THIEF IS BACK... but is it any good? // Hands on THIEF VR Gameplay Beardo Benjo 2025-09-30 | The legendary franchise THIEF returns this year with Thief VR Legacy of Shadow, the very first entry in the franchise to be built from the ground up for VR and the first NEW entry since 2014's less than stellar, soft reboot THIEF. I was lucky enough to hands on with an early Thief VR gameplay preview for PSVR2 in London at the beginning of this month and today I'm sharing some exclusive Thief VR gameplay with you all alongside my initial thoughts, feelings and impressions. Thief VR Legacy of Shadow is aiming to be an authentic stealth experience that rewards players who take their time, stick to the shadows and attempt to complete missions without resorting to violence, this isn't Hitman where you can just go loud and brute force your way to the objective. ARKEN AGE is INCREDIBLE on Quest 3! The Best VR Port of 2025? Beardo Benjo 2025-09-16 | Arken Age is an incredible VR action adventure game that launched back in January of 2025 for PSVR2 and PCVR but Quest owners have had to wait for 10 long months to get their hands on this fantastic VR game... however that wait was WELL WORTH IT because this is one of the best standalone VR ports of 2025 and potentially of all time. The Quest 3 version of Arken Age looks amazing and runs incredibly smoothly, even whilst recording gameplay everything maintained a consistently high frame rate throughout my play session and at times I completely forgot I was playing the standalone version. BIOSHOCK VR is a Dream Come True! Beardo Benjo 2025-09-05 | BIOSHOCK VR is absolutely mind blowing. It's just a shame that this isn't an official port of the classic game. This is Return to Rapture, an amazing VR Bioshock project built by Patient 8 games inside the modding tools of Half Life Alyx, it's a completely free to play VR game (as long as you own HL:Alyx) that runs about 15hrs long and contains official assets from the original Bioshock games. It's the closest we've got to a Bioshock VR game and it's very, VERY good... but it still makes me long for an official version (or a top tier unofficial port) of that original trilogy. BUT you'll need pretty strong VR legs and a tolerance for less than perfect VR experiences if you want to try this yourself because the only way to experience VR Outlast... is with VORPX! That's right, I'm using Vorpx in 2025 to see how it compares to modern VR mods like UEVR and the dozens of amazing community created VR mod experiences we have now. One thing is almost immediately clear, Vorpx feels very dated now and even one of it's best VR experiences, Outlast VR, feels much more janky than I remember it feeling 4 years ago! Outlast VR is definitely playable from start to finish with VORPX and quality of life upgrades like being able to use Touch Controllers to play the game straight out of the box is awesome, but there's no denying how strange the VR looks after spending an extended period of time with UEVR. I Played The BIGGEST VR Game of 2025... Brand New DEADPOOL VR Gameplay! Beardo Benjo 2025-08-24 | DEADPOOL VR is set to be the BIGGEST new VR game of 2025 and I just went hands on with it at Gamescom, will it be bigger than Batman VR? Is it the triple A VR game Meta Quest 3 needs this year? It's probably too early to say but one thing I do know is this; DEADPOOL VR is A LOT of fun! Deadpool VR has been developed by Twisted Pixel, the team behind such VR classics as Defector & Wilson's Heart, to this day they are two of the very best VR games that money can buy and as soon as you jump into Deadpool VR you can feel their influence all over this game. The animations are slick, the attention to detail (especially on Deadpools body and weapons) is fantastic, the dialogue is genuinely funny and world looks like it was pulled straight from a comic book. However the shining jewel in Deadpool VR's crown is the combat, this is some of the most engaging, enjoyable and experimental combat I've ever played in VR outside of an arena brawler like Blade & Sorcery. Players are free to use the tools at their disposal, paired with the smooth traversal and movement mechanics, to dispatch enemies in the most creative and brutal ways possible; chopping enemies in half, sliding across the floor to slice off legs, mixing pistols with katanas and explosives, throwing a gun into an enemies face to reload it, grappling enemies into the air and slamming them face down into the concrete... it's all possible and I feel like I've only just started to scratch the surface. World War Z VR is a single player VR version of the hugely popular flat screen game from 2019, players are thrust into three different locations across the globe to tackle 10 separate zombie filled missions that play out in a very similar way to the flat screen counterpart; push through the location tackling objectives and picking up better weaponry along the way until you reach a climactic battle against hundreds of zombies that pour in from every angle. It's a much faster and more arcadey VR zombie outing than we're used to with games like Arizona Sunshine and Saints and Sinners, which both prioritise slow moving zombies and methodical gore. Beardo Benjo 2025-08-04 | This new VR game is so impressive that many people are calling it the next Half Life Alyx but does Of Lies and Rain really have the potential to claim that title? Of Lies and Rain is a brand new VR sci-fi adventure that's been heavily inspired by one of the best VR games of all time (if not THE best VR game of all time) and the influences can be seen EVERYWHERE; from the environments to the UI, the interactivity to the upgrade system. This truly feels like an indie version of Half Life Alyx... but INDIE is the key word in that sentence. Of Lies and Rain is VERY impressive so far, and anyone looking for a high quality, polished VR adventure should run to check this demo out on their platform of choice. I spent the night with my new VR girlfriend to find out if this new VR game is worth your time because for £36.79 I was honestly expecting Half Life Alyx levels of immersion and interaction... The new VR Kanojo is very similar to the original game from 2017, it's a game that lets players interact with an attractive VR waifu in a variety of situations. From helping her to stack books on a shelf to cooking dinner together all the way up to more risqué situations like taking a bath together or... watching her use the toilet. This is definitely a VR game for a specific audience who want to see SPECIFIC things, things that you do ultimately get to see in this game but I obviously can't show you that on YouTube. Even with the nice character animations, realistic voice acting and "adult content" this is almost impossible to recommend to anyone for the price point, there is no way that this new VR game comes close to offering £36.79 worth of engaging content or things to do!You can find the new VR Kanojo on Steam now... Beardo Benjo 2025-07-29 | This new VR boxing game is one of the best looking Quest 3 games I've ever seen, complete with photo realistic environments and impressive gore/damage systems Boxing Underdog might be the most realistic looking VR game on the Quest platform. Boxing Underdog VR just launched into early access on Quest 3 and currently offers a single player mode, with quick play and training, multiplayer modes, with ranked and casual matches and then a few options for customisation. It's a fairly bare bones package right now but those looking for the best VR boxing game / the best VR fighting game will easy get a tonne of mileage out of the single player quick fights and multiplayer features whilst we wait for the full release. The most impressive aspect of Boxing Underdog is easily the visuals, these are some of the most incredible and realistic VR visuals I've seen on the Quest 3 platform thanks to the way the devs have chosen to use real photos/scans to create the environments in game. The full first chapter of Portal 2 is now playable in VR inside Half Life Alyx for FREE thanks to modder FrostEpex who has lovingly built the test chambers, intro sequence, GLaDOS meeting and much more within the Half Life Alyx engine. This means we can now play through the iconic opening sections of Portal 2 with a full body rig, 6dof motion controls and the visuals of Half Life Alyx. Beardo Benjo 2025-07-24 | Horror games are SO MUCH scarier in VR and DREAD FLATS is here to prove that, this horrifying new Chinese horror game is much more intense, way more atmospheric and generally speaking so much better in VR thanks to the UEVR mod and the immersion that virtual reality brings! In Dread Flats players need to survive for 3 nights in an old abandoned Chinese apartment complex, however it isn't completely abandoned... a creepy old granny haunts these corridors and she wants to play marbles with you! Dread Flats isn't an endless string of VR jump scares but it does create a fantastic sense of anticipation, fear and atmosphere thanks to great sound design and constant misdirection. Is This NEW VR Game Just Dead Space in First Person? Beardo Benjo 2025-07-19 | This new VR game blends Dead Space, The Thing, Event Horizon and some nasty Cronenbergian horror into a brand new VR sci fi horror adventure which releases later this year for PC VR users, this is The Warp Cephisso, a Dead Space in VR style experience with a rich atmosphere but plenty of rough edges which still need polish. The Dead Space, Alien and The Thing influences are immediate from the moment you jump into The Warp Cephisso; the initial walk into the space station is very reminiscent of taking your first steps into the Ishimura, the music sounds eerily close to the classic Aliens soundtrack and the twisted, body horror abominations immediately felt like something pulled from John Carpenters The Thing. It's definitely a game that wears it's influences on it's sleeve and it isn't trying to hide any of it (I even found a little picture of Ellen Ripley whilst playing through the demo). Well at this point there are a bunch of non-VR games which feel very close to native VR thanks to this incredible VR tool, the first game I would recommend everyone try in virtual reality with the UEVR mod is: ROBOCOP ROGUE CITY. This VR mod for Robocop Rogue City has improved so much since I first tried it, we now have 6DOF hands to go with out 6DOF motion controls, the hands are even animated, you can physically punch to activate the in game melee attack and you can physically throw enemies that you've grabbed hold of. We're finally getting our very own Lethal Company or REPO style game in VR later this year when Deadly Delivery launches for Quest and PCVR users, this surprisingly hilarious (and at times genuinely scary) new VR game is some of the most fun I've had gaming in 2025 and it already feels very polished despite releasing in Q4 2024. In Deadly Delivery you play as a goblin who works for a delivery company, your job is to deliver packages to houses inside caves filled with traps, obstacles and creatures who want nothing more than to stop you from doing your job. Deadly Delivery VR is DEFINITELY best experienced with friends, the proximity based chat, the ability to climb on or slap your team-mates and the range fantastic tools like walkie talkies, helium balloons and megaphones allow for tonnes of ridiculous gameplay moments. VR Cave Diving is a NIGHTMARE! // This New Quest Game is a Tight Squeeze... Beardo Benjo 2025-06-27 | Cave Diving in VR is a nightmare, if you suffer from Claustrophobia then you should NOT play this new Quest game, it will probably be too much for you to handle... but if you think you can take it then Cave Crave is a brilliant VR Spelunking simulator that's filled with great mechanics and systems which really sell the feeling of squeezing yourself through the smallest gaps known to man. Cave Crave is a brand new VR game that aims to replicate the feeling of cave diving, you'll be cleaning your gloves, using a hammer to clear rocks, chalk to mark your location and completely exhaling to fit yourself into the smallest, tightest spots. It's a claustrophobic nightmare but I really enjoyed the first chapter of the story, fingers crossed the developers 3R Games add more content soon because mechanically this VR game is a joy to play, it's just a little light on actual content right now. There is also a HORROR MODE for those who want an even greater challenge, this mode introduces creatures to the cave system, creatures that don't want you digging around in their caves... creatures with lots of legs... yeah, not my idea of fun AT ALL!This Cave Crave VR gameplay / Cave Crave Quest 3 gameplay was captured natively inside the Quest 3 headset and it represents the pre-launch version of the game before any day one patches or changes. This is The BEST VR Racing Game on Quest! // V-Racer Hoverbike is the WIPEOUT of VR Beardo Benjo 2025-06-26 | This is the best VR racing game I've played on the Quest 3 to date, it's fast, it's PACKED with content, it feels like Wipeout VR and it's incredibly polished, this is V-Racer Hoverbike and if you're a fan of futuristic VR racing you need to check it out. V-Racer Hoverbike impressed me every few minutes on the Quest 3, from the nice little touches in the menu to the fully customisable outfits & bikes, from the incredible offering of content to the easy to pick up but difficult to master control scheme, this is a game that devs have poured an immense amount of time into. The game launches today with 30 tracks, 6 different single player modes including expansive championships, unlockable bikes, liverys and race suits, a full suite of multiplayer modes and one of the coolest photo modes I've seen in a VR game... in my opinion there really is no competition currently on the Quest platform that can match what this game offers. The Quest 3 has desperately needed some top tier VR racing games for the longest time, I'd say it's actually the weakest part of the Quest 3 games library, but V-Racer Hoverbike is here to fill that void now and I truly hope it finds the audience it deserves.
