It is essentially a 1-bit mechanical computer which uses the toaster lever as a 1-bit ALU (the lever being high signifies a 1, the lever being low signifies a 0). The lever is attached via a string to a servo motor.
It is attached to my computer via an FPGA board.ALS Ice Bucket Challenge No Shirt Hardcore.vexal2014-08-27 | Taking off my shirt to help science.Web App Internet: Internet Revolutionvexal2014-06-22 | Myself and a team of individuals have created the next internet revolution -- the internet that runs as a web app.Character Voxel Upgrade Test: Roguelike Dev video 7vexal2014-06-01 | This video demonstrates how the user can upgrade their character by placing blocks on top of existing blocks. In addition to adding blocks to their character, the player can use the UI to animate all blocks on their character by selecting a frame and the state of the block at that frame. Animations must yield a valid model -- no overlapping blocks, and blocks must always be adjacent to at least one other block.Procedural Terrain Generationvexal2014-05-28 | This video shows a fast run through of my procedurally generated world. This is written in C++ using Direct3D11. It utilizes the algorithm Simplex Noise.
The terrain is generated on a separate thread, with an arbitrary number of threads. The terrain is essentially infinite, limited by the memory of the computer. Far away cells are unloaded and replaced with very low resolution cells.Warcraft 3 Tetrisvexal2014-05-24 | This is a video of a Warcraft 3 custom map I made in 2003 of the game Tetris. This video also describes and compares two separate methods for generating the mesh curves.

This particular preview showcases the spell casting system, as well as a few spells from the Mage hero.
Everything you see in this video, with the exception of the specifics I discussed is temporary and subject to change before release. The hero's attributes were modified for the purpose of testing. This map should be released publicly in the middle of April.

I made this for a two-day hackathon event sponsored by Microsoft at University of Texas at Austin. I won first place with this submission (the prize was a Microsoft Surface RT tablet).
In this prototype, the player controls both a ball and the Tetris pieces. The ball is controlled with WASD; the Tetris blocks are controlled with the arrow keys. The levels are randomly generated with some starting Tetris blocks in random positions. The player must maneuver the ball over these blocks and not fall off the bottom. The screen constantly moves to the right, forcing the player to move fast enough or their ball will be cut off the side of the screen.
The Tetris pieces will remove bricks that they land on if a horizontal row of at least five bricks is formed upon the landing of the Tetris piece.
The game was originally meant to be for two players (one player controls the ball and the other controls the Tetris pieces), but during testing I found it can be fun for one player to control both.
There are some bugs (which can be seen in this presentation) given that this was crammed during a hackathon with no breaks for sleep.
This game is completely from scratch and uses a game engine I have been working on since September. The engine uses Direct3D11 and is written in C++. It can run in Win32 mode on Windows 7 / 8 as well as be run as a Windows Store application on Windows RT. Everything in the game engine from the renderer / shaders to the physics to the UI is from scratch.Frustration Tetris - Physicsvexal2012-10-27 | Tetris with physics. This works from any computer (assuming it knows the link), or from any phone capable of connecting to the internet.
I soldered the circuits and connectors myself, and wrote the software myself; everything was built from scratch.
It uses a relay attached to a transistor switch which is attached to the computer's parallel port. I wrote software (in C++, running on a very basic Linux setup) which, upon receiving a connection request, sends voltage back out through the parallel port, activating the transistor, allowing voltage to flow through to the relay. The power is drawn from the computer's 9v power supply (I soldered a connector to make it easy to plug in to the computer).
This is the most useless device ever created.Every Heart (Piano) by Boavexal2008-06-21 | Piano version of Every Heart (Inuyasha ending theme for episodes 61-85), by Boa.The Entertainer (Piano) by Scott Joplinvexal2008-06-19 | The Entertainer on piano by Scott Joplin.
