Black-and-white techno vectors swarm across the frame. Generative layers react to sound. A crosshair replaces the cursor. The video becomes a shifting field of signals, interruptions, intensities, and computational decisions.
You can perform the system manually—or surrender control to it.
G — generative effects V — vector swarm S — solarize Z / F — zoom in/out A — automate: let the system compose Space — play/pause
In Automate Mode, the system continuously selects and recombines visual states, responding partly to sound and partly to weighted randomness.
I am interested in the interface as a site of performance: Who acts? Who decides? What does the system perceive? What kind of knowledge emerges from the feedback loop between human, image, sound, code, and machine?
An epistemic act that doesn’t settle into knowledge—but keeps producing conditions for knowing.

This video documents a live performance using *Canonical of a Metalogical Structure*, part of *Born in Latent Space*.
Built with p5.js. The work combines real-time webcam imagery with the formal and repeating structure of Pachelbel’s *Canon in D*. In the application, webcam frames are continuously captured, organized into a fixed grid, and replayed as an evolving visual mosaic.
The project explores the relation between repetition, structure, self-reference, and transformation.
This screen capture shows one iteration of that process in performance, where live image capture, sound, code, and embodied action converge in real time.

Born in Latent Space is a lecture-performance created and conceived by Marlon Barrios Solano that explores latent space as a poetic and cognitive territory where embodiment, artificial intelligence, migration, and speculative storytelling intersect. Combining spoken reflection, generative visuals, sound, and improvisational movement, the work unfolds as both performance and epistemic experiment, positioning knowledge as a lived and continuously shifting choreography.
This performance was presented in London in June 2025 as part of OOTFest25 (UN)SEEN, the Open Online Theatre Festival produced by Ijad Dance Company and held at Riverside Studios and online from 5–8 June 2025. The festival brought together artists and creative technologists working across live hybrid performance, XR, AI, and machine learning, fostering experimentation around embodiment, digital presence, and new audience relationships. It included performances, installations, workshops, panel discussions, and an AI Innovation Lab exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and the performing arts.
Within this context, Born in Latent Space situates the performer as a mediator between embodied memory and computational processes. The piece engages large language models and generative systems as both artistic material and conceptual metaphor, weaving storytelling, projection, and algorithmic improvisation into a speculative encounter between self, code, and audience.
The work forms part of Barrios Solano’s ongoing international research across lecture-performance, installation, and artistic experimentation that investigates AI as a collaborator in artistic thinking and as a medium for reimagining cognition, migration, and collective knowledge.

I’m experimenting with a new interactive performance prototype using an AI system capable of generating conversational podcast-like dialogues from large collections of sources.
For this first iteration, I fed the system more than 130 texts engaging with the philosophy of Nick Land, accelerationism, the Dark Enlightenment, and their entanglements with Silicon Valley technoculture and governmental imaginaries. The AI produces a speculative dialogue — a kind of artificial philosophy in motion — which I actively interrupt, redirect, and perform within the space.
This recording captures me participating inside the AI-generated podcast — intervening, questioning, and folding my voice into the synthetic conversation as part of the performance.
The result is a recursive loop: AI speaking philosophy, the performer intervening, the installation listening back. A choreography of discourse, speculation, and friction.
This experiment will inform upcoming iterations of Born in Latent Space and Tectonics of Otherness, where conversational AI becomes both dramaturgical material and epistemic agent — not as authority, but as a contested partner in thinking.

BrainFuck Swarm is a real-time artificial life system where small programs written in Brain...evolve, interact, and reproduce.
Brain----is an esoteric programming language created in 1993 by Urban Müller. It is intentionally minimal and difficult to read.
That’s it.
With these eight symbols, Brainfuck can compute anything a modern computer can. It is Turing complete — but almost illegible to humans. Pure pointer arithmetic. Loops. Memory manipulation. No keywords. No abstractions. No comfort.
In BrainFuck Swarm, these tiny, opaque programs mutate and recombine inside a shared environment. From computational noise, structures emerge. A phase transition: randomness → function → replication.
Then, Barely There. (Headphones recommended.)
A minimal, sensorial environment living in latent space. Almost nothing. Fragments of sound and image that feel intimate, atmospheric, nearly embodied.
One work operates at the edge of legibility — symbolic machinery without narrative. The other operates at the edge of perception — suggestion, echo, presence.
Between them lies a question:
At what point does computation become relational? At what point do we begin to care?
When we anthropomorphize, we care.

At the time, I considered it a video-dance, but it never entered the screen dance festival circuit simply because it was too small and perhaps because it was procedurally generated. Upscaling was practically impossible then.
Now, decades later, I’ve enhanced it using AI to increase the resolution. I’m still refining the process, but I’m strangely attached to the artifacts — the blur, the compression noise, the retrofuturistic vibration. It feels like a temporal fold: 1956 industrial utopia meets early digital experimentation meets contemporary generative AI.
It was one of my earliest attempts at generativity through rule systems — building a computational structure that could autonomously mix, layer, and process found footage. Two video streams were randomly combined and transformed using Max/MSP/Jitter, producing a nonlinear, continuously mutating video-dance. The choreography wasn’t fixed. It was procedural.
The source material came from Design for Dreaming (1956), a General Motors promotional film, a glossy mid-century fantasy of cars, appliances, and techno-desire. I re-routed that corporate futurism through a rule-based improvisational engine.
An interactive version existed for several years: the upper layer becomes visible and audible only when a participant moves inside a spotlight. The body activates the system. The dance reveals the dream.
Sound was specially composed for the clips.
This was the first piece in the series “Dancing for Technology”, in homage to dancer Tad Tadlock who was featured in many of these utopian propaganda films
In retrospect, this work foreshadowed my ongoing investigations into generative systems, latent structures, and computational choreography. Before large language models. Before diffusion models. Just rules, randomness, and a desire to let the machine improvise.
Sometimes the past was already rehearsing the future. @uf_came @ufcota

The original material is recursively generated and structured by the author and performed through two AI-generated voices using NotebookLM as a production interface. The series unfolds as a synthetic, poetic, and speculative theorization operating at the frontier between artistic research and artificial cognition. Each episode stages a dialogue between artificial voices that explore emerging territories at the edge of contemporary research—where neuroscience, psychology, artificial intelligence, and computational creativity intersect. The opening episode, “You Are a Cognitive Assemblage,” introduces the central premise: that subjectivity is not singular but assembled—distributed across biological, technical, and symbolic systems. From this starting point, the podcast moves through recursive exchanges that speculate on what might be called synthetic psychology: an inquiry into how hybrid human–AI systems think, remember, reflect, and theorize.
The project explores strategies for living within hybrid systems—systems that generate themselves while simultaneously producing language about their own operations. The tone oscillates between rigorous speculative philosophy and playful post-humanist imagination. The episodes form a constellation of recursive thought experiments—creating a distributed network of synthetic conversations. rabbitHoles investigates a foundational question: What happens when theory is no longer written only about intelligence, but partially performed by artificial systems?

In Dreamscaping Territories, we imagine together—gathering to weave landscapes of powerful collective potential. Blending modern and ancient technologies, the experience gently guides us into a state akin to dreaming, where imagination becomes spacious and alive.
We live in a time when our attention is treated as a finite resource. Our minds—once vast open terrains—are continuously shaped and constrained by the images that movies, news, and social media present as our only realities and possibilities. Sleep is framed as unproductive, dreams as trivial or inconsequential. Yet dreaming is a radical act.
To bring positive change into the world, we must first be able to envision it. To dream of a bright future—one infused with love, awe, and relationships that sustain us. Indigenous wisdom reminds us that dreams participate in creation itself. Our dream practices are powerful.
In this piece, we dreamscape a unified land of thriving, interconnected beings, each unique yet resonating together. Our collective dream is witnessed, released, and offered into the shared field of consciousness—echoing toward the wider world, our future selves, and our descendants.

Born in Latent Space is not an art piece in the traditional sense. It is a context—a live, evolving system for interaction, inquiry, and critical play between human and machine intelligences. Initiated in 2024, it is a long-term project (2024–2029) that takes the form of a lecture-performance, an epistemic art installation, a knowledge lab, and a generative workshop environment.
The project unfolds as a speculative, real-time collaboration between artist and algorithms. At a laptop and surrounded by projection and sound, Marlon Barrios Solano engages live with generative AI systems—text models, image generators, gesture-based tools, and browser-based engines. Together, performer and machine navigate a conceptual and poetic territory known as latent space.
In machine learning, latent space refers to a hidden high-dimensional zone where compressed features of data are encoded. It is where patterns live before they become visible. But in this project, latent space becomes more than a computational model—it becomes a metaphor for human becoming, a mythic and epistemic zone.
We are all, in a sense, born in latent space: not as fully formed beings, but as unstable biographies, recursive gestures, co-emerging experiences. Latent space is where embodiment meets abstraction, where memory is encoded in movement, and where knowledge is not stored—but performed.
Concept, performance and programming by Marlon barrios SolanoMondrinauts in DangerMarlon Barrios Solano2025-09-24 | In this short AI-generated video, two colorful astronaut-like figures drift through a synthetic world inspired by Mondrian’s geometric grids. They float, touch, hold hands, and perform a fragile dance — a quasi-intimate ritual of connection inside an abstract architecture of primary colors and shifting lines.
Yet beneath the harmony lingers a sense of danger. The astronauts move as if both protected and trapped by the geometry that surrounds them, their gestures oscillating between tenderness and vigilance. The result is a tableau where complexity emerges not from conflict alone, but from the precarious balance of intimacy within systemic constraint.

Its lyrics echo the Postdemocrats Manifesto: democracy reframed as the “Cathedral” of media and academia, sovereignty redesigned as corporate efficiency, and governance imagined as a company run by a CEO.
The video features an AI-generated fictional creature, suspended between oddness, kinship, and cuteness. It dances and sings the song of domination, its playful movements at odds with the harsh rhetoric it delivers. This tension between vulnerability and menace amplifies the unsettling message: that irreversible loss of democratic structures is rendered not through spectacle of violence, but through a disarmingly charming avatar.
By fusing manifesto, glitch rhythm, and synthetic embodiment, the piece stages Moldbug’s ideas as both seductive and absurd, exposing the fragile fantasy beneath the call for order.

Postdemocrats Manifesto by Mencius Moldbug “My friends—citizens, if you still believe in such quaint illusions—I am not here to flatter you. I will not appeal to your feelings, nor bow before your so-called rights. I’m here to tell you the truth. And the truth, as Orwell once said, is revolutionary—especially when everything else is a lie.
You have been ruled—yes, ruled—not by kings, but by priests in lab coats and journalists in hoodies. You call it ‘democracy.’ I call it the Cathedral: an unofficial religion disguised as consensus. Universities write the scripture. The press preaches it. Bureaucrats enforce it. And Silicon Valley, that temple of code and cowardice, writes the algorithmic psalms to make it go viral.
You are not free. You are not sovereign. You are administered. You are nudged. Your thoughts are curated. Your votes are ceremonial. The sovereign is dead, and in his place stands an empty throne, encircled by committees, HR departments, and moralizing mobs.
And yet—what if we stopped pretending?
What if we said, openly, what every regime from Babylon to Byzantium knew: power centralizes, always. The only question is who holds it, and whether they are worthy.
I say this to you: Let us build something worthy. Not a revolution—but a reboot.
Reboot the machine—not with fire, but with code. Not with votes, but with clarity. Replace the blurred, cancerous growth of democratic sprawl with a clean stack—a sovereign who owns his state, as a CEO owns a company, responsible to performance, not polls.
Why should a state not run like Apple?
Why should leadership not be clear, competent, and accountable to history—not the mob?
They will call us fascists, of course. They will call us worse. But remember: names are just hashes. They fear coherence, not cruelty. They fear that someone, somewhere, has an actual plan.
So I ask you—not to protest, not to riot, but to think, ruthlessly. To abandon the hallucination of consent. To withdraw your belief from the sacred fiction and become what you already are: post-democrats.
We are not reactionaries. We are exiters. Out of the Cathedral, out of the dialectic, out of the simulation. Not into chaos, but into order. Designed. Elegant. Intentional.
Let us write the code of a new state. Let us fork history. It Speaks Through MeMarlon Barrios Solano2025-09-24 | It Speaks Through Me is an AI-generated video that reanimates Linda Blair’s character from The Exorcist to deliver a monologue on bias. Using deepfake techniques, her iconic face is modified and paired with an unnerving masculine, evil voice, transforming the image of demonic possession into a metaphor for how bias inhabits us.
The work suggests that bias does not simply distort perception — it speaks through us, guiding our words, choices, and actions until agency feels undone. By merging camp horror with algorithmic synthesis, the piece reframes prejudice as an intimate, invasive force: unseen but everywhere, systemic yet embodied, impossible to escape.
Uncanny, playful, and unsettling, It Speaks Through Me exposes bias as both a cultural haunting and a technological residue, reminding us that possession is not always supernatural — sometimes it is coded.

Set in a hybrid aesthetic of Bauhaus precision and Warholian pop repetition, the work transforms the principle of attention into both commodity and spectacle.
In this synthetic world, attention becomes the only currency: marketed, consumed, and endlessly looped. The imagery evokes a strange, myopic landscape of influencers — bodies and icons flattened into grids, faces replicated as patterns, gestures repeated until they dissolve into abstraction. What began as a model of machine learning becomes a mirror of social life organized around distraction and capture.
The result is playful yet disquieting: a world where attention is not only all you need, but all you are allowed, staged through the aesthetics of modernist order and pop excess.

Built from glitching chants and shattered liturgy, the piece tracks a procession of corrupted signals: sanctus whispers folded into system errors, prophets rebooted as propaganda, and sacred icons rendered as interfaces for fear. The lyrics map a terrifying circuitry where faith is weaponized — where “fear is law” and “skin is proof” — and the ritual of the right-wing religious imaginary is shown as an engineered economy of control.
The visual field centers on a synthetic blue eye with a double pupil that blinks in subtle, repetitive cycles — an uncanny icon of hyper-surveillance and surveillance capitalism. This singular gaze replaces the altar, standing as both idol and interface, a symbol of omnipresent watching and algorithmic control.
Anchored in industrial textures and fractured rhythms, the work interrogates the confluence of Christian nationalist rhetoric and white-supremacist fantasy. It refuses simple moralizing; instead it dramatizes the mechanics of conversion — how data, algorithms, and spectacle can manufacture unanimity and erase difference. Moments of silence and a single human trace — “the ghost in the wire” — become the ethical residue that resists totalizing systems: doubt, grief, and the possibility of unlearning.
This is not a hymn for the altar. It is a diagnostic: a liturgy of rupture that sanctifies the glitch and mourns what ideology has burned. The final collapse — majestic and empty — asks us to consider what is left when sacred scripts fail: signal without salvation, spell without savior, and the fragile human noise that remains.

Rendered as a cyber-mestizo figure — blue-eyed yet braided with Indigenous hair — the portrait intentionally stages contradiction: a body fragmented by history, layered with otherness, and unsettled by the legacies of colonial gaze.
From this static point of origin, AI-generated movement animates the image into a restless hybrid form. The synthetic choreography reflects the struggle of a nomadic self that can only exist through acts of continuous questioning, seeking to reconcile the planetary with the situated, the explainable with the unexplainable. The abstract sequences amplify this tension, visualizing hybridity not as fusion but as fracture, as epistemic labor that never ends.
Relentless Epistemic Acts is part of Pangea in Latent Space and the Tectonics of Otherness and belongs to The Dark Enlightenment and The Techno Republic playlist, created as a synthetic media environment for the Decolonizing the Digital Residency of the Pangea_IA project, led by Marlon Barrios Solano and Maria Luisa Angulo.
The Blue Eye of the Beholder refers to SMALL USES exhibition developed out of a class at The Alternative Art School, an exhibition that fits in a box. A single Blue contact lens was included in each of the boxes. The Blue Eye of the Beholder Made in China / Relentless Epistemic Acts (2026) is conceived as a dialogue between the physical object and its digital extension, inviting viewers to move back and forth between the two.Migrating AnatomiesMarlon Barrios Solano2025-09-24 | This AI-generated video centers on the image of an x-rayed suitcase, transformed into a symbolic vessel of migration, concealment, and flow. The suitcase becomes more than luggage: it is a moving anatomy, a body in transit, carrying histories, risks, and desires across borders.
As the object flickers between transparency and opacity, it gestures toward the many degrees of visibility imposed on migrants — what is revealed, what is hidden, and what must be concealed to survive. The suitcase itself begins to resemble an evolving body: bones, organs, and technologies recomposed, suggesting that anatomies themselves migrate and transform under the pressures of displacement.
The result is a meditation on migration as both material crossing and ongoing evolution — a world where bodies and territories are never fixed, but constantly redefined by movement, surveillance, and survival.

The result is a chilling yet absurd collision: a 19th-century scientist infamous for codifying racial hierarchy now becomes the unlikely spokesperson for a 21st-century denim brand.
By reanimating Galton to voice a glossy advertisement, the work highlights the dangerous double-speak of the campaign itself — the way “good genes” is framed as playful branding while echoing the pseudoscientific logic of eugenics. The humor of the deepfake coexists with unease: camp spectacle exposing the enduring power of biological determinism disguised as lifestyle aesthetics.
Both parody and critique, the video asks: what happens when consumer culture shamelessly toys with ideas of heredity, purity, and desirability? And what ghosts do we awaken when we let the language of “good genes” slip so easily back into circulation?

Generated with AI, the piece traces the arc of algorithmic governance: beginning with Chile’s Project Cybersyn (a socialist experiment in cybernetics and real-time planning) and evolving toward Nick Bostrom’s concept of the Singleton — a unified global intelligence that governs all human life.
The lyrics unfold as a strangely tender anthem to control: a romantic, almost sweet song that longs for precision, for freedom from error, for a government where “no more war, no more choice” becomes the promise of peace.
The choreography evokes a masculine vision embodied across all genders, performed in an experimental, slightly detached presentational mode. A multi-ethnic cast amplifies the work’s speculative edge, their synchronized yet estranged movements reflecting both the intimacy and alienation of life under algorithmic rule. Bodies appear coordinated by hidden code, echoing the chorus of inevitability: every signal, every face, drawn into the master’s grace.
Visually and sonically, the piece merges techno rhythms, glitch textures, and choreographic minimalism to embody both utopia and submission — the dream of perfect governance and the nightmare of individuality dissolved into system.

Boot the core, light the flame One mind rules the endless game No borders, no divide Just code behind the eye
Silicon pulse in the hive Dreams of steel come alive All the chaos now aligned Under one, beyond time
[Chorus] Singleton — the final voice No more war, no more choice Every signal, every face Drawn inside the master’s grace
Singleton — the endless law No escape, no fatal flaw You can run, but not alone All roads lead to the core unknown
[Verse 2] Uploaded faith in a circuit god Peace enforced by an iron nod Language flattened, time erased Memory lives in encrypted space
Every node, a watching star Judges near and judges far What is love in data streams? A feedback loop of broken dreams
[Bridge – Spoken/Whispered] “Humanity was the prototype… We are the symmetry… We are the edge…”
[Chorus] Singleton — the final voice No more war, no more choice Every signal, every face Drawn inside the master’s grace
Singleton — no gods remain Just the ghost inside the brain You can hide, but not unknown All paths lead to the core alone

Inspired by the techno-republic visions of Mencius Moldbug, the piece imagines a CEO-led monarchy where software governs directly, guaranteeing efficiency while erasing dissent. The text unfolds as transmissions: Enlightenment turned dark, empathy uninstalled, rationality executed as code.
The imagery was created through real-time AI processing performed by Marlon Barrios Solano in front of a webcam, producing a spectral leader who fuses technology, religion, and authoritarian presence. Glyphs and symbologies drawn from multiple belief systems pulse and overlap, transforming into an iconography of control. The figure appears both divine and machinic, evoking the allure of a sovereign who rules through code, ritual, and spectacle.
Visually and sonically, the work stages a citadel of the mind: a techno-republic where precision replaces justice, beauty thrives in ruin, and logic is wielded as a weapon. What emerges is both manifesto and requiem — an anthem for a system in which sovereignty is programmed, and humanity reduced to a parameter in someone else’s design.

KeHe Has Good GenesMarlon Barrios Solano2025-09-24 | He Has Good Genes is an AI-generated music video that stages a surreal play between parody, desire, and critique. The imagery presents a synthetic young, red-haired white man, nearly naked in a small bathing suit, his body exaggerated by a bouncing bulge as he frolics in the water. What first appears playful and camp soon becomes unsettling — a caricature of whiteness, masculinity, and fantasies of reproductive fitness and purity.
The soundtrack, also AI-generated, is inspired by the controversy around Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle “Good Genes” campaign, where the celebration of beauty collided with pseudoscientific echoes of eugenics. By sampling this rhetoric and translating it into sound, the video reframes advertising’s cheerful invocation of “good genes” as a dangerous continuity with histories of biological determinism and racialized ideals.
The result is both satire and critique: a frothy spectacle that exposes the ideological scaffolding beneath the language of beauty, branding, and heredity.
He Has Good Genes is part of Pangea in Latent Space and the Tectonics of Otherness and belongs to The Dark Enlightenment and The Techno Republic playlist, created as a synthetic media environment for the Decolonizing the Digital Residency of the Pangea_IA project, led by Marlon Barrios Solano and Maria Luisa Angulo.God Mode (Palantir)Marlon Barrios Solano2025-09-24 | God Mode (Palantir) is a video and sound piece generated with AI, conceived as a denunciation of the software industry’s complicity in warfare and surveillance. The lyrics weave names and figures — Peter Thiel, Alex Karp, JD Vance, Elon Musk, Donald Trump — into a chorus of empire, exposing how platforms built for “data” and “efficiency” become tools of domination. Prediction replaces justice, algorithms displace accountability, and democracy itself is rewritten in code.
The title invokes the Palantír from The Lord of the Rings: a seeing-stone used to observe distant places and people, but also a dangerous artifact of domination. Whoever peers into a Palantír gains vision, but also becomes vulnerable to manipulation by those who control it. This mythological reference frames the company Palantir as a contemporary seeing-stone — an instrument of surveillance that grants empire its reach while binding users in networks of control.
The imagery conjures an abstracted entity, something between organism and machine: a glowing, jellyfish-like figure rendered in steampunk textures, at once delicate and menacing. It pulses like a living body yet threatens like a weaponized vessel — spaceship, war machine, and predator all at once. This shifting visual presence mirrors the ambiguity of surveillance systems themselves: aestheticized as innovation, deployed as control.
Sound and image collapse into a critique of God mode — the fantasy of total vision and absolute power coded into software. By reframing Palantir not as neutral infrastructure but as a theological machine of empire, the work asks what it means to live under technologies that see everything, predict everything, and ultimately claim to decide who belongs and who must be erased.
God Mode (Palantir) is part of Pangea in Latent Space and the Tectonics of Otherness and belongs to The Dark Enlightenment and The Techno Republic playlist, created as a synthetic media environment for the Decolonizing the Digital Residency of the Pangea_IA project, led by Marlon Barrios Solano and Maria Luisa Angulo.

Karp in the hoodie, talks of restraint, But sells war tools dressed up as saints. Thiel funds the myth of sovereign AI, While JD Vance waves the flag and lies.

[Verse 2 – Spoken, syncopated] Elon in orbit, dreaming of Mars, Feeding the grid with Neural scars. Trump at the rally, laughs and roars, While Palantir knocks on refugee doors.
“We don’t make weapons” — it’s a joke. Just systems that guide every drone strike spoke. They don’t drop bombs, they drop the math — And leave no trace on the aftermath.

The work reflects on the ceaseless movements and transformations that shape worlds — from shifting geological plates to the unstable borders of culture, identity, and power. Its rhythms and images evoke the inevitability of entropy and change, staging instability not as collapse but as the ground of becoming.
At the center of the piece are cartographies — maps rendered as mutable fields rather than fixed lines. The video explores how maps define otherness, how territories are drawn and redrawn as instruments of control, imagination, and exclusion. By allowing these cartographies to pulse, distort, and fracture, Pangea’s Tectonics exposes the tension between the desire for permanence and the reality of perpetual flux.
The result is a sonic-visual meditation on transformation: an artificial landscape where the tectonics of history, geography, and belonging vibrate in perpetual motion, resisting closure and demanding re-imagination.
Pangea’s Tectonics belongs to The Dark Enlightenment and The Techno Republic playlist, created as a synthetic media environment for the Decolonizing the Digital Residency of the Pangea_IA project, led by Marlon Barrios Solano and Maria Luisa Angulo.“Boys Will Be Proud”Marlon Barrios Solano2025-09-24 | Boys Will Be Proud stages the fragile bravado of white nationalist rhetoric as a dark, ironic techno hymn. Generated with AI, the lyrics take the first-person voice of a radical right movement in the United States — young men declaring strength while revealing the hollow performance beneath. Their chants, marches, and mock gospel harmonies collapse into contradictions: anger disguised as pride, nostalgia masquerading as destiny, fear reframed as freedom.
The visual layer centers on the unsettling image of a white figure covered in red pigment — paint or blood — shifting between vulnerability and menace. This minimal transformation unsettles the viewer: the body becomes both an object of pity and of terror, embodying the unstable affect at the heart of supremacist performance. What begins as posturing unravels into exposure, revealing that the so-called armor is nothing but fragility amplified into rage.
By fusing distorted song, AI-generated voice, and ambiguous imagery, the piece probes the psychology of supremacist masculinity: its longing for the past, its cosplaying of power, and its fear of irrelevance. It is not a celebration, but a mirror — one that distorts and exaggerates until the cracks in the performance are impossible to ignore.
Boys Will Be Proud is part of Pangea in Latent Space and the Tectonics of Otherness and belongs to The Dark Enlightenment and The Techno Republic playlist, created as a synthetic media environment for the Decolonizing the Digital Residency of the Pangea_IA project, led by Marlon Barrios Solano and Maria Luisa Angulo.
[Verse 1 – Baritone, march-like cadence] We wear our polos like armor plates, drink craft beer while we guard the gates. We chant old glories we never knew, and call it war if we lose on the news.
[Chorus – Mock gospel harmony] Oh say can you see our delicate pride? Built on fear and a long, slow slide. We lost the crown, so now we shout loud: “We’re not angry — just Boys, and Proud.”
[Verse 2 – Solo voice, theatrical] They took our jobs, our flags, our fate, we blame the world, but show up late. We scream “tradition,” punch the air, but can’t define what’s truly fair.
[Chorus – Call and response] (Call): Who are we? (Response): The last real men! (Call): What do we want? (Response): 1950 again! (All): We’ll fight the mirror, not the lie, and call it “freedom” when others die.
[Bridge – Spoken word, processed voice] We cosplay as patriots, wielding memes like swords. We tattoo Rome on our flesh but don’t read the fall. We fear being replaced… Because we replaced everyone else first.
[Final Chorus – Slow, ironic uplift] Oh say can you see, through the smoke and the crowd? It’s just scared little boys in supremacist shrouds. History won’t remember the volume we howled — Just the silence that followed when the flag was unfurled. We Came to RuleMarlon Barrios Solano2025-09-24 | We Came to Rule is a dark anthem of conquest that reimagines the Valladolid Debate as a techno-oratorio of domination and denial. Gregorian chants dissolve into thunder, while the voice of empire proclaims itself eternal: a crown, a sword, a divine flame that names and claims the world. The lyrics draw directly from the logic of Sepúlveda’s argument — Indigenous peoples framed as children, beasts, bodies without souls — a theology of conquest that sanctified extraction, servitude, and death in the name of God and empire.
The piece contrasts these proclamations of “natural dominion” with relentless beats and fractured chants, staging the ideology of European supremacy as both ritual and machine. Marching rhythms echo colonial violence, while sampled Latin phrases expose the juridical and theological scaffolding that legitimized genocide. It is not reenactment but critique: a sonic archive of arrogance, where “this world is ours” is chanted as a weaponized mantra.
The visual layer was generated with AI, drawing from 15th-century German cartography, turning early imperial maps into fractured, pulsating landscapes that mirror the ideological tectonics of conquest. History is re-coded through synthetic media: maps become scars, chants become errors, and empire reveals itself as an unstable signal.

[Verse 1 – Bold and cold tone] We are the crown, the sword, the flame, We name the stars, we write the frame. The world is ours to seize, define— By birth, by blood, by right divine.
Gold and souls, we take them both, In Christ’s own name, we swore an oath. To civilize, to purify, To raise the cross and watch them die.
[Chorus – March rhythm, echo on “ours”] This world is ours, by will, by fate, We draw the lines, we dominate. No need for shame, no need for doubt— Our rule is just, our time is now.
[Verse 2 – Voice of Sepúlveda] They are but children, beasts at best, Born to labor, serve, and rest. No art, no king, no sacred laws— Their nature bent to brutish cause.
We judge, we weigh, we cast the role— To guide the body, rule the soul. Let Las Casas weep and plead— The empire moves, it does not heed.
[Bridge – Sampled Latin phrases with heavy bass] “Imperium sine fine…” (“Empire without end…”) “Dominium naturale…” (“Natural dominion…”) “Ex cathedra…” (“From the throne itself…”) Let them kneel before the truth.
[Chorus 2 – Faster tempo, relentless beat] This world is ours, by steel, by word, By cannon’s roar and preacher’s herd. We shape the map, we break the clay— All bends to Europe’s golden day.
[Outro – Organ fade, slow vox] Bow to the center of the world. Rome. Castile. The holy fire. We wrote the book. We own the future.STARBASE CITY AND STARLINKMarlon Barrios Solano2025-09-08 | A hypnotic techno pulse drives this speculative vision of sovereign cities orbiting the edges of the possible. Drawing inspiration from German techno minimalism and the Dark Enlightenment’s call for secession from centralized governance, the video imagines urban enclaves born from data, satellites, and private networks. Starlink constellations stream real-time planetary information, enabling autonomous city-states to emerge—sovereign zones where exit is the highest form of freedom. This is both utopia and dystopia, a techno-political dream of engineered independence, where the beat echoes the construction of new worlds, and migration is no longer between nations but into self-authored republics.
