Charm Update June 2017 TheLittleMew 2017-07-04 | Hi everyone! This is just a bunch of the charm pieces from my last Etsy update :)♡ Open Me for Things⇣ ⇣ ⇣ After years I finally took the time to film AND edit a new charm update! Let me apologise right away for still having a horrible voice-over! Even though time has passed and everyone's videos are so professional now, aside from having a great camera mine are still super basic ಥ_ಥAs you can probably tell from the video, a lot of the pieces look very fragile and some of them were, in fact, too fragile to make it safely to their new homes. I have worked through solutions with all the lovelies who recieved broken pieces and have since made some breakthroughs when testing ways to make the clay stronger- so things look very promising moving forward!I'll be uploading the video for the figurines that were part of this update soon, so check back for that later this week if you're interested! Polymer Clay Tips: Keeping Clay Clean and Smooth TheLittleMew 2015-09-22 | Hi everyone, this is the most requested Keeping Clay Clean Video!♡ Open Me for All The Things⇣ ⇣ ⇣ I didn't talk in this video because I've become a bit shy of my voice since I haven't uploaded a video in so long! I hope to overcome this soon though, just have to practice recording my voice again :)I know this video is really simple and that a lot of other crafters have covered what I mention, but I do get asked a lot, almost every day, how I keep my clay clean. So this is just a quick demo of all the things I do regularly to make sure I don't have any dust or fingerprints in my finished pieces. I spend almost double the time keeping my clay dust free than I do actually sculpting, so although it's really brief here and not show at all in my tutorial videos, this is the most time consuming (and tedious) part of my process - I do think it's worth it for the end result though, so I spend that extra time without question on each piece I make. As we are all fond of making chibis, the idea was to make a chibi based on the Facebook Pusheen Stickers - I tried to say that 15+ times in the video and failed haha ❤ I had a hard time filming the eye painting in the tutorial as it's not close enough to the camera, but as I show you in stages what I've done I think you can get a basic idea - you can also call it finished after doing the turquoise irises and just add a white hi-light in each eye ◉◡◉ My voice is so muffled and then tinny in this recording I just did the whole thing without checking it and I must have had my hand over the mic/speakers (╥︣﹏᷅╥) I got a new tablet so I guess I wasn't holding it properly! The base shape I made is from 'waste clay' which I coloured to match the outer layer, as it is still visible from the underneath. My waste clay is actually just Sculpey 3 white which I have a large block of that is too soft to use for detailed work.
