People often discuss game show cheaters, and perhaps even make television docu-drama series about them. But what about those times when a game show royally screwed over the contestant? When the producers shifted the goalposts without prior warning? When a contestant was so good they just had to be binned?

Why would you need a shop to buy the Fire Shield? Well, there's a troublesome little cheeseball called the Pikit, and he's out for your belongings. If you're not careful, he will swallow them whole.

England: a team of superhumans (made with the player editor)
Netherlands: pensioners that just won't retire (a bug in the game)
Who will win, SUPERMEN or OLD MEN?
(Spoiler: it's not the old men.)

Have you ever fallen for an April fool's joke? I'm guessing you have, if you've lived on this earth for at least a few years. Hence, you'll know the feeling of shame is directly proportional to the stupidity of the joke multiplied by the length of time you were fooled.
Case in point: Ultra Fernando Cousins, an obviously made up name if ever there was one, sillier even than the Great Gianna Sisters, and what a great hoax that turned out to be, eh?

No streams etc. for a bit because I've had dental work done. :-=
Finally, do pirate carts burn your Nintendo 64?! We briefly look at some online forum discussions regarding Ronnie 64.

Ronaldinho 64 Synthwave Remix by KK 1: youtube.com/watch?v=_RzvcYJKF6U
It's the latest* bait-and-switch meme sweeping the Internet, but what's it all about? Where did this pirated cartridge come from, and what changes have been made to International Superstar Soccer 64?
*Correct at time of writing
Also known as Ronaldinho 64, Mundial Ronaldinho Soccer, '98 Ronaldinho Soccer and a bunch more titles that don't include 'Ronaldo', this bootleg is an extremely rare example of contemporary Nintendo 64 hacking.
ISS Menu Remix by Amitriptyline Dreams: youtube.com/watch?v=cOZl_gc3N34
This time, we're using a hacked version of International Superstar Soccer 64 with semi-correct player names and Portu-Spanish commentary.
Will England avoid an exit on penalties somehow?
Apologies for the slightly iffy video quality, but this was recorded using an emulator. Ronaldinho 64 is a very difficult game to acquire in cartridge form! Nonetheless, look out for a review of this hack in the near future.
A memorable contribution to a memorable gaming magazine, which I may or may not have instigated... :-D
Why not to play this PS1 game on PS3!

Impossible? Hmm...
Harry Yack vs the International Cup. Will he do it?!
WARNING: OLD STUFF. NEW STUFF COMING IN THE YEAR 2087. Thanks.
Can England, controlled by the Big God in the Sky AKA Harry Yack, win the World Cup? I hope not, because the 'victory' screen will probably be a total disappointment anyway.
Please excuse the iffy enunciation in parts - this series was recorded quite late at night...

Here's the livestream discussion with Jim Bagley that sparked this review: youtube.com/watch?v=3EDUfrhIFZ8
Recorded live on 1/7/15.
The softly spoken Yack returns for a one-off night time session of Skyrim Sunday. And while Uncle Jimbo is away, Yack Swagger will play! But first, he's got to find something to eat, and he fancies a Highland cow burger.
Oddly enough, you don't seem to get a bounty if you punch a cow rather than hitting it with a sword or arrow. I honestly thought I'd have to deal with the Arnie guards, but they're obviously too interested in the imminent release of Terminator 5: Mega Dryve.
Oooh yeah, and there is some editing in this. I cut out a minute of Yack chasing the cow around 6:55...

Sorry about all the 'tuts' - it is the product of a perpetually dry mouth and an insistence on shunning the word 'err'.
Warning: Spoilers abound, since this *is* a playthrough... :P
It seems these Selfie streams are becoming slightly more well-known in the general indiesphere - certainly, at least one message references a previous livestream. Good for Harry.

"Once, at the age of 12, I set a cat on fire... Nobody will find this out. You live too far from me and our eyes will never cross on the street."
"This game truly is a life changer... To everyone who reads this, in this crazy f'd up realm we live in, I want you to know that love for your fellow man... is the key to enlightenment."
"If I met you on the street, would you spare me the laser beam in the groin?"
Next time: A tribute to the Madchester beat. Maybe - depends on how many people remember that New Order song.

It's hard to categorise this video, really. It begins as a rant against YouTube let's players in general, then lapses into a review before finishing with the strongest of anti-review sentiment you could ever find this side of Tumblr.
(By the way, I always used to call that site 'TumblARR' because I like reading spelling errors verbatim.)
Remember The Milk of Ultra Violet? youtube.com/watch?v=lm_hsZis1Gw Well, it's come a long way since 2012. In fact it now has a prequel, and Rail Slave Games is one of the biggest micro game dev studios in the world.
As mentioned in the video, the best thing you can do is try it for yourself and ignore idiots on the internet who base their opinion of a game on five minutes' worth of gameplay.

Football sticker collecting is back in vogue, and Greg Lansdowne has written the book. 'Stuck on You' chronicles the history of Panini, Merlin and various wannabes and hangers-on, from the very first non-adhesive cards to the sticker renaissance that was the 2014 World Cup.
What happened when prison inmates helped package football stickers? What on earth does Hulk Hogan have to do with all of this? And why did Alan Curtis once wear carpet slippers for his Panini photoshoot? Well, you'll have to listen and find out!

Yackchat is very proud to welcome teletext gaming legend Paul Rose AKA Mr Biffo to the barn for a lovely chat about running the world's most popular teletext video games magazine.
In this inaugural edition of the yakkiest podcast, you will learn about Mr Rose's literary and artistic influences, where the name 'Biffo' comes from (a clue: it's not a mis-spelled gravy brand) and a lot more stuff you never thought to ask about.
Bonus for this YouTube edition: a selection of classic Digitiser pages. Thanks to Ant @superwonderstar for the first edition of Digi plus a load more pages from his personal stash.

To celebrate the relaunch of retrounlim.com. Harry Yack thought he might come out of reviewing retirement to show those whippersnappers how it's done. That's right, it's time for the questionable scripts again!
Incidentally, do not try eating sponges - unlike Weetabix, their taste cannot be improved by banana slices and dried up grapes.
Anyway, highlights.

Except not, because the game, unofficially dubbed Trashman 3, was never officially released. Legend has it that this ROM was uncovered from a trash pile somewhere in the deepest depths of darkest Europe. Italy, to be precise.
(But then, the legends are always more interesting than the actual story. Isn't that the whole point, though?)

Dodgy hacked ROMs invariably lead to unexpected hilarity, and this one is no exception. Watch as Harry Yack's emulator crumbles under the weight of this Codies classic... will his Windows 8 computer survive the experience?
Listen as a wizened old bovid pines for the days of booting balls at passing cars and legging it when its driver brakes and chases after you, fist held aloft.
Someone tell CollieUK to do this one. I'll send him a fiver if he agrees.
Music by D. Whittaker. Cheers, D.
