What are 10 cards that could never be unbanned? TheDuelLogs 2023-04-18 | What are the 10 cards that can never be unbanned? Fiber jar would cause games to go on too long with its repeatable resetting the duel style perfect. The Forceful Sentry gives you way too much and advantage and information for way too little investment. Level Eater allows for near infinite summoning combos with link monsters. Shock master (Number 16: Shock Master) is way too good of a floodgate for how easy it is to summon. Soul charge allows a generic +5 from the graveyard, an effect which is heavily relegated and restricted in almost every archetype which has a similar effect to simply summon one monster. Red Reboot can instantly win you games versus Trap decks, with nothing like it existing for spells or monsters because it would be too powerful if it did. Summon Sorceress is a generic summon from the deck, something which many combos and FTK decks would kill to have in their arsenal again. Imperial Order was so good at stopping spells it was banned again, even after an errata. What Are The Highest Stats On High-Level Monsters? TheDuelLogs 2023-04-16 | For low five monsters we have a tie between these two cards (Metalfoes Adamante, Frozen Fitzgerald) for 5000 total staff points, as this fusion and synchro monster both have 2500 attack and defense.For level 6 we have Adamancipator risen - Raptite, which has 5000 total stat points, 100 higher than all other level 6 monsters that come in second place.At level 7 we have Yamata Dragon with 5200 total stat points, thanks to its weird 3100 defense that point, being only one of three monsters that even have the stat(Arcana force XXI -The World, Infinitrack Mountain Smasher)at level 8 we have Valkyrion the Magna Warrior with 7350 total stats, completely destroying any level 8 monster that might come in second place.At level 9 we have the non-effect fusion monster Master of Oz with 7900 total stat points. Again completely clearing all second places by a huge margin.At level 10 we have a two way tie between Machina Ruinforce, and Machina Force, both of which having 8700 total stat points. With a ruin force just being a dark retrain of the original, which makes sense why they both have the same stats.At level 11 we have a two way time between Hercules (Ultra Beetrooper Absolute Hercules) and Liebe (Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe), both having 8000 total stats with 4000 attack and defense. The Real Strongest Classic Card - Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth TheDuelLogs 2023-04-14 | The original printing of Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth stated that this monster can only be special summoned on the sixth turn after petit moth has been equipped with Cocoon of Evolution. However, it failed to have the standard clause of hard to summon boss monsters, that prevents it from being able to be normal summoned or set. So it's original printing, you could actually normal summon Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth as long as you had two tributes, for a 3500 attack beatstick. Which was easily the strongest monster of the DM era, beating out the blue-eyes white Dragon which was supposed to be the strongest normal summonable monsters at 3000 atk. However, this was obviously not intended, so it's very first errata, it was changed to have the clause work cannot be normal summon or set, in addition to its other effects, and was relegated to absolutely garbage status. Last Turn Weird Rulings - Part 5 - Returning To The Phase TheDuelLogs 2023-03-30 | Last Turn is as an alternative win condition which forces both players into a special battle phase, then checks the field during the end phase to see who has the only monster left on the field to declare a winner, or a tie game if there's any other outcome. However part of the rules for the special battle phase, is that it immediately leaves whatever current phase you're on, then comes back to that phase, before advancing to the end phase. So due to this little distinction in rulings, it's technically possible to enter the same phase twice during the same turn. Which means if you have an effect of a card like White Magician Pikeru or Kozmo Forerunner, which have effects that activate during the standby phase, but not once per turn, so you'll be able to trigger their effects a second time if you activated last turn during the standby phase and return to it. Self Destruct Button - Garbage to Broken TheDuelLogs 2023-03-20 | Self-Destruct Button is a trap card which was possibly made as a joke. All the card does is if there is a 7000 LifePoint difference between you and your opponent, then the game becomes a tie. Now you might think that a tie game is a bad thing, because you still have to go into another game until someone wins the best 2/3 when it comes to a match. However, it was infinitely easier to activate Self-Destruct Button than it was to activate a card which would win you the game. So what eventually happened, was this card that no one ever played with, eventually started to see competitive play, because players figured out that if they just simply won game one, they could go into Self-Destruct Button in order to cause tie games until time limit, where they would win because they had won one over their opponent. And Yu-Gi-Oh, is designed around best two out of three. And because of that it's actually pretty easy to take at least one win during the first turn if you play a really sacky deck, something which doesn't matter if you just plan on tieing the other game so your opponent can't use their side deck in order to prevent your constant tieing. It was one of the legal ways in order to slow play until you got a win, so the card was eventually banned to stop players from having the option of doing this. Last Turn Weird Rulings - Part 4 - Resolving the effects of Last Turn as much as possible TheDuelLogs 2023-03-13 | Last Turn is an alternative win condition which sends all of the cards in the field to the graveyard, summons a monster from your opponents deck, and forces it to battle monster of your choice. Where after the special battle phase, you go to the end phase and then do a win condition check, where the player who controls the lone monster on the field wins the game, with all other cases being a tie. However, funnily enough, you don't need to do the battle phase for the win condition check to apply. But you do need to be able to enter the battle phase to use the card. For example, if you activate last turn during the standby phase, and you for some reason use Thunder Of Ruler, which skips the battle phase, you simply resolve as much of the effect as possible, skipping the battle phase and going straight to the end phase to check who wins the game. However, if your opponent uses something like Frozen Soul on you before you use last turn, which makes its you can't enter the battle phase, then you can't use last turn, even though there is ruling stating you can try to resolve as much of the effect as possible. And it's this little distinction in the rulings that allows the Jowgen the Spiritualist trick to work. Part of the effect of last turn that special summons a monster from your opponents deck, which Jowgen prevents because it stops both players from special summoning monsters. Last Turn Weird Rulings - Part 3 - Producing Additional Battle Phases TheDuelLogs 2023-03-09 | (Expect at least 1 more video about Last Turn rulings)Last Turn has a unique effect where it produces an additional battle phase, although while it's not technically called a battle phase, it is basically treated as one. If the effect the card Frozen Soul is activated on you, where you're not able to enter the battle phase, then you actually cannot activate the effect of last turn because you need to be able to enter the battle phase to resolve the effect. Although this also brings up a couple of other interesting rulings about the special battle phase it applies. If a monster has the ability to attack multiple times, it is able to attack all those multiple times, since the phase is treated as a real battle phase, with the only conditions applied where the monsters summoned by the effect has to attack. And in fact it's because of Last Turn, Weather Report, and An Unfortunate Report, that every card which mentions attacking multiple times in the battle phase, has to specify that it works in the Battle phase(s), emphasis on the plural. As You Wish TheDuelLogs 2023-03-07 | the card Alien Shocktrooper M-Frame is alien link 2 monster, that requires any two reptiles as materials, and has two effects. The first one allows you to discard a monster from your hand as a quick effect, it order to distribute a-counters on face up monsters on the field as you wish, and then if this card is destroyed, you can special summon a number of non-link reptile monsters with different names from your graveyard, up to the number of monsters your opponent controls with a-counters. Now this card is good, as it can potentially special summon a whole bunch of reptiles from the graveyard, even if the alien archetype itself isn't very good. But the reason this card is in this video today, is because of this line of car text, which says "distribute as you wish". This is the only card in the game with this type of wording for the effect. In early Yu-Gi-Oh they use to always just make up random words in order to describe effects, and with problem-solving card text they codified a lot of car text so its all pretty much sounds the same, however this one kind of slipped through the cracks and has a very unique wording, which says you're allowed to distribute the a counters as you wish. Why does no one play the Fire and Ice hands anymore? TheDuelLogs 2023-03-02 | Back in 2014 the fire and ice hand cards came out (Fire Hand, Ice Hand), which have the effects that when either of them is destroyed, they get to destroy one card on the field and then special summon the other one from the deck. With fire hand destroying monsters, and Ice hand destroying spell or trap cards. And neither of their floating effects were once per turn, so if you summoned a fire hand and then crashed it into your opponent's monsters, you could pretty easily pick apart your opponents board for a single normal summon, and they were incredibly powerful and useful during this era of the game. However, they see absolutely zero competitive play nowadays. So why does nobody play the fire and ice hand cards anymore? Well, the game has kind of evolved to the point, where if you need to normal summon a monster from your hand to get an engine online, it's considered to slow. The Spright cards all special summon from the hand, as do the Kashtira, and the Tearlaments cards special summon by sending cards to the graveyard. Basically if a card can't special summon itself from your hand, deck or GY, then it needs extra resources to get it out on the field, and if you're expending extra resources to get a card out from your hand or deck, it better be game winningly powerful like Archlord Kristya. Last Turn Weird Rulings - Part 2 - What Happens to Immune Monsters? TheDuelLogs 2023-02-28 | (Expect at least 4 more videos about Last Turn rulings)Last Turn has the effect to send all cards on the field to the graveyard in order to summon a monster from your opponents deck, force a special battle phase, then perform a win condition during the end phase all-in-one. However what happens if there's an immune monster on the field? While normally in Yu-Gi-Oh you're not allowed to activate cards if you can't resolve their effects, last turn kind of ignores this to an extent, because you don't have to send all other cards on the field and hand to the graveyard, you simply have to attempt to. So if your opponent has a Raidraptor ultimate falcon, which is immune to all card effects, it will not be sent to the graveyard, however everything else about the card will still resolve like normal. Your opponent will have to special summon a monster from the deck, and you have to enter the special battle phase. However since there will be two monsters on the field, it brings up another question of how does that special battle phase work? Well there's another obscure, unofficial ruling, that states only the two monsters summoned by the effect can battle each other ("Conductor Tyranno" and "Ultimate Tyranno"), even if there's another card ("Raidraptor - Ultimate Falcon") on the field. The Emergency Errata with Sangan and Witch of the Black Forest TheDuelLogs 2023-02-26 | In the very first printing for both Sangan and Witch of the Black Forest in 1999, they had the effects, which when roughly translated, states "When this card is placed in the Graveyard, add 1 monster with 1500 or less ATK/DEF from your Deck to your hand, and shuffle your Deck." With Sangan adding monsters with 1500 or less ATK, and Witch adding based on DEF. Now something to note with these early printings is that they did not specifiy from where they were sent to the GY. Last Turn Series - Part 1 - Elephant Statue of Disaster TheDuelLogs 2023-02-20 | (Expect at least 4 more videos about Last Turn rulings)Last Turn is a banned card that might have the most amount of ruling confusions with how incredibly weirdly it's worded, as it sends all other cards of the field to the graveyard, summons a monster from your opponents deck, forces a special second battle phase, then forces you to enter the end phase were a lingering effect resolves to check the board state, and makes sure there's only 1 monster on the field to announce a win or a draw. However with so much happening all at once, it's hard to know if effects are able to resolve during any point to this and actually when you can do things.So what happens if Elephant Statue of Disaster is sent to the graveyard during the first phase of the effect? This is a card that activates when it's discarded from the hand to inflict 2000 points of damage to your opponent, and you need to have less than 1000 life points to activate Last Turn, so if it's hit then you'll be able to win the game right there. And based on some OCG rulings, there's actually a little bit of a pause before you enter the special battle phase, which allows affects to resolve, like that of elephant statue being sent to the graveyard, or the summon effects like Armageddon knight. So elephant statue can actually win you the game. The Emergency Errata With Giant Germ TheDuelLogs 2023-02-10 | Giant Germ is a card which can summon 2 other copies of itself from the deck when it's destroyed by battle. However in the original version of the card, had the text that said after it was destroyed by battle, deal 500 burn dmg to your opponent and then "You can also take cards of the same name from your Deck and Special Summon them to the field in face-up Attack Position.". However this card failed to mention which cards you take from your deck with the same name and summon them into attack position. So based on the original wording of the card, you could summon any two monsters from your deck when giant germ was destroyed, as long as they had the same name, which even in modern Yu-Gi-Oh would be a super good effect.
