It sticks with you especially because of its respective dungeon, where Link learns the unfortunate truth of Koholint Island. While I never enjoyed Link's Awakening (unfortunately), I do love its story and music, and Face Shrine has always stood out as an especially striking piece, even when it was limited to the tones the Gameboy could barely produce out of its little speaker.With all that said, I hope you enjoy the video!

I've been having an absolute blast revisiting the games, and the Zero Mission rendition of the classic Metroid theme got stuck in my head, so I wanted to remake it. Zero Mission's take is a sort of unexpected twist on it, seeing as it starts with the lesser known second melody that plays after 30 seconds or so in the original game. It's a beautiful rendition nonetheless, and thus it's commonly the version I think of when I think of Metroid.With all that said, I hope you enjoy the video!

About a year ago a fellow Mario Painter did a bit of this as an experiment in our Discord. I felt inspired and wanted to give it a go of my own. Fast forward to now and after a bit of procrastination I've finally finished it! I did some sound effects work in audacity to approach the reverb present in the original album, as well as adding vinyl crackle for the full effect. Even with all that, I think you can still tell it's Mario Paint, lol.Speaking of the original album, I highly recommend you give it a listen. The content and themes are pretty heavy, so it's not for the feint of heart, but it's a thoroughly and expertly crafted musical experience definitely worth your time.With all that said, I hope you enjoy the video!

The song is actually from Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle for the Sega Genesis, titled "Item C". Considering it's less than stellar quality, you might ask why would I make this into a Mario Paint?Because I felt like it.

Crazy Cry at Call - F-ZERO X | Super Mario Paint AurenTheGuy 2020-11-27 | Finally, two years since finishing the SNES F-Zero OST, here's F-Zero X! I originally tried tackling these songs almost immediately after finishing the previous soundtrack, but I found that I didn't really have the know how of dealing with F-Zero X's instrumentation. After a couple more years of Mario Painting though, I'm feeling much more confident, and I'm very happy with how this turned out. Some of you may notice the ending to the song doesn't come from the original track. Normally, there's no ending at all, and the song just continually loops. I personally have never liked fade outs as opposed to actual endings, so I took some liberty and recreated a portion of the ending from the Guitar Arrange version of the song and used that for the ending. If you're a fan of F-Zero music, and you haven't listened to that album, stop everything you're doing and listen to it, it's awesome.In any case, I hope you all enjoy the video!

Illusion - F-ZERO: GP Legend | Super Mario Paint AurenTheGuy 2020-08-31 | Back to video game music, and whaddya know, it's F-Zero, again.I still want to make more F-Zero music, but after making the entire SNES soundtrack, trying to move from that to F-Zero X with all of its heavy metal and rock organs is really hard to replicate, so instead I've approached something simpler with Illusion. The song rocks incredibly hard for a GBA song, but you can tell it's limited because it includes next to no bass. As a result I took some liberties and used GaMetal's cover (very excellent by the way please go watch it) as a reference for what the bass should sound like. The intensity of the instrumentation, Waters' and Gilmour's vocals, and the incredible guitar solos; all backed by lingering orchestral touches create a musical experience unlike anything, even compared to other Pink Floyd songs. With a song as daunting as this, I had to give it my all, and I absolutely think it paid off.
