Correcting some errors in the video.1: Swiss mandatory military service does not last 5 years. I have a Swiss friend who told me that it took him 5 years to complete his service. And I have assumed from then on that it takes 5 years. I did not know that the Swiss have the option of splitting up their mandatory service over a time period of 5 years or completing it all at once within one single year. In actuality, Swiss mandatory military service lasts 245 days. 2: Czechoslovakia was not allied to Britain, but only to France, before the Munich agreement.Clearing up misunderstandings:BAE is not a Swedish defense corporation, but a British one. It aquired the Swedish arms manufacturer Bofors in the 2000s. When editing the video I was unsure if I should add in the old Bofors logo, or the BAE logo. If I added the Bofors logo, people would have pointed out that Bofors no longer exists, if I added the BAE logo, people would have pointed out that the company is British. In the end I chose to go with the BAE logo, because even though it is owned principally by the British and based in Britain, BAE operates a substantial arms industry in Sweden. China and India underwent two vastly separate political developments into statehood that resulted in two vastly separate social contracts and state structures. Trumps Biggest Failure Kraut 2019-10-16 | Well... this took longer than expected.I am sorry you had to wait so long for me to finish this video, I had some reading to do, then write the video, record the audio, and then the editing itself, which took a month and two weeks. But then again, you voted for this video.As I described it when I put it up to be voted on, I believe Trump's single biggest failure as a president is his handling of China and the way his ineffective and lack-luster foreign policy allowed for a communist dictatorship to rise and build a superpower within a block of unfree states that can even rival the United States and has by now even found ways to influence the politics of democratic nations.I would like to underline one thing though. I despise the "orange man bad!" "Dump Drumpf" political culture developing in the United States, in which even Trump's opposition just constantly meanders about pointless and meaningless things rather than actually criticize the president's stupid policies. With that in mind, videos I will be making about the election as 2020 approaches will be more focused on looking at and critiquing actual policies and not about pedantic nonsense. Because I genuinely believe that Trump has been a terrible president, but the reason why the U.S public complains about him has nothing to do with why he is terrible.I hope you enjoy this video. The idea behind it is that a democratic society doesn't need to adhere to liberal principles to function and prosper. And this is an idea that has in recent years fallen on fertile grounds all across the world. Not just in Hungary, but also in the United States with President Trump, in evermore countries across Eastern Europe from Poland to Belarus, to the Islamic Republic of Iran with its Ayatholas, to countries such as Singapore and Brazil with its president Bolsonaro, to his neighbors in Venezuela under Maduro and Bolivia and Evo Moralez. The idea of the illiberal democracy is however far older than Orban.
