Quasicrystal Cluster Complex Tutorial (Zen Magnets) HYPRKLSTRKMPLX 2011-04-26 | This tutorial exhibits the assembly procedure for the Quasicrystal Cluster Complex. Please watch this tutorial from another builder, concerning the icosahedral core: youtube.com/watch?v=qVSfgLf2L7Y , you will require it to finish. You will also need an entire mandala set, or eight sets of whatever brand of spheres you're using. The twelve subsections are in fact Rhombic Icosahedra, and using the technique shown, you can inflate the size of each sub-section to the next scale, yielding a larger model. The Uber cluster complex is that example. Have fun making this shape, it is very durable and fun to play with, in that the panels are removable and click back into place effortlessly. Additionally, 20 hexagons, each made from 19 spheres, can be added to the 3-fold symmetry points surrounding the quasicrystal, giving it a very spherical appearance. My Hyper Cluster Matrix is assembled out of twelve of these.
