About Trash Classic
Hooks so infectious they rot on impact. Trash Classic marks a feral mutation for Frankie and the Witch Fingers—a record that snarls with proto-punk venom, angular melodies, and electronic textures that cough and sputter like dying neon lights under a poisoned sky.

This record pushes the Witch Fingers’ sound to a razor's edge. Wiry and twitching, it bends into synth-punk and fractured new wave, with fragments of industrial grime caked under its nails. Guitars detonate and slice like cinder blocks through glass, while gnashing basslines slither through the sludge, alive and seething. Buzzy synths take the forefront, driving relentless rhythms that crack and pop, drenched in a chemically saturated sheen—part bug-eyed speed-freak pogo, part dance-floor delirium. The vocals cut through like static-laced transmissions—balancing both smirk and sneer—layering playful unease over themes of escapism, decay, and overindulgence.

The songs were born in the grime of Vernon, Los Angeles—a wasteland littered with gutted RVs and rusting machinery, where the air tastes like asphalt and dog food. But the real alchemy happened in Oakland, at Tiny Telephone Studio, where producer Maryam Qudus (La Luz, Spacemoth) helped transmute the tracks into their final forms. Unhinged tones, unconventional recording experiments, and wild sonic detours transformed the songs into something alive and unpredictable.

Every day of recording began with cartoons blaring at full volume—a Looney Tunes ritual that turned the madness of the recording process into something child like. Late at night, sugar-fueled candy binges kept the energy spiking, pushing the sessions into a fever dream of jittery, spastic playfulness.

The result is a raw, twisted monument to rot and excess—toxic glamour and nihilistic salvation. Trash Classic isn’t just a record; it’s an auditory dumpster bible—a gutter gospel for those ready to dive into its filth.

The thundering, fuzzy rocker begins with a formidable opening groove that quickly drops into a distorted, double-time cacophony of harmonizing guitars and blistering drums.

"’Bonehead’ is a primitive, buzzy thumper, raw and stripped down,” the band says. “In a world where it’s easy to add more, we had a blast cooking out the junk and keeping it potent and pure. We wanted to capture the chaotic energy of those unfiltered live moments. Recorded the basics in one take, warts and all.

Thrashing around with a crowd of free spirits reminds us we can push back against the parasitic noise trying to keep us controlled—this is a little slice of that in recorded form"

Austin, Texas doom metal legends, The Sword, welcome in the Twelfth vinyl release in the Live at LEVITATION series. Earlier this year the band announced they would reunite for a one-off concert on November 3 at the 2024 edition of LEVITATION in Austin to the joy of metal fans all over the world. In celebration of the band’s return, 7 live versions of key tracks from the band’s discography have been unearthed from the Levitation archive, each one a time capsule of the band’s renowned live shows. This limited live release showcases the bands appearance at LEVITATION 2015 and 2021, now immortalized on beautiful limited colored vinyl.

The first Austin Psych Fest was held in March 2008, and expanded to a 3 day event the following year. The event quickly developed into an international destination for psychedelic rock fans, with lineups spanning the fringes of indie rock, from up-and-comers to vintage legends, and capped off with headline performances from co-founders The Black Angels, along with Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Thee Oh Sees (in various forms) and many more. LEVITATION helped spark a movement, inspiring the creation of similar events across the globe and a burgeoning psych scene that would soon ignite. The series captures key moments in psychedelic rock history, and live music in Austin, Texas, pressed on beautiful limited edition colorful vinyl pressings - each an eye popping visual representation of the music contained within.

The artists and sets showcased on Live at LEVITATION have been chosen from over a decade of recordings at the world-renowned event, and document key artists in the scene performing for a crowd of their peers and fans who gather at LEVITATION annually from all over the world.

GOAT - Levitation Sessions (Full Set)

LEVITATION 2023-12-11 | Levitation Sessions return with a live performance film and album from GOAT! Despite their cryptic and secretive lifestyle, the mysterious Swedish collective have been at the forefront of modern psych, and this live release follows a decade of cult-classic LPs - each a timeless entry into the psych canon, a heady mix of world music, 60s fuzz, afrobeat and funk grooves and Swedish psychedelia, from their 2012 debut World Music, to their most recent 2023 release, Medicine. Their Levitation Session film and live album was recorded in the heart of winter in early 2023, capturing the alchemy of the band’s creative process and a glimpse of their legendary live show, filmed in the band’s studio headquarters.

“We chose to record the session in our old temple during a cold night under a huge midnight sun in the darkest winter time. We thought it would bring out the best magic in us and we think it did. As the hours went by it started to loosen up and we went into some free form experiments with our electronics.
