I’ve been working on a rooster-themed placemat and table runner set featuring the Garden Gate Rooster panel designed by Susan Winget. I also started a new cross stitch with the sweetest vintage vibe, “Life is sweet" and made some good progress on my WIPGO project, Chicken Feed Sack. Maybe it is because of the warm weather that has compelled me to work on my cross stitch projects, the A Year at Hawks Run Hollow is near to completion. The garden is now producing food for summer salads, we have an abundance of lettuce and radishes which has given me the impetus to start stitching seed packet inspired cross stitch patterns which I hope to fashion into small pillows to decorate my Welsh dresser. My Beatrix Potter inspired quilt has been languishing for some time now and so I decided to work on a block that features the tailor of Gloucester with that includes embroidery and tinting with wax crayons. knitting was taking a back seat however 2 new projects have been started that are manageable with the current hot climate. Every day is an applique, will I get this quilt finished? What Mandy made next 2023-08-21 | Hello and welcome to what Mandy made next, I love to knit, crochet and sew. I have quite a few works in progress on the go to share with you. Last year I attended a series of workshops (block of the month) at Liberty Bell to make the Riverside Knoll quilt which is designed by Kim Diehl. I fell behind and have just picked this back up, I have now finished instalment 5 so I was approaching the finish line when I decided to redo the blocks in Instalment 1. I was not pleased with my initial applique and so every day I have been stitching these blocks again. At one of the workshops a kind lady told me about the starch method, therefore I decided when I redid the applique to use this technique and share with you the process.I have also sorted out 2 projects for my WIPGO and feel quite optimistic that I can get some green squares on my board. Episode 20:- Enjoying the slow pace of stitching What Mandy made next 2023-05-11 | Everything these past two weeks has involved stitching by hand. The hand quilting of the baby quilt has taken over most of my crafting time, this has been enjoyable and has allowed me to enjoy the quiet, calm moments. My new cross-stitch has been beckoning me to work on it early in the morning and when I have a spare moment, it is truly beautiful. Even the completion of the knitted dress involved stitching.
