As such, great care has gone into modeling the most distinctive and desirable sonic characteristics of three different types of delay circuits: Tape, Bucket Brigade, and Crossfading Digital.
A plethora of onboard controls enable you to dial in exactly the sound you want; synced or un-synced delays times (for both left and right channels); saturating input drive; a built-in modulator with 7 morphing waveshapes, Wow & Flutter emulation, and an envelope follower; plus dedicated low- and high-pass filters; built-in hiss & crackle noises; per-model color controls; a spacious reverb; and a re-configurable signal flow through the unit. In addition, attenuverted modulation inputs abound — ensuring the delay ebbs and flows with your musical needs.
Features: - Three Unique delay models — Tape, Bucket Brigade, and Crossfading Digital - Per-model Color, Modulation behavior, and Saturation/Limiting - True Stereo delay with separate L/R buffers - Three Stereo configurations (PONG, Time/Width, L/R) - Three Range variations for short Chorus/Flanger style delays to Long ambient repeats. - Up to 6(L) and 8(R) seconds of delay time (Width can add up to 33% to Time) - Built-in modulator with Wow & Flutter, Envelope Follower, and 7 morphing wave shapes - Lush 1970s-inspired reverb with 3 insert positions. - Saturating input drive with level trim - Stable external clock (or tap tempo) sync for Delay Times or Modulation - Highpass and Lowpass filters for filtered repeats - Freeze functionality for holding the buffer and looping - Nine CV inputs with attenuverters - 96 kHz 24-bit Stereo I/O and 32-bit floating point internal processing
Tangrams, like our Dual ADSR before it, is a dual analog core-envelope inspired by the Roland SH-101 / System 100m design with several enhancements. Taking further inspiration from trapezoidal function generators like the one on the EMS Synthi, we have added a voltage-controlled pulser circuit to link the triggering of two envelopes – allowing for delayed one-shots, cycling organic envelopes, and more. In addition, we’ve added two VCAs for level control of each envelope, or alternatively, direct injection of the signal you’d like to envelope – freeing up your other VCAs.

Output A of Metropolix (CV A) has been patched to modulate the ENVELOPE A time. It is used to shorten the envelope right when the sequence is doing a faster ratcheting. The Metropolix clock output is patched to the Cascadia S&H trigger which is used to modulate the filter cutoff. The second Pitch output of Metropolix (PITCH B) is used to sequence VCO B of Cascadia. VCO B SAW is mixed into the first channel of the Mixer as an additional melodic layer. The Strymon Timeline is connected to the final output for some added delay fx.

intellijel.com/shop/eurorack/metropolixMetropolix - First lookIntellijel2021-02-15 | The Intellijel Metropolix is a unique and powerful Eurorack format musical sequencer. With an abundance of hands-on, tactile controls and a wealth of modulation possibilities (both internal and external) you can quickly and easily create infectiously musical sequences that are never boring. Even the simplest riff can be brought to life with seemingly endless options to create variations or real-time manipulations. Equally at home in the studio or a live improvised performance, the Metropolix is sure to become a staple source of fresh ideas and killer riffs in your creative process.
On first blush, it appears to be a simple 8-stage sequencer — but there is far more functionality than first meets the eye:
● There are two tracks (TRK 1 and TRK 2) that are variants of the single master pitch/gate sequencer, which is programmed via the PITCH sliders, PULSE COUNT and GATE TYPE switches. Each track interprets the master sequence in a variety of ways — creating complementary sequence variations that enable you to generate counterpoint, polyrhythms, and all manner of sonic movement (both subtle and extreme). Each of these tracks has its own playback ORDER, sequence LENgth, clock DIVision, SWING amount, SLIDE time, and track GATE lengths. Other track-based sequence variables are accessible from the TRACK MENU, and include Pitch Slider inversion; sequence note range; track transposition; and more. In addition, Tracks 1 & 2 both have multiple lanes of per-stage playback parameters, including: GATE override; PITCH override; RATCHet count; PROBability of playback; ACCUMulating transposition, and a dedicated CV lane. Each stage also has a SKIP feature, and a pitch SLIDE option.
● 8 separate and individual MODulation lanes are accessed via the MOD button. Each MOD lane has 8-stages of modulation values and its own playback ORDER, LENgth, and clock DIVision; and each lane is routable to one of Metropolix’ two assignable outputs or to dozens of internal destinations, allowing for some sophisticated and powerful self-modulation.
● A trio of AUX inputs allows for external modulation of user-assignable sequencer parameters for even greater variation, while two assignable CTRL knobs give you direct access to the parameters you want to adjust most frequently during a performance. With dedicated Pitch/Gate outputs for both Track 1 and Track 2; two totally user-assignable outputs (A and B); and internal MOD routing, Metropolix features a wealth of patching opportunities.
● Metropolix also features a Loopy mode, allowing you to instantly play back short sub-sequences, or even “play” the stage buttons directly (like a ‘keyboard’).
● Metropolix stores up to 64 preset configurations (in 8 banks of 8 presets), and all live settings are stored in EPROM, ensuring that your Metropolix will always power up exactly as you left it — even if you haven’t saved them to a preset. By default presets can change all the structural (menu-based) elements of your sequencer without overwriting the front panel controls, but full recall is also available.
● The operation of the Metropolix is optimized for live performance and jamming, with quick access to all the most important performance parameters, and the ability to greatly affect your sequences with a single slider or switch.

Multi-FX 1U provides three carefully crafted and highly musical sounding delay based FX in a compact 1U package. Powerful on its own but even more fun as par of a bigger fx chain that could include the Digiverb 1U, Pedal I/O 1U and other 3U FX modules like the Rainmaker and Springray for some dub craziness.
Features Three FX modes: DELAY – tap/clock syncable, controls for rate/division, tone (feedback low pass filtering), and feedback amount CHORUS – controls for modulation rate, tone (brightness) and modulation depth PLATE REVERB – controls for pre-delay, tone (brightness), and decay time Stereo Wet/Dry balance for all three FX mode
Tête is the long awaited and highly anticipated expander for the Tetrapad. Tête takes control of Tetrapad’s mode selection and operating functions, allowing Tetrapad to do what it does best — act as a control surface, which it does both for controlling external modules and for interfacing with the advanced processing power within Tête.
Tête + Tetrapad operates in one of three different modes—
Voltages Up to 16 voltage storage locations (grid) with 8 voltages stored at each location. You have the choice to record and playback your recall of these locations in a looper style (just play freely and spend arbitrary amount of time at any location) or as a clocked sequence (SH-101 style). Additionally you can traverse the matrix using the X and Y CV inputs to get Cartesian style sequencing. There is also variable slew that allows you to morph/glide between the values.
Notes You can create sequences or loops in chord, scales or keyboard mode. The isomorphic keyboard grid can be set to 4, 12, or 16 notes. There are real-time performance looping, transposition and inversion capabilities via the CV inputs and dedicated loop button. In sequencer mode each step can be a tie, rest, or gate with size 25/50/75%. Basically we have created a way to very quickly and intuitively make chord sequences that are very musical and easy to manipulate. It is difficult to summarize in words but we will be sure to create some videos to demonstrate how easy and fun this is to play with. It definitely represents something unique in the landscape of Eurorack sequencers.
Combo In this mode you can loop record your performance on any combination of the following functions: fader, bipolar fader, crossfader, euclidean sequencer, toggle switches or LFO. Kind of like Elektron style parameter locking but all of the motions is recorded continuously instead of just in slices. Instantly turn a simple patch into a highly animated and complex beast. The chosen function determines the type of signal (CV, note, trigger, gate, etc.) sent from each of Tetrapad’s eight independent outputs, while its multitude of multi-colored LEDs keep you informed of exactly what’s happening within each mode.

The Intellijel Quadrax consists of four independent, CV-controllable channels, each of which can be configured to perform any one of the following functions:
an AD (Attack, Decay) envelope an AHR (Attack, Hold, Release) envelope a cycling envelope (resulting in a unipolar LFO) a pulse burst generator (Finite repeated functions that ascend or descend in amplitude) a morphing, bipolar beat syncable LFO The envelopes all feature a continuously variable response curve, ranging from logarithmic through linear to exponential, and each stage can be as snappy as 0.3 ms to as lengthy as 20 seconds.
When set to Burst mode, the channel generates a rising or falling burst of pulses, with full control over the length of the pulse burst, the number and shape of the bursts within it, and whether the bursts increase or decrease in amplitude over the burst.
AD, AHR, Cycling and Burst modes all feature a user-selectable maximum output level of either 5V or 10V.
LFO mode offers control over the frequency and waveshape, while providing a unique morphing feature that creates numerous variations of the selected waveshape. LFOs can be either free-running or beat-synchronized using the channel’s TRIG input.
Channels can be chained together to create complex multi-stage envelopes, with each channel triggered by the previous channel’s trigger input, end-of-rise, or end-of-fall. This enables multiple function generators to fire simultaneously, or it enables the creation of complex multi-stage envelopes by allowing the linked function to fire either at the end of the previous function’s rise time, or at the end of its fall time.
Four freely-assignable, step-attenuverted CV inputs are capable of modulating any or all of the various parameters across all four channels using the built-in CV matrix, and built-in attenuversion for each assignment.
Quadrax remembers its current state (Mode and CV assignments, channel links, etc) and retains that state even if power is removed, meaning Quadrax will always turn on in exactly the same state as you last left it.
Use the optional Qx module to add individual outputs for each channel’s End-of-Rise and End-of-Fall triggers.

#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerFSR 1U - Force Sensing ResistorIntellijel2019-11-04 | The Intellijel FSR, or Force Sense Resistor, is an expressive touch pad that can be used to control your patches in a number of ways. It offers a CV output that responds to changes in pressure on the pad by outputting up to five volts, along with a gate output that holds open as long as the pad is touched. You can either press the pad to modulate elements in your patches, or tap it to trigger things. However you use it, it's sure to add a personal touch to your sound.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerDual VCA 1UIntellijel2019-08-29 | The Voltage Controlled Amplifier or "VCA" is one of the most essential and useful building blocks in a synthesis patch. The DUAL VCA 1U packs two high quality, DC coupled, linear VCAs into a very compact 1U package.
The two VCAs can be used completely independently or in tandem via the handy signal normalling. The DC coupling means that the VCA can be used for the amplitude control of both control voltages (CV) and audio signals.
Some application/use examples:
Dual, independent VCA for dynamic level control of two different audio or cv sources Stereo VCA (use the CV normalling where CV A normals to CV B) for processing stereo sources or CV pairs. CV/Audio summing (when Out A is not patched, it normals to sum with OUT B, CV A and B control the independent levels) Voltage/signal doubling (use input A only and the doubled voltage will appear at OUT B when a CV of +5V applied to CV A)
Features:
Two high quality and precise linear VCAs DC coupled LEDs to indicate CV level IN A normalled to IN B CV A normalled to CV B OUT A normalled to sum with OUT B Compact size Skiff / Palette friendly

This video demonstrates a few tips to make things easier.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerStereo Line Out 1UIntellijel2019-08-14 | Use the Stereo Line Out 1U system to send audio from your modular synth into power amplifiers, mixers, audio interfaces, DAWs, and other such audio gear. The system works with both balanced +4 dBu professional audio products; and with -10dbV unbalanced gear.
Triplatt is a three-channel active/buffered attenuverter and summing mixer. Each channel has a knob, which can function as a unipolar attenuator or a bipolar attenuverter, depending on the setting of its corresponding two-position polarity switch. It’s a versatile and super handy utility module that will find its way into almost any patch you make!
Each input is normalled to a built-in +5V DC voltage source. With nothing plugged into the jacks, each knob controls a voltage range of 0 to +5 V or -5 to +5 V depending on the position of the channel polarity switch.
Each output is normalled to mix into the output of the channel below, making it possible to do sub mixes in groups of two or three.
In addition, each channel has a “special function” switch to alter its input voltage in a specific way. Channel A has a 2x voltage multiplier switch, allowing you to double the voltage sent into Channel A. Channel B has a +5V switch, allowing you to add 5V to whatever voltage is sent into Channel B. Channel C has a mute switch, allowing you to completely turn off the signal being sent into Channel C.
Features Triple Attenuator / Inverter / Attenuverter / Multiplier / Adder / Mixer / DC Voltage Source Two Modes for each channel (Positive or Bipolar) Additional “special function” for each channel Precision 5v source normalling to all three inputs Dual color led for monitoring each individual output Skiff / Palette friendly
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerIntroduction to OutsIntellijel2019-07-11 | Outs enables your modular system to output both professional and prosumer compliant audio, and send it to external amplifiers, mixers, recording devices, or DAW interfaces. Using the L+R Level knob, it scales modular-level voltages down to the level required to drive external gear at either the +4dBu balanced professional line-level standard or the -10 dbV unbalanced standard.
Headphone monitoring is also provided via a low noise built-in headphone amp (with its own independent level control), capable of driving a wide range of impedances — from studio grade headphones to portable style earbuds.
To use Outs, simply connect the final output of your patch to the ⅛” inputs (where the built-in activity LEDs light up to indicate the presence and intensity of the input signal). The left input is normalled to the right, so you can create a stereo signal from a mono source. Or if you have an Intellijel Mixup, you can remove a jumper from its rear panel, and connect it to the Outs module using the 3-pin link cable included with the Mixup.
Features Headphone amp capable of driving high impedance headphones via a 1/4″ stereo Neutrik jack. Two channel, +4dBu balanced line level outputs on TRS 1/4″ Neutrik jacks (fully compatible with -10 dbV unbalanced audio gear). Left input is normalled to the Right input, allowing a mono input signal to drive both stereo output channels. LEDs to monitor the modular-level signal sent into the device. Attenuator knob for the line out level, plus a separate volume control for headphones. 3-pin link connector on the back for connecting the output of a Mixup module directly to the Outs module.Selecting Plonk Presets With Steppy Walkthrough TutorialIntellijel2019-07-03 | Plonk's "Drum Kit" presets take advantage of using preset selection as a MOD destination to set up 4-piece virtual drum kits. Steppy's 4 sequencer tracks are a great way to trigger presets to create fun drum grooves from a single Plonk. A mixer is required to blend the gate signals before sending them to the MOD input, so Quad VCA and Quadratt work perfectly for this. Then you can set the input level of each track to select your desired preset.Taking advantage of Plonk's Probability, Loopy, Per Track Length, Swing, and other features can make this even more fun!

#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerPlanar 2 Gets Generative With Planar 2, Scales and SteppyIntellijel2019-06-05 | Here's a fairly simple generative patch. This one uses the Shapeshifter PULSE output to clock Steppy and drive the whole thing. Steppy is sending gates to trigger the Rubicon and Plonk Voices, but also clocking Rainmaker and triggering quantization of Scales.
The melodies are being generated by Quadra's function generators 3 and 4 sent to Scales in Dual quantizer mode. Planar is controlling the rate and range of these melodies. Shapeshifter's RATIO is set by the X-axis to determine the rate of the pulses clocking the system. Planar's Y-axis is controlling the CV Level of two channels of Quad VCA to scale the Quadra envelopes before they go to Scales for quantization. This means that fast trills can be produced by moving the joystick towards the top right, and melodies slow and become more simple as it travels to the bottom left.
Selecting different PULSE output options on Shapeshifter, or changing the patterns on Steppy can change the rhythm of the patch. This patch is a great starting point to make a more complex generative patch since the voices have no filtering or modulation at this point and Planar has many more functions that can be implemented.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerUsing Planar 2 As A Burst Generator To Create RhythmsIntellijel2019-05-30 | By recording a series of gate button presses, Planar can function as a burst generator to rhythmically trigger sounds or other events in your patches. Recordings can be looped or played once when triggered. They can even be played using an LFO in Scan mode to create more wild and unpredictable rhythms.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerOrganic Handmade Envelopes With Planar 2Intellijel2019-05-30 | Because Planar 2's X&Y outputs each go from 0 - 10 V while travelling from the bottom left to the top right, they can be used to create two simultaneous envelope shapes. By recording a gesture and playing it back either manually, or by triggering it, you can use Planar as a dual envelope generator with shapes made by you, by hand.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerTurning One LFO Into Six Using Planars Scan ModeIntellijel2019-05-28 | With nothing connected to the inputs, Planar's ABCD outputs each send 10v when the joystick pans to that quadrant. This gives you a total of 6 CV control outputs. By recording a gesture and playing it back using an LFO in Scan Mode, you can control the rate of modulation to all 6 outputs using that single LFO. It's almost like turning one LFO into 6!
Because Planar has four inputs and four outputs, it can be used to crossfade between two stereo signals. In this patch two Rainmakers are generating rhythmic delay patterns from Plonk and Planar is able to fade between the two.Scanning From Blips to BleepsIntellijel2019-05-23 | Planar's Scan Mode takes a recorded gesture and uses CV1 to determine the rate and direction of playback. Using Quadra and varying the ATTACK and DECAY times can either race through the recording fast enough to make it percussive, or stretch it out to a glacial pace. Additionally, CV2 determines the linearity of the timeline when determining the playback position. Playing with these two inputs is a great way to create interesting rhythmic variation in your gesture recordings.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerPlanar 2 Effect PanningIntellijel2019-05-23 | Planar 2's four outputs are great for dynamically routing a signal to four different effects. In this patch we have Shapeshifter's wavefolder on C, Rainmaker's comb delay section on D, Morgasmatron filtering and distortion on A, and Rainmaker's rhythm delay section on B. Scales is sequencing Rubicon to produce the melody.Further Evolving Stereo Panning With Planar 2Intellijel2019-05-23 | ** Headphones Recommended **
This video continues on from the concept of the previous video. Two Plonks are sent to Planar to be panned left to right, but also crossfade between them. This time Dixie 2+s are being used to trigger the two Plonks and Planar 2's X-axis is controlling the rate of the two Dixies. This rate control is inverted for one Dixie, so as one speeds up, the other slows down. This means that any movement of the joystick produces a new rhythm with the Plonks. Like in the previous video, the Dixies are modulating the X & Y axis of Planar to create complex panning and crossfading.
Planar 2 creates some interesting possibilities for panning. In this patch we take two mono Plonks as sources and pan them each to stereo outputs using X-axis modulation from a Dixie 2+. We also crossfade between the two sounds using Y axis modulation with another Dixie 2+. The Plonks are being triggered simultaneously by Noise Tools 1U. This allows us to pan left to right and fade between the two sounds to create a complex and evolving soundscape that sounds almost three dimensional. Adding a bit of modulation to the PITCH and MOD inputs makes things even more interesting.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerPolar Panned PercussionIntellijel2019-05-21 | Because polar panning in stereo fades things in and out while panning side to side, with percussive elements it can create interesting rhythmic variations. Add a stereo delay like Rainmaker for even more ear candy!Planar Quadrature CVIntellijel2019-05-16 | Because Planar 2's ABCD inputs are normalled with 10 V, if nothing is connected to the inputs, each quadrant will send a 10 V signal. This means that the ABCD outputs can be used as interrelated CV control sources. As you move from one quadrant to another, the voltages rise and fall from one output to another. This is great for creating complex "quadrature" modulation.Panning With Planar 2Intellijel2019-05-16 | Planar has a number of fun and unique ways of approaching stereo panning. In this video we walk through a few options to spread out your soundstage.
TIP: toggle the ABCD and XY buttons to OFF state if you want to center the joystick position and control all the panning by external CV only.Rubicon & Dixie FM Routing With PlanarIntellijel2019-05-08 | Planar is a fantastic tool for routing modulation. In this example Rubicon and Dixie are cross modulated by feeding the A and C inputs with FM modulation being sent from the B and D outputs. This means that quadrant B modulates the Dixe's FM1 input with Rubicon, D modulates the TZFM of Rubicon with Dixie, and the other quadrants fade out the modulation.
A sequence from Scales is sending a melody to Dixie, which is also clocking Steppy, and Steppy's OUT A is providing the TRIG in to clock the Quantizer.
#intellijel, #eurorack, #modular, #synthesizer
Planar's X and Y outputs are controlling Scales Pitch inputs, so with the XY button off, no new notes are quantized for Rubicon. With it active, new notes are sent to Rubicon and things become more chaotic.Mixed Melodies With Steppy And ScalesIntellijel2019-05-07 | By mixing the gate outputs from Steppy through Planar, it's possible to generate a variety of melodies quantized by Scales. The second Dixie provides the clock, and it's pitch is controlled by both Scales OUT B and Planar's X-axis. Planar is also controlling Rubicon's WARP, µFold's FOLD & SYMMETRY, and opening the µVCA to allow a wider range of notes from Steppy to Scales. Using Steppy's LOOPY mode provides fun trills by repeating a step. Finally, a touch of delay adds a bit of spacey ambience.
#intellijel #eurorack #modular #synthesizerPlanar FM IndexingIntellijel2019-05-02 | Scales and Planar are a ton of fun together, and with them in a palette case it leaves enough room for 2 Dixies, a µVCA and µVCF. In this patch we're using Planar as an FM Index for the 2 Dixies with µVCF self oscillating as the modulation source.
Scales is playing a sequence, and the different trigger modes have a big impact on how things sound. All these factors combine to make this patch lots of fun to play!Scales Walkthrough Tutorial - Part 3 - Using the SequencerIntellijel2019-05-02 | This video wraps up our step by step walkthrough of how to use the Scales quantizer module from Intellijel.
