Books Songs and Other Magic 2024-09-15 | This is me asking the question on whether short stories are inherently less commercial than novels, simply by the fact that they are short story collections?
It's something that I wondered while thinking about Harlan Ellison's critical popularity and general respect - mixed with almost everything being out of print and his books being so hard to get.

I'd love to know your thoughts on what I'm saying here in the video.
I kept it to science fiction, mostly, as making it more general would open a huge can of worms that I wouldn't do justice.

It's part of the 24BB project created by @M-J and the idea is that we read 24 banned books in 2024. This is the 8th book in my personal choices.
I am also doing a deep dive into the Ray Bradbury Bibliography, so this is part of the "Ray Bradbury Chronicles" too.

Books Songs and Other Magic 2024-08-24 | This is the eighth video in a series of videos that I'm very excited to do - a detailed look at every episode of the original Twilight Zone series that ran from 1959-1964, created and overseen by Rod Serling.

There were 156 episodes in the original series, so taking 6 stories for each video will make it a project that lasts 26 videos.

Books Songs and Other Magic 2024-08-20 | This is a video where I think about why I collect books. It's bouncing off a great video by Brian at @BookishTexan who talked about why he reads.
This is different because it's about specifically collecting books, which I'm sure some of you do.
Some of you don't and have developed a love of ebooks to make your books a much smaller presence in your house which I totally understand.
For me, the physicality and joy of collecting is a big thing.

So I talk about the 9 authors that I collect everything I can find, as well as other types of books that I collect, and then give 4 words to describe why collecting is fun.

It appears that the case is a strong one, but I resisted putting something up first in case it was nonsense.
As it is, I had to wrestle with how I feel as a fan of his work.
