My version of Pipe Dream is finally here! I was very inspired by VirtualTurtle who created his version of Pipe Dream a few years ago. I wanted to do the same, but without time limit constraints. I wanted to make it the best that I could, so I went all out on digging up audio presets, creating semi-accurate animations, and reimaging the lighting. I spent a total of about 7 months working on this animation, from coding with Animation Nodes to spending hours in Logic coming up with musical ideas.
The Pipe Dream name and assets belong solely to Animusic LLC. I am not affiliated with them nor am I a partner with them. This is a fan recreation, I really enjoy what they did and for millions of others.
The audio is encoded in Dolby Pro Logic II, music mode. Set your receiver to that mode!
FAQ: Q: Is this Animusic 3? Are you affiliated with Animusic? A: No, and no. This is a fanmade project created solely by me (with some additional help from people such as TotallyNotGuy, marchkarcz, TheZacher5645, and others). I was heavily inspired by Animusic, as I grew up watching Animusic. Pipe Dream by far was one of my favorites, so I wanted to put some new music to it.
Q: What is this? A: This is a recreation of Animusic’s Pipe Dream, procedurally animated with Animation Nodes for Blender. The entire project took around 7 months to complete.
Q: What is Animation Nodes? A: Animation Nodes is a free add-on for Blender. This allows for procedural animation, think as if animating with math, visually. The nodal-based workflow makes it easy to prototype quick projects together easily and see your results instantly.
Q: How do I get my hands on your file? A: Unfortunately, this isn’t a free handout. The entire project took an extraordinary amount of time and effort that I cannot afford to give it to people. However, don’t fret! I will be covering most of the concepts that Animation Nodes has to offer in a later video, stay tuned!
Q: Who wrote the music? A: The music was written by me, and some help from Jaedyn. The original equipment was bought (such as the Kurzweil K2000, Roland R-8M) to create the original sounds you hear. Produced and mixed in Logic Pro X.
