We were given a series of twelve pitches from his song "Adrift" from Stray Gods and no direction on rhythm or harmony. I chose to write a song, which I thought would be interesting because the original twelve pitches came from a song as well! I chunked the sections, with the first eight pitches being used and repeated in the top voice of the Rhodes (with occasional variation) throughout the verses, and the next four pitches I made use of in the pre-chorus, both in the melody and the harmony - sort of avoiding landing strongly on that final pitch of the set in the melody to keep it moving. The chorus itself is not tied to the twelve pitches in any particular order.
