3. I was already aware of the Craig post, which is why when I quoted him in my first rebuttal, it was from a 2019 publication. Either he’s changed his mind, thinks these features generally speaking constitute a good argument, doesn’t review popular level books published in his name by other people, or is dishonest (I don’t think this last option is the correct choice btw).
4. Maybe those who experience horrific suffering and feel like they’re growing closer to God because of it are in tune with reality, and those who don’t experience it in this life will in an afterlife. Alternatively, maybe those who are destroyed by horrific suffering are the ones who truly look reality in the face and buckle, and the ones that don’t are just making the best of a bad situation based on predictable human psychological features produced by evolution. Either way, the empirical data of people’s testimony doesn’t seem to be the best way to adjudicate between these two options when considering the kind of argument we’re discussing here.
5. See Erik Wielenberg, A morally unsurpassable God must create the best
6. Taking some inspiration from what Wielenberg said in my interview with him around the 31 min mark. He seems to also endorse the moral principle I have suggested.
