poopgoblin holiday by me [2.0] PG2K 2025-04-15 | I've had the level name stuck in my head for months, and I figured now would be a good time to get it out of my system. Birthdays aren't holidays, but they're close enough, right? I started this level on March 25th of this year and made steady progress until I finished it on April 11th, giving myself a few days of extra time in case if I needed to polish anything before release (which I definitely needed.) I'm surprised that the creation process went as smoothly as it did, because my previous creation in the editor was a nightmare to make. I ended up submitting a half-finished megacollab part because I was unmotivated, had no plan, and lacked ideas. Thankfully, that wasn't the case for this level! I think it's good to step out of your comfort zone, even if only a little bit. I usually hate making non-demon gameplay, but I didn't mind making and decorating a 7-star for 2 weeks. Will I continue to make non-demon levels? Maybe, but inconsistently. Do I still dislike them as a player? I recently came into contact with the creator of this level after not talking to them for 7 years and decided to finally get around to beating this level. The gameplay's very solid, excluding a few jank clicks and setups. Extreme Demon - Phobos (by GMTsean, Krazyman50, and more) 100% PG2K 2024-05-14 | FIRST EXTREME DEMON COMPLETION OF 2024!!! Phobos is probably one of the more... unique extreme demons from the 1.9/2.0 area. It's a hodgepodge of run of the mill 1.9 parts infused with early 2.0 suckage that can't be replicated. It's a product of its time, and I mean that in the worst way possible. The only decent-looking parts come from DreamEater and WOOGI1411. I started going for this level last year and gave up because I didn't know how to do the esoteric 14% UFO part, and I dropped it until about 3 days ago when my friend wanted to get me back into playing Geometry Dash seriously. Here is a rundown of the entire level:0-13%: free14-19%: incredibly weird UFO part that has some of the weirdest timings in any extreme demon I've ever played. It's very easy once you find a good setup and click pattern for it, though20-26%: easy ship part, the only parts I'd die at are the devious mirror and mini portal stack and the part where you have to touch the ceiling for a second27-35%: easy wave and ball part, wave is incredibly easy to die to if you're not careful36-40%: this is the second worst part in the entire level. The gravity portal placement absolutely ruins this part and makes deaths here infuriating41-49%: the amount of deaths I've had in this part should NOT be any greater than 050-54%: it's VERY easy to crash here, one of the worst parts58-61%: this is the worst part in the entire level by far. It's so inconsistent, 99% of the failed attempts on this part were from having one of my ships misaligned. I only figured out how to not instantly crash on this part an hour before I beat it62-63%: incredibly jank dual part, surprisingly not that bad64-74%: a bunch of jank parts back to back, not very hard though75-79%: third worst part in the entire level. Its gameplay is awful and I've crashed at least 5 times on this part from 0%80-88%: SUPER jank UFO part that requires me to double-click followed by a decent-looking ship part with an awful nerf that unintentionally became a buff (why are there 3 line tiles near the robot portal?)89-100%: free, thankfullyThis entire level is a mess, and while it's not the worst extreme demon ever, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't already completed at least five extreme demons. I disabled nearly all of my Geode mods to see if one of them was tripping the game's anticheat with this; turns out you just can't get sub-10 second times, like, at all. [SilvrPS 2.0] Blood Zone VERIFIED (top 30 maybe) PG2K 2023-11-07 | This level is an old geriatric fart demon from 2021, I think. I don't actually remember what year it was made in. The only legacy this level has is that it was somehow rated for a while despite not being legitimately verified and that it was deleted a while ago. Blost had a saved copy of it lying around, so it's not lost media anymore. I was in the mood to verify something old on this private server, and even if this is a really bad and unbalanced level, I could've gone with something way worse (to clarify, I'm NOT talking about Kick when I say this)As mentioned before, this level is not balanced or playtested at all because Atio hack-verified it and passed it off as legit until he got caught. I can kind of see how he ended up in juvy for a few months. Nothing in this level truly feels right to play and it's just kind of awkward at all points. The 5% ship to UFO transition requires you to do a small click at the most inconvenient time possible and a good chunk of my attempts die right then and there. The mini wave to cube transition at 10% requires you to go into it at a *very* specific position, or else you'll end up dying to the spikes because your hitbox is enlarged by the portal. I don't even know if I'm doing the wave part correctly or not because it seems like you're able to do a quick release at the gravity portal and go through another slope passage. The mini ship part that directly follows it requires you to position yourself *right* in-between the spikes for a little bit because the top structure doesn't move until you're about a quarter of the way through past it. The UFO part that directly follows a small break requires you to pull off some very weird timings and then spam like your life depends on it; this is the biggest chokepoint in the entire level. Every part after ~33% is quite literally free and it's not even funny. The entire level is top-25 difficulty (with the wave part arguably being closer to top-10) until you get past the first third of it, and then it becomes hard demon difficulty at most because of how lax the gameplay is. This level is only rated because of its length. 2.0 GDPS rate standards no longer favor levels with an older style (1.0-1.5) and you can only realistically get a rate with this style by making a really long level. I forgot to mention that this level is a collab and I feel like it might've been better off as a solo level. SomeIdiot almost never bothers with color triggers in his part, which are one of the most important components of any level ever. It culminates into a lazy and lifeless halfway point of a level that's already middling in quality to begin with. [NEW 60HZ HARDEST] Supersonic 100% (Insane Demon) PG2K 2023-09-13 | My friend decided to pick up Supersonic and I thought it'd be fun if we raced it together, so we spent about a day playing it. He beat it before me on 360, and it took me an hour after he beat it before I was able to complete it myself. For years, my hardest on 60fps was probably some random easy/medium demon, and now I'm confident that maybe the game *is* actually playable on 60fps. I decided to take things easy with this project and recreate a really bad Time Machine remake that I made when I was 11.
