Here is a demonstration of Mario Kart 64 running at 60 frames per second. The original code/Patch only modified the games' timings making it run at half speed @ 30 FPS. Having the emulator run at 200% or 60 FPS would make the game run at "normal" speed. A big side effect of this would result in audio always playing at double the speed. I added two more lines of code that fix MOST audio timings. Basically the audio runs at half speed as well, so when you double the speed in the emulator it runs sound at normal speed. It's not a clean solution as I'd say ~90% of the audio is fixed. Final lap music does not work unfortunately.... It plays at normal speed. Voice samples always play at normal speed, so they play fast even with the audio fix. I think the best way to fix the sound is to slow down the audio and pitch and have the emulator adjust the speed/pitch. As of now emulators run the sound with static and popping sounds @ 200% speed. I played this in slow motion and had the video editor double the speed since my computer is not fast enough for HD 60 fps capture.
P.S. I'm still tweaking the code as I feel the audio still plays to fast....

Bowser's Castle has unfair A.I. because it allows the A.I. to make perfect 90 degree turns. The corkscrew obeys game logic to prevent an infinite loop. Game logic is obeyed at ALL times during the sharp turn where the ramp and segment wear Peach's castle is located. This is to prevent accidental cheating. For example a CPU racer could slip on a banana a slide off the track and float over to the other landing are where the ramp is at; A.I. cannot fall down off-screen. Game logic is respected in areas where different segments of the track are in proximity. This was done by design to "prevent" the A.I. from accidentally cheating if it were to slip on a banana and pass through the barriers and skipping major parts of the track. The big jump will obey logic to prevent the A.I. from going into an infinite loop. The graphics engine of Mario Kart 64 is capable of outputting at a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9. The code I will provide was created by me Jorge Luis and wanted to share it with those who love Mario Kart 64. It's my favorite game in the world, although I know that there are many flaws that make the newer releases superior to the N64 version. I created this code by accident while going through the address values. It turns out the graphics engine can output in anamorphic widescreen. All race tracks including polygons, character sprites, objects, items are scaled properly. The only thing that is not scaled is the HUD. This is not an emulation hack as the following codes work in an actual N64, provided that a gameshark is used. Set the TV in a stretched format to properly scale to 16:9. On Project 64 set the graphics plugin to stretch the image to scale properly. Make sure a 16:9 resolution is used. Changing the values allows for different aspect ratios.
16:9 Video Output: 1P, 3P and 4P: 81150148 3FDF 2P: 81150148 4060
DO NOT USE THEM TOGETHER AS THEY WILL CONFLICT; THEY ARE THE SAME ADDRESS WITH DIFFERENT VALUES. 2P MODE SCALES DIFFERENTLY AND WAS MODIFIED ACCORDINGLY.
UPDATE: May 17 2016 Here is an updated code that will make widescreen mode between modes seamless: D00DC533 0000 81150148 3FDF D00DC533 0001 81150148 4060 D00DC533 0003 81150148 3FDF D00DC533 0004 81150148 3FDFMario Kart 64 - Unused Code: Bomb Warningsuperluigikart2014-07-05 | This video shows an unused multi-player feature. Bomb warning notification. This may have been a feature of one player mode as it will only display if the active display is set to one player. At first I thought it may have been a bomb item, but I realized that the icon appears only when you're near a bomb, so it can't be an unused item. Also, touching an item box crashes the game, so I avoid them throughout the video. It's also possible to playback game music in multi-player. It's not perfect as it causes audio glitches.
Edit: June 21, 2015
Here is how you can reproduce the feature using your real n64 or emulator.
This is the code: 880DC53B 0001
How to use the code: 1. Set up a 4P or 3P game. 2. Once the game is up and running press the GS button on the gameshark or F9 button on the keyboard if you are using Project 64. 3. Cycle through the HUD display until the Small player icons that follow the perimeter of the screen are showing like on the video. 4. The bomb icon should now be showing. 5. DO NOT touch item boxes as this will crash the game!Mario Kart 64 - Unused Code: Drifting A.I.superluigikart2014-07-05 | Mario Kart 64's A.I. is very basic. Some may say primitive compared to other similar games. Rampant cheating is what Mario Grand Prix are known for. Here in this video Luigi will demonstrate the incomplete drifting code. The letter "V" appears when the CPU attempts to drift. It's rather basic as it does nothing more. The letter "E" never appears, so the A.I. never gets a boost. Some tracks do not even have drifting programmed into them such as Rainbow Road. Nintendo might have scrapped drifting in favor of infinite drafting, which is what the A.I. uses in the final version of the game.Mario Kart 64: A.I. with no cheating allowedsuperluigikart2014-07-05 | Do you ever wonder what Mario Kart 64 would have been like if the games' A.I. was not allowed to cheat? Well wonder no more! Player One is the C0 state, which means he is human controlled. Player Two though Eight is CPU controlled with a state of D0 which is actually unused in the game. It's a hybrid between Human/CPU. Items from the item box do register, but since the game does not have an active window for each A.I player the items cannot be used. Probably a RAM/CPU limitation since using D0 state for all A.I. players is extremely CPU intensive. In real hardware there would be noticeable slowdown. The normal CPU state is 90 and we all know what that A.I. is like! In the D0 state the A.I has a lot more animations such when lakitu is respawning them. They also have drifting abilities, but it's incomplete and do not boost. I'll upload a video showing the A.I. unused basic drifting later. Anyways the A.I. is not allowed to cheat like it normally does, so would you really want a fair A.I.? I think not.Super Mario Bros Bonus Room Music Arrangementsuperluigikart2013-12-05 | Super Mario [Luigi] Bros. Bonus Room Arrangement Casio WK-200Mario Kart 64 - Banshee Boardwalk Cheating A.I.
