Roasting Coffee Beans In The Woods - Wild Camping Coffee 2020 JRP Outdoors 2020-01-22 | January 2020 - I spent a crisp Sunday afternoon, roasting my own coffee beans in the woods. The perfect coffee when wild camping. Using a cast iron skillet, I roasted fresh green coffee beans provided by the guys at Grindsmiths. It was an enjoyable process, being surrounded by nature, and I'd recommend it to anyone, to go out and roast your own coffee over an open fire. Foraging For Natural Tinders - Fatwood & Birch Bark JRP Outdoors 2021-01-14 | I take la pooch out for a walk whilst foraging for natural tinders, finding an abundance of birch bark and some reasonable fatwood. COLD WATER SWIM - Wild Swimming Uk JRP Outdoors 2020-11-29 | With winter looming, wild swimming in late November cold water is a whole new kettle of fish compared to a summer dunk.Your skin feels like its on fire and you struggle to catch your breath in the freezing cold water; well at least i did! The water was too cold for me to swim for a long period of time, but I was pretty pleased with the few minutes I managed and I imagine after a few winter swims, the body will eventually become used to it.It would be great to eventually find the courage to swim in an open body of water that has frozen over. Whether it's just a case of breaking the ice and plunging myself in for a few seconds or being able to actually swim in parts, I don't know! Perhaps we'll find out over winter. Solo Camping In a Cave - Wild Camping UK JRP Outdoors 2020-11-12 | Just in time, I ventured out for one last wild camp, camping in a cave, alone, before the lockdown restrictions were implemented.In this solo cave camp, I revisit a cave I slept in over a year and a half ago and it was still as wet and filthy as I first remembered it! I took with me an ex army bivvy bag, my rab down winter sleeping bag and a new exped down sleep mat. Roasting My Own COFFEE - Using a CHIMINEA & SKILLET - [4K] [ASMR] JRP Outdoors 2020-10-18 | What better to way to use my chiminea than to roast some coffee beans on my cast iron skillet!Having roasting coffee beans out in the wild a few times, I was advised to give the chiminea a bash as the results may be slightly better. In the past, the beans have worked well, but using the chiminea will allow more heat to be contained during the roasting process. I found this to be true! Wild Camping On A Beach - Within The Sand Dunes JRP Outdoors 2020-10-04 | Taking advantage of the last shred of nice weather, we head to a large stretch of beach, to wild camp within the sand dunes.The beach was busy during the day, due to the nice weather, so if we were wanting to wild camp here, we had to wait for the sun to drop. Tent camping in sand dunes attracted plenty of sand fleas, something I didn't get on film but that is a blessing for you as a viewer! Solo Woodland Camping UK| Vaude Terratrio Tent | #leavenotrace JRP Outdoors 2020-07-24 | It was a last minute decision to nip out for a solo woodland camping sesh and this time with permission from the landowner who owned the woodland.-I kept the hammock at home and took out the Vaude Terratrio 2 man tent this time out camping. Such a decent bit of kit. The structure allows heavy rain and snow to drop off with ease and has been tested in very high winds. Not to mention, plenty of room inside, as well as a decent vestibule. Urban camping on a ROUNDABOUT! JRP Outdoors 2020-02-09 | We gave urban stealth camping a go on a roundabout! After a bit of research on google maps, I found a roundabout in an urban area to camp on that seemed to have both a good amount of cover and easy access. We tried the stealth approach but as we expected, we could never avoid being seen getting onto the roundabout.I wanted to get some drone shots but as you will see, the planes flew too low for me to risk it. Roasting Coffee Beans & Wild Camping JRP Outdoors 2019-06-20 | This would be the first time roasting coffee beans on an open camp fire whilst wild camping. From green coffee beans to a wonderful dark brown roast!All in all, it was a roaring success and roasting raw coffee beans is not half as hard as you may think!Using a cast iron pan, a hand crank coffee bean grinder and the glorious Moka Pot, I was chuffed to bits with the results.
