[TAS] Pokémon DarkViolet Any% NMG in 59:58 Iron 2025-09-19 | Finished it sooner than I thought, barely squeaked out a sub-1 hour lolNot bad for my first ever TAS. But a lot of time save remaining, some of which I can probably tackle in the near future: 1. No or fewer Route 1 and Forest encounters 2. Avoiding QA damage on the Rocket Grunt fight 3. Don't take damage in Brock's gym, as Torrent doesn't work properly 4. Skipping the Bike and Focus Blast (this one I'm not 100% sure about, but will be a fun experiment :) )In case it wasn't clear, I used software to manipulate near perfect luck in this run (namely on fights, getting timely crits, misses from the opponent, and various other bits of tomfoolery which would NOT be realistic in a RTA run). [TAS] Pokémon Dark Violet Any% NMG Speedrun (Squirtle Section) Iron 2025-09-17 | First time making a TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun)! I decided to do this for Dark Violet as it's such a difficult run to finish deathless due to really hard fights. This video (with commentary) showcases the run through Mount Moon, and as you might expect, it saves a TON of time over RTA!Definitely not optimal in any way (a few things I could improve early on which I only realized much later, too much work to redo), but this is more a fun project than anything. Pokémon DarkViolet Any% NMG Speedrun in 1:43:12 Iron 2025-09-15 | HD ran out of disk space, FRAMES after end time at HoF, holy lolAnyway, this was a bad run, Squirtle was minus Speed so everything outsped it, got a ton of encounters, so the Squirtle section was atrocious.Big route change and time save overall as I realized that you don't even need to train up Kadabra, just catch a Doduo on Cycling Road which can (sorta) deal with the required trainer there (still not free lol). Effectively, you skip Nugget Bridge and SS Anne (17 fewer fights - now just 30 fights or so for the whole run, more than half done by Squirtle!). Much riskier route though.From there, pretty mid. Second try Doduo, death to Machoke, really slow Starmie fight, and deaths to Bruno (crit), Lance (crit on a move that wouldn't have even killed without the crit - hax for sure), and Lorelei (forgot to X Speed).I'd like to improve this a bit more, very displeased with how this run went.
Pokémon Lets Go Diploma Speedrun (with JTaddles) in 4:40:05 (Pikachu side) Iron 2025-08-26 | Extremely good run, lost 2 mins at the end to trade connection issues (would have put us 3rd overall), but a 4th place time (at the time of run completion) is very good nevertheless!Everything was really good except for JT having a bad Moltres (made up by Hitmonlee prior), me needing to catch a second Krabby at the end, and me having bad hideout and tower fights (also forgetting to catch Doduo).This run was also done 18 days after I dislocated my shoulder and 11 days after I took off my sling, so really proud of this one for that. Super glad to get JT a solid Diploma PB as well!

First try on all mons (they require non-hindering natures and the last two are a pain to catch) and all my strats worked out well. I Beat the Pit in Mariomon in LESS THAN 30 MINUTES! Pokémon Lets Go Diploma Speedrun in 4:35:44 (WR) (Pika Side) (with randalleatscheese) Iron 2025-02-25 | What a strange run, but very happy to retake the WR with Randall. The other pair in the race, headstrong and Albie, got 5th place in their run (PB for HS) so this was a really good result for all of us. This was also the first diploma Randall and I did together since our previous record.On my side, the early game was trash (airmailed my first two catches in forest, no technique bonus on almost everything in Mount Moon, and a pretty slow Mr. Mime hunt), but things turned around in Tunnel (Charmander into Kanga) and got pretty fast Dratini and Scyther as well. FireGold Mail Glitch Proof of Concept Iron 2025-01-08 | Gonna be a time to try and figure out the optimal setup, but the glitch works just the same as in FRLG vanilla.- Recycle can only realistically be obtained on Snorlax, which is Kanto only and requires the Move Relearner (which is in Johto)- Knock Off is on a bunch of stuff, best option may be Bellsprout which is on Route 44- Berries are hard to come by. I used the Berry from the guy north of Cherrygrove, but Shuckle's Berry Juice also works, so as long as Shuckle is still needed (maybe not since we can't do Moltres strat anymore), this is a fast option.- Double battles are also hard to come by. This one south of Ecruteak isn't great, especially if the Berry proc mon is weak, as Jigglypuff has Disarming Voice. Kinda ironic how the double I chose here happens to have the same mons as the double used in vanilla.Mail glitch combined with repel trick/skip makes for a pretty wacky run! Looking forward to fleshing this out a bit more.
