Walking the ENTIRE Yamanote line for the 2025 Yamathon! Tech Ninja Productions 2025-10-07 | 42 km. 30 stations. 12 hour time limit. I’ve always traveled on the Yamanote line but I got invited to participate in the famous “Yamathon”. This marathon allows you to walk a full or half marathon that follows the entire Yamanote loop around Tokyo. You have a 12 hour time limit and can be in groups of four. The best part is all money goes toward wonderful charities that support events ranging from nature preservation to children’s hospice care. I plan on participating every year now that I got to experience it! This year, a record breaking 998 teams signed up, raising around 13 million yen! Every year for Christmas, hundreds of children at this hospital have to spend the holidays stuck in the hospital. Thanks to the awesome volunteers of Team Ko Chan, Santa surprises the kids in their hospital beds with caroling and gifts! The gifts are all generous donations from several US bases across Japan.
