MEP Reel 2020 CapnRaye 2020-10-21 | Oh hey, I do live! And apparently have done nothing but MEPs this year. It's been a lot of fun, even if I did stress myself out with my deadlines sometimes. I haven't joined any since my computer suddenly decided to hate Vegas - which is why the very first part here doesn't have the audio to the very beginning. It was just a bunch of crossover pairings that my friends in Swag enjoy, there isn’t really a story I had in mind for anything - just that things were sad. This video kicked my ass, and I thought I had it done like days ago but Vegas kept screaming, crashing and due to a plug in I crashed my computer a few times - so I gave up on those ideas. Luckily I got it to work, and am still quite happy with it even if it didn’t look quite like I wanted it to. The Prompt Contest Sign Ups {Closed} CapnRaye 2016-07-27 | What this Contest is all about: Something I really miss seeing is story videos in the GMV community, it’s something that was very prevalent when I was starting out. I saw a few here and there and I wanted to make a contest to spark the creation of more story vids. Really, that is the entire goal of this contest is to see more stories. Each round, you will be given a prompt of some kind for example: “She saw him before he saw her.” It will be vague enough that any game footage will be allowed. The prompt is your starting point in the story, how you tell that story is up to you. As the contest goes on, there will be certain themes to the later rounds but those will be reveled in time. Dylan's acting is amazing this seaosn, and so Ireally wanted to show case that. Which is why you have shots of Real!Stiles and Void!Stiles, and it's a very much mostly a vid about Stile's mental state in the season, and the battle he faces.I also know this is a strange song to use for something so serious, which I think is why it was so challenging. Sam Tsui does an amazing mash up of Passanger's Let her go and Frozen's Let it Go. The way he sings it is amazing and I felt like even with more of an upbeat songs, he brought out a darker verson of it that fit the darker subject matter that Stiles faces this seaosn. He'd usually take the fall for anything the crew was doing, since he could slip away from the police with a simple thought. They never did have any evidence on him since no one ever saw the crime. He started to get cocky and brag. He could have whatever he wanted so why not brag about it?That's when these people started to show up, people who seemed to be able to see him. Scared, he high tailed it out of there. Leaving his crew to save his own ass. Stupid? Totally. Still, he wants to keep living the life he had. Sex, booze, anything he could get his hands on. Well Korra being Korra is all 'Bitchplz' and then thre events that I haven't figured out Tarrlok figured out who Amon was. Then he doublely knew he was bad for Korra. Tarlok killed Amon (and himself in the process) to protect The Avtar from someone like Amon. So the Korra bits is after Tarrlok killed Amon, as she doesn't want to let Amon go. YEAH. I don't know if this will be enough to pass me to round two or not, hopefully. I'd love a shot at round two, but we'll see. I'm quite happy with this video, over all. Usually my text ends up pretty bad but in this video I'm quite happy with it. My flow and overall feel of the video too.
