How We Made Cooking Meshi DS (Behind-the-Scenes) - #shorts #gaming #anime #retro #nintendo 64 Bits 2024-12-06 | Wonder how we created the Cooking Meshi DS demake? Dive into the process of turning Delicious in Dungeon into a retro Nintendo DS game!We started by building the gameplay scenes in Blender, designing low-res textures to match the DS aesthetic. Senshi himself was hand-drawn in Photoshop, with multiple poses crafted to bring him to life. The kitchen and other backgrounds? Carefully drawn pixel art, drawn in Aseprite!To capture the DS feel, we rigged and animated several objects—from dishes to dragon tails—all by hand, making them feel like interactive gameplay. Even the fiery cooking effects were designed to blend retro charm with a touch of humor.The iconic dual-screen layout required special attention: we carefully aligned every element, leaving room for that distinctive DS “gap” in the center.
