This fountain is located in Highland, Illinois USA about 35 miles East of St. Louis, Missouri. It was built back in the 1930's as a WPA project. It's been restored a number of times since then and a quite a spectacle on a warm summer afternoon. It's usually up an running from early May through mid October.

Odell Wind Farm pm0501 2010-04-30 | I pass by this site about 8 times a year en-route to St. Louis. I decided to get off I-55 and take a few snapshots and video. I just let the wind noise do it's thing and didn't use my camcorder with the windscreen. I may re-shoot this later in the summer when the corn or beans start growing. Odell, IL is one Illinois town where you can still drive the remnants of old Rt. 66. There are quite a few active stretches of old 66 between Braidwood & Mount Olive, IL. The wind farm is accessible but keep in mind on private farm property. If you stay on the county access roads you have nothing to worry about. I'm sure the "no trespassing" signs will pop up as sightseers and eco-terrorists start frequenting the area.

Winter Drive in Naperville,IL pm0501 2010-01-07 | Test Video.. I was out shopping Thursday afternoon and decided to try out the video feature on my Canon A1100 IS. I also wanted to practice using Windows Moviemaker for You Tube publishing. I normally use the Mac Book for this. Naperville does a great job with snow removal. What you are seeing here is a result of constant plowing from about 4 AM - noon. You still have to use caution but, you're not likely to get stuck if you use common sense!

Construction Zone Speeders pm0501 2009-08-20 | Just for kicks, I took a drive on I-88 between Naperville and Aurora, IL to videotape how many motorists refuse to comply with the 45 MPH construction zone speed limits. The non-compliance rate is running about 99%. During this test, I locked the cruise control on both 55 and 45 where applicable. I passed no one. The Tollway authority misleads the public by putting up "Video Speed Enforcement" signs in construction zones but in reality, there isn't enough money in the budget to enforce this law. I did see one motorist had gotten stopped in the Westbound lane on my return trip but,traffic was blowing past him like he wasn't even there. The sound has been removed. I didn't think the viewers were interested in listening the Rush Limbaugh while watching this.
