We can’t thank you enough. Whether you prayed for our missionaries around the world, helped spread the word about the ministry, or supported MAF financially, you blessed us and the people we serve.
Because of you, isolated people had access to food, clean water sources, education, Bibles, healthcare, and disaster or crisis relief. And, most importantly, many heard the gospel for the first time in their remote village. The name of Jesus came near to them, and lives have been changed by His love!
Thank you for the part you played in delivering help, hope, and healing through MAF.
Thanks to MAF, that three-day journey was reduced to ten minutes, and the people of Puluk were able to hear and learn about Jesus Christ.
But, as you might know, there are people living in geographic isolation. These people are cut off from many of life's basic necessities - like medical care, access to education, food and clean water, and the gospel.
The airplane is a wonderful tool for these communities. What could take days of trekking over dangerous terrain takes only minutes in an airplane. But, because of their locations, logistics to make sure our airplanes have fuel is a little more difficult than it is in the States.
We do what we call fuel runs - essentially delivering barrels of fuel from one location to a key, strategic points in between flight legs. Take a look at what a fuel run looks like in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Although not covered in this video, we occasionally transport Bettina and her Congolese husband for trauma healing workshops they do in remote villages.
Your support plays a direct part of the impact that Bettina is having. By joining the Flight Crew, your monthly gift enables isolated people to receive help, hope, and healing via MAF flights.
Would you join today? maf.org/flightcrew/?source=FlightCrew_Social #iflyMAF
When you join the Flight Crew, you get an inside look at MAF - both now and from the past. Join today at maf.org/flightcrew/?source=FlightCrew_Social.
Tiffany is a maintenance specialist located in Tarakan, Kalimantan, Indonesia. And she's got a great story. Before she earned her pilot's license, she had already gone to school for her A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certificate. While she had progressed to become a certified flight instructor, she always felt a pull towards the maintenance side of things and, at the same time, felt called to be a missionary overseas.
Maintaining an airplane is incredibly different than something like your car. Often people take their car in to the shop once something breaks. But, that's not an option for our pilots. So, maintenance specialists like Tiffany look for things well before they break.
Enjoy meeting Tiffany. She shares about her experience living in Indonesia, what it's like working with local staff, and how much fun she's having serving with her skills and talents! #iflyMAF
The fact that she knew the language, Bahasa Indonesia, was a great help in conducting interviews with Lem. She was a little rusty, but it quickly came back.
While there she and Lem had the unique experience of watching the MAF Kodiak take off from a village while leaving them behind, cut off from the rest of the world.
At one point they traveled with this team by motorized canoe for two hours up river to reach an even more isolated place, Long Belaka. Take a look to see what this trip was like.
Without your support, and the ability to fly our airplanes into remote places, this trip would be all too common (and a lot more difficult). Thanks for your support to continue to bring help, hope, and healing through Jesus' love to isolated people.
Enter this video about the Yali language translation and how excited they are about a new delivery of freshly printed Bibles to their village in Papua.
But first, let’s go back 50-some years ago, when two missionaries trekked for days through difficult jungle terrain because they wanted to bring the gospel to the hostile Yali tribe. Then, as they were scouting out a place for a possible airstrip in the Yali area, the first arrows began to pelt their bodies.
Their deaths were not in vain because, afterwards, God worked through a series of events to open the door for another interaction with the tribe. And, a short time later, the Yali people asked for missionaries to move to their village.
Today, this once-warring tribe lives in peace. And when MAF pilots recently landed in the remote village of Holuwan carrying reprints of the Southern Yali Bible (completed in 2000), they experienced quite a beautiful reception.
In Papua, MAF flights have played a part in six complete Bible translations. And we’re currently supporting several more. It’s because of your partnership that we can be involved in this meaningful work to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ.
Flight Crew members get VIP access VIP access to specially curated videos from the field, podcast episodes, vintage MAF videos, and impact stories. It’s like having a front-row seat to the work of MAF.
Monthly giving is a great way to ensure that isolated people have access to medical care, education, food supplies, clean water, emergency help during natural disasters, and more … every month, all year long. Most importantly, it gives the people we serve the chance to know the love and hope of Jesus.
Take a look at this video as Dave, one of our pilots in Papua, share a message about how Flight Crew members bring help, hope, and healing to isolated people around the world.
Take a trip with us to Bunia, East Democratic Republic of the Congo, where Dave explains a little more about an air bridge to nearby towns.
If you would like to help with this air bridge and other flights like it, you can head to maf.org/summer-destination. #iflyMAF
Your continued support in the ministry has brought help, hope, and healing to isolated people all around the world.
Take a look back at what you made possible in 2021! We hope that you are encouraged by this video! #iflyMAF
And, as we think about the birth of Jesus Christ, we can't help but want to share it with geographically isolated people this Christmas.
You can be part of sharing that Good News by giving a year-end gift to MAF. Your gift makes it possible to fly medical care, teachers, doctors, missionaries, local pastors, and the gospel to remote communities around the world.
Please give today at maf.org/year-end. Thank you! #iflyMAF
When you join the #FlightCrew, you get early access to videos like this one, and more! Plus, the first 500 new #FlightCrew members receive a welcome kit including an MAF VR cardboard for our 360 videos! Learn more at maf.org/flightcrew.
