Why Pinkie Pie Can Break The Fourth Wall! Stardust 42 2024-02-17 | So the fourth wall.. What is it? I don’t want to bore those of you who already know so I’ll make this brief. The fourth wall is a concept that dates back to the very beginning of theatrical stage performances. Without going into the history, it can be understood as the dividing wall between audience and characters. The audience can see through, but the characters cannot in order to uphold the suspension of disbelief and the story they are trying to tell. Basically it’s the conceptual one way window into the shows and movies that we watch. So what if a character knew the audience existed? What if a character acknowledges the audience, talks to them? This is referred to as Breaking the fourth wall. In some movies and shows the characters simply talk to the audience, like in Ferris Buller’s day off, but nowadays The fourth wall is more often shattered for the sake of comedy. Phineas and Ferb, for example, breaks the fourth wall regularly. often more subtle ways. Sometimes poking fun at the absurdity of the situation, the cartoonish visuals and physics, and generally being aware that the characters exist in a cartoon. -Yippee! We filmed this in April like 2 days before Starstrike's ponytown stream. I wanted to release that video first, since there was an amount of time that would be relevant, unlike this video where it's always relevant. After a month of procrastinating and such the Raid video came out and I was left to figure out this video. This recording was 3 hours long, and I didn't know what to do with it. I told myself I would do basic audio editing and then just upload the video almost raw, but I couldn't do that, It wasn't good enough. So I started editing to make it entertaining and enjoyable. 13 minuets of edited footage in I looked at the entire timeline and realized just how huge a task it would be to edit the entire thing. It stressed me out so I procrastinated. Then I would go back after a couple weeks and get stressed again. This continued up until early August, when I got inspired again and decided to revisit the project. I decided that I would leave the 13 minuets or so of good editing and just leave the rest unedited like a podcast. This also didn't sit right with me, so I made a community post asking you guys what you'd prefer. 2/3rds chose 30 minuet entertaining video over 2 hour podcast. Now that I had a plan I started cutting it down, once I had chosen all the right moments I went full no-life into this so I could finish asap. I'm happy with how it turned out, and it's a lesson in having a clear direction with my content.Anyway thanks for reading, sorry for the wait, and I hope you enjoy/ed! Explaining the BIGGEST My Little Pony ICEBERG Stardust 42 2022-08-15 | My pronouns are (She/Her)Edit (1/26/2024): So this video just keeps getting views huh? I guess I should say something about the inaccuracies and general lack of effort put into this video. I never expected this to become YouTube’s definitive MLP G4 iceberg, but here we are. When I first uploaded the video and it got 1,000 views I thought “okay, cool, I’m glad some people enjoyed it.” Now I’m sitting here wondering how it keeps getting recommended to so many on the daily. Had I known this would be so popular I might’ve spend more time on it instead of rushing it so I could stop thinking about it. I didn’t script this video, nor did I do much research, instead I relied on my knowledge at the time and just went with it. Most entries I added myself, so I knew them, but I was not familiar with some of the other entries I took from other icebergs. Fankid AUs and the Kabbalah tree come to mind. I got these wrong, fankid AUs refers to Alternate universes featuring headcanoned kids of different characters, and the Kabbalah tree is Jewish, not Buddhist. I got a few other things wrong too I’m sure, and didn’t specify certain things were jokes, leading some to believe I was spreading more false info lol. Do I regret it? No of course not, even though it’s low quality it is enjoyable and it has brought me an audience most spend way more time and effort building. I’ve thought about remaking this video, but if I ever do it’ll probably be far in the future, since I have other videos I wanna work on first. Lastly, if you want a higher resolution image of the iceberg itself I made a new image and put it on my community tab not long ago. It has more pixels so you can actually read it, added a few entries, got rid of a few entries, and reorganized the layers based only on obscurity instead of putting nsfw stuff at the bottom.
