RAFA BATTLE OF BRITAIN AIRSHOW, SHOREHAM AIRSHOW, ROYAL AIR FORCE, DAME VERA LYNNE THE BEAUTIFUL TRUTH 2020-02-13 | This is a former university film project from 2009. It was for academic purposes, with consideration to aid the RAFA further. Due to medical reasons arising midway through this student project, I was unable to continue my aim to assist The RAFA. My Grandfather, General M.A.Liskutin DFC AFC (RAF) saw this short video and approved of the integrity of all the volunteers at RAFA Shoreham. As an RAF Veteran himself (Free Czechoslovak Air Force) He understood the value of teamwork and unity. It is with this in mind, since his death, I decided to publicly archive this as a historical document of the period and the people involved (some now are very likely no longer with us due to age, etc.)I wish people to look at the positive significance of The RAFA Battle of Britain fundraiser at Shoreham airfield in East Sussex. This charity event may be remembered for the tragic loss caused by the Hawker Hunter and Hawker Hurricane Crashes. We must remember them all! However, for decades The Shoreham RAFA strove to raise funding for families in desperate need. I began as the creator/producer of this student short film with a number of months of previous development as a private concept, and £280 personal savings for items fuel food, etc. This in turn developed into an academic short film and a team of students and volunteers contributing together to create what is now seen here. This went towards a part of my Honours degree among other elements. The video Includes many other committed individuals who utilised this project for their own degree requirements at that time. They all worked impeccably at that time eleven years ago. Due to Medical reasons, I was forced to step back from some of the Producing near the end. David King, the Student Director / Editor brought in to the project was very helpful and assisted with the remaining production requirements. I wish him well. FOR THE RECORDAlistair Stewart was a true gentleman and philanthropist donating his time and energy to this project free of charge and willingly! We were all highly impressed by his humility and genuine nature. it was a privilege to meet such a kind compassionate and generous man. To me, Alastair Stewart will always be one of the most valued people I have met. A Gentle Man! Dame Vera Lynn was also truly remarkable to meet, and I was so deeply impressed by her stories of helping people during air raids whilst driving home from a theater performance. Dame Vera to me was a person who did not ignore the need of others and 'dug in' to help regardless of her fame! Outstanding!I cannot express enough how sensitive it is, the tragic loss involved in the two Hawker accidents and in the face of this I would like to humbly show some support for those selfless men and women who dedicated their time to this fundraising event, and although it may or may not continue, It would be another tragedy if the charity could no longer support families in need. I decided this video has no good role sitting on a dusty USB Key and is more logical to allow this archive to be seen for the benefit of all involved. I am listing it up on my personal youtube as a private alumni student who was touched by a great many people at this charitable event. I wish them all the very best.If you are considering making a donation to The RAFA it would be used to help the vulnerable and their families who served. Many of the people who assisted with this project undoubtedly have moved on to much greater things. And due to their relative ages, there will be others in this video who are now no longer with us. I wish them all the very best! I hope this 'historical document' gives many people the opportunity to look at happier times.
