back them up!
When you speak up, you're part of a growing movement fighting to keep these species alive and thriving. 🤗
Let’s make sure our wildlife has a future.

Severely bleached coral on a reef in Queensland’s north is dead and covered in brown algae and slime. Authorities are still assessing the scale of reef-wide coral mortality but some scientists fear it could be the worst ever recorded.
High coral mortality could undermine the Reef’s “Outstanding Universal Value” – the key factor in deciding whether a site retains its world heritage status.

For millions of years, eastern quolls thrived across southeast Australia. Sadly, by the 1960s, these iconic animals had vanished from almost all of their mainland range and haven’t been seen for at least 60 years.
But there’s hope for their return.
For almost ten years, WWF-Australia has supported efforts to reintroduce the eastern quoll to mainland Australia. In April 2024, a milestone over a decade in the making was finally reached as 19 eastern quolls were reintroduced into a fenced sanctuary in Booderee Botanic Gardens within the National Park in Jervis Bay. This monumental event marks a huge step forward in the conservation of this unique species.
But what makes eastern quolls so important to Australia’s forests? And how are they making a comeback?

Merapi grew up in the forests of Malaysia’s Royal Belum State Park. His Indigenous community have seen first hand the negative impact snaring has had on wildlife populations here. But he and his community are taking a stand against poaching and other illegal activities that threaten their home.
"I grew up in this forest, I love it so much: the wildlife, the herbs, and of course the tigers. I joined WWF’s anti-poaching patrol team ten years ago. The work is hard, poachers are dangerous but I'll never give up. I feel it's my duty." - Merapi

Can we bring SA glossy black cockatoos back to the mainland?
Kangaroo Island is the last home for the South Australia species of glossy black cockatoo, but when fires decimated habitat on half the island, it highlighted the urgent need to establish more foraging and breeding options for the birds across the water.
“Greening Australia and WWF are rebuilding quality habitat and we’re really excited that this could potentially bring glossy black cockatoos back to the mainland,” said Ben Sanders, Forests Program Manager, WWF-Australia.
@GreeningAustraliaNational and WWF-Australia are teaming up to plant more than 19,000 trees to lure the birds back to the mainland.
Fleurieu landholders who want to discuss planting at their property are encouraged to register their interest in a no-obligation chat at greeningaustralia.org.au/landholders

Seventy-three brush-tailed bettongs were flown more than 2,000 kilometres from Western Australia to a new home in Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park as part of an ambitious project to restore locally extinct species to South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula.
The project, called Marna Banggara, is jointly funded through the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board, the Australian Government National Landcare Program, the SA Department for Environment and Water (DEW), WWF-Australia, and Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, in partnership with the Narungga Nation Aboriginal Corporation and with the support of Traditional Custodians, the Narungga people.
