Welcome back to our series, That Cost How Much?!?! where we recreate overpriced decor items with affordable materials and a touch of DIY. In this episode, I tackle a couple holiday decor items that are a little out of your ~average budget~, including a Christmas Tree Skirt from Nordic Nest, a Faux Botanical Arrangement in Poe White Volcanic Glaze Vase from Crate & Barrel, and the Re-Lit Brush Trees On Wood Base from Anthropologie. __________________________________

Okay guys, there is a lot to go over in this one... In the last episode of That 70s House, Becky took us along as her and Austin demo-ed their ensuite bathroom. The initial plan was simply to give it a much-needed facelift, but after consulting with some experts, they decided to tear down all the walls to ensure there was no wood rot lurking. Let's just say...that's just the start. This is turning out to be a much bigger project than they initially thought. .
In the meantime, because of all these changes, some of the plan has changed as well. Becky takes us along with her second hand shopping for tile and vanities for the bathroom in the midst of the chaos that is demolition. __________________________________

A while back, Rachael's mom shared her desire to update the front door foyer area in her home by adding some much-needed storage space under the stairs. She has been loving the FarmHouse aesthetic, and gave some inspiration from Pottery Barn that she liked, but it came with a hefty price tag of $800, which was way beyond her budget. Ideally, she wanted a vintage piece that matched our aged oak dining room table, which is not an easy find. She mentioned that she'd like to spend around $250 on this project, which sparked an idea. What if she commissioned Rachael with that $250 to transform an existing piece to contribute to the Project Profit fund? She loved the idea, and that's how this project began. __________________________________

Kelsey's “laundry room” is actually just a double doored closet in her basement bathroom, that also stores a hot water heater, furnace, and a ton of exposed pipes. This is her main bathroom, and the closet doors are often open, especially when there is a load in the wash, so she has finally come to the unfortunate realization that it’s just not realistic to expect the door to be closed. So the time has come to make it look a bit prettier.

Okay guys…I’m starting the MOST significant renovation project in the That 70s House series yet - the primary bathroom. I'd been avoiding this room for an entire year, and it was finally time for a complete makeover. The en suite was in terrible shape, from warped plastic walls and loose tiles, to cracked grout and a problematic shower area I had never used due to potential leaks — lots is to be done…
I'm excited to share this journey with you and welcome any advice, thoughts, or design ideas you may have. If you're looking for more bathroom makeover inspiration, don't forget to check out Kelsey's completed bathroom transformation. Thanks for joining me on this adventure! __________________________________

Welcome back to Project Profit, the series where Rachael takes used items and turn them into profits for a good cause. Any money made from this series will be donated to non-profit organizations :)
In our previous episode, Rach discovered some vintage chairs for $6 each, which she restored to their original ~glory~ but found them to be a bit more valuable than she initially thought. In this episode, Rachael enlisted the help of local vintage expert, @MrVintageToronto. He assessed the chairs and valued them at $300 to $500. He graciously agreed to help us sell them, and the proceeds will be donated to charity.
We also have a stunning vintage piece our landlord gifted us – an Art Deco-era storage unit with a unique planter bucket. The restoration process was defs a learning curve but stay tuned because the reveal is insane! Also make sure you wait until the end for updates on our donation progress. If you have any suggestions for non-profit organizations, please leave them in the comments below.

Kelsey moved into her house over 3 years ago, and as she's lived there, the fireplace has gone through a couple transformations in its lifetime. But now that Elliott has moved in (as seen in this video: youtu.be/bVVYWlDACeA?si=QMWH3HUzlv9XwEM6), it is giving them the opportunity to refresh spots that aren't quite hitting the mark, and this was definitely one of them. Welcome back to another episode of our series That 70s House. When Becky first moved into this house, one of the first things she tackled was the dining nook. You might remember it – the striped couch she used actually went viral on TikTok, and had lots of people divided on if they liked it in the space or not. Later on, in a vlog over on The Sorry Life, she ended up switching out the sofa to one that was better suited for the area BUT she definitely did not get rid of the striped one…that $50 marketplace steal from the '60s is too iconic to part with. So in today's video, she figures out a way to style it as a faux conversation pit in her living room. __________________________________

**This video was filmed late July 2023 in Kelowna, BC. Since then, Kelowna has experienced tragic wildfires. A portion of the proceeds from this video will be donated to organizations fighting the wildfires. Our hearts go out to the residents of Kelowna and the many others affected by the wildfires world-wide.
We recently just completed our biggest makeover challenge to date! We transformed an elementary school classroom from start to finish. A couple months ago, we put out a call for teachers across US and Canada, and got so many applications, it was hard to choose but we narrowed it down to one incredible teacher - Miss. Hardy in Kelowna, BC. She has a split class of kindergarten and grade one students.
Not only does the classroom need to accommodate 2 different grades and curriculums, but it also requires a multitude of different learning styles. She has 20 students in her class, and within that, there are students who are English language learners, who are diagnosed on the autism spectrum or with learning disabilities, who have visual impairments or are hard of hearing and students who have Indigenous ancestry. Her school is also in a lower socioeconomic area, so a lot of the funding that they get goes to important things such as breakfast carts and grocery programs that they give to families that might be struggling. That said, Miss. Hardy had to personally supply a lot of her classroom furniture or use hand-me-downs that other classrooms didn't need.
