Allister BrimbleComposed by Allister Brimble for the video game Locomotion. I recently found a backup disk of my music for this game and luckily had saved 44khz versions of some of the 22khz tracks you find in the game. I particularly enjoyed composing the 80`s music.
Locomotion 80s music remaster (3 tracks) - PC OSTAllister Brimble2017-10-05 | Composed by Allister Brimble for the video game Locomotion. I recently found a backup disk of my music for this game and luckily had saved 44khz versions of some of the 22khz tracks you find in the game. I particularly enjoyed composing the 80`s music.XCOM ENEMY UNKNOWN Playstation 1 OST REMASTERAllister Brimble2021-05-18 | Composed originally by John Broomhall for the PC versions (Adlib, Roland etc) my work in 1995 for the PS1 was to remake and repurpose the instrumentation from scratch to CD quality, keeping only the MIDI data and also adding some new tracks. I used a Kurzweil K2000 synth along with a few sounds from a Korg O1. They all went direct digitally into my Soundscape DAW so the quality was pretty high for the time. The K2000 had a digital out and the O1 was plugged into the K2000. These are remastered for tonal balancing & volume.Locomotion OST 50s Style tracks x 2Allister Brimble2021-02-18 | These are the final tracks I have at high quality, remastered for slightly better listening today.
It's possible that Transport Tycoon legend John Broomhall played some of the piano riffs for me here. I hit on the saxophone by mistake.. it was a sequence I stumbled upon on a sound library that fitted perfectly against the background!Locomotion OST 70s styleAllister Brimble2021-02-16 | Remastered at CD quality with the addition of some tape saturation for a more 70s feel.Locomotion OST 20s style tracks (4 tracks)Allister Brimble2021-02-16 | Remaster of my Locomotion 20s tracks which I still had in high quality 44khz, even thought the game only played them at 22khz. Trumpet by Brian Moore Clarinet by John GlanfieldInSIDious TestAllister Brimble2020-07-24 | I've just this moment got my hands on Mike Clarkes amazing InSIDious C64 SID emulation VST, available from impactsoundworks.com so set about knocking up a quick test track. I wanted to make something a bit more modern that you may not have heard in the 80's although in particular wanted to try to make some better percussion than the impressive but more artificial sounding arpeggiated efforts used back in the day. I do have the luxury of as many SID's as I want but I note that the kick uses one channel and could have been used in a C64 game, although I've not heard it before. It's a filtered triangle wave with the waveform reset to make the click impact. I have to say, it ended up with a lot of 80's in it but with hopefully a modern vibe! Slightly random composition.. just testing out the sounds and could probably play with it more when I get time.Body Blows Galactic Amiga OST - Title ThemeAllister Brimble2020-05-06 | Remix of the Amiga original that I did for my Amiga Works album which is still available on bandcamp. The Driver Syndicate Main ThemeAllister Brimble2020-04-16 | My new Main Theme for Driver Syndicate.. the spiritual successor to Driver. The theme was crowd funded by members of the Driver community. Having just finished my Driver 1 & 2 remakes, it felt very natural to write a new track but I wanted to give it slightly more modern feel and beat whilst keeping the retro sound. The brass used this time, was all recorded using original 70`s recording techniques and has a bit more variation of playing styles than previous Driver tracks.
Check out the free game, which will soon have the new main theme added here:
The artwork you see is from the spiritual successor of Driver "Driver Syndicate" as the music will also be featured in the free game! You can find their website here: driver-syndicate.comDriver 1 New York at Night Original PS1 - Fast Tracker IIAllister Brimble2020-02-08 | Before I remix this I wanted to have a listen again inside Fast Tracker II that I used to compose it. You can see how simple it really is with only 8 notes playing at any one time! The whole track, including it's "chase" counterpart come in at only 300kb on a PC and 90Kb once compressed to .VAG for Playstation.Driver 1 Playstation OST - Los Angeles At Night - Drive & Chase Themes remasteredAllister Brimble2020-02-03 | Recently a driver fan (TecFox) managed to rip AND decompress my original work from PS1 Driver. I had lost it so this has meant I've been able to start reworking them. Here is the first remix.
It was particularly important to me to remake these tracks as the originals never played correctly on the PS1 as they were missing instruments and some sounds played at incorrect pitches.
I intend to remix them all and make them available on band-camp etc. I may improve on this track yet, but I'm mostly there, mixing the original sounds back with new and reworking a few parts that were clearly out of place.Driver 2 PS1 - OST Re-master PreviewAllister Brimble2020-01-31 | Here's one of the tracks (both drive part and chase part) that I've re-made for Driver 2. All tracks now available at allisterbrimble.bandcamp.com/album/driver-2-20th-anniversary The original was made as an XM module (Real time separate instrument sample's played back in 8 channels) and I've managed to re-use the original guitars for authenticity, which were all at a good quality. I'm also looking into redoing some of the Driver 1 tracks when I get some spare time.Rebel Racing OST Menu ThemeAllister Brimble2020-01-21 | My latest work from the game Rebel Racing (C)2019 Hutch Games. Out now on all major formats. Plenty more music in the game in many different styles!Table FootballAllister Brimble2019-05-20 | I enjoyed making this track. From my history I'd worked on several soccer games, including those by Dino Dini, and this was the most satisfying for me. Available on Sony Vita only.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3DS Title ThemeAllister Brimble2018-08-24 | I created this title theme in 2013 for the 3DS. I'd just had a new orchestral instrument set and was keen to play with the staccato strings! The Italian Job PS1 - Self Preservation Title Theme XMAllister Brimble2018-08-23 | This was an 8 channel XM I did for the video game Italian Job of PS1 in 2001. It was a step up from the Driver tracks I'd done before in sound quality.Fluidity Menu Tune - Wii OST remasterAllister Brimble2018-08-23 | This is my Menu theme for Nintendo's Fluidity Game that I composed half the music for. It was all done in 16 channels of XM tracker (real time music using samples rather than CD audio), now updated with reverb effects and delays.Wizball TitleAllister Brimble2017-12-04 | From my recent album, "The Galway Works" Also features Jeroen Tel, Chris Huelsbeck & Mike Clarke. Enjoy the full album at allisterbrimble.bandcamp.com or at most digital & steaming services.Locomotion 70s track (PC OST)Allister Brimble2017-11-18 | This was the best of the 70s tracks from Locomtion that I still have at CD quality.

This was one of my later GAMEBOY Color titles and this time I used the re-definable sample channel to it's fullest, introducing various filtered waveforms along with more pulse width modulation. Since the Gameboy would produce a click every time the sample waveform was changed, I only changed it on the beat so the click would only ever be part of the percussion.Chicken Run Complete OST - Gameboy ColorAllister Brimble2017-10-04 | Transcribed & arranged from the film for 4 chip channels by Allister Brimble
In 2000 much of my console & PC work had stopped, but I noticed a gap in the market for handheld audio! The skills everyone else had forgotten I still had from the work I had done for Codemasters on the C64 & Spectrum. The skillset was very similar.. 4 channels of bleeps and have to make it sound good! For this I needed some incredibly good sound code and I asked my friend & big C64 fan Michael Delaney to create it for me. For Chicken Run I pretty much pushed the system to the max even creating a whistle sound and real time pulse width modulation (which hadn't really been done before on the system)Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Gameplay Music Remastered - PC OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-26 | Music by Allister Brimble 2002
Unfortunately these only exist at 22khz but I have brought back some missing top end frequencies and tidied them up with modern mastering techniques. Having them at 22khz in the game wasn't a bad thing as it meant they were slightly muted as they might be inside a theme park ride.
Excludes tracks I have already uploaded or have in high quality. Also excludes any tracks that were not by me or were included in my 1992 Album Sounds Digital (available on Bandcamp).

This was one of the most popular tracks in the game and I have remastered this version from what I could salvage from an MP3 I first created in 2000. I also added a few new notes on the last part and risers at the important points.Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Title Theme - PC OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-24 | Title theme composed by Alllister Brimble 2002
In 2002, Chris Sawyer asked me to work on the sequal to the very successful Rollercoaster Tycoon. My first task was to create a new title theme - it had to start sad then get happy to fit the openning sequence.
Since the only existing recordings are at 22khz I have remastered this a little to bring back from high frequencies.Rollercoaster Tycoon Title Theme - PC OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-24 | Composed by Allister Brimble in 1999
After my Amiga & SNES career things slowed down a little until in 1999 Chris Sawyer approached me to compose for the new Rollercoaster Tycoon! It was one of the most successful titles of all time. The only recordings I have are 8 bit but I have cleaned it up a little. The Lost Vikings Title & Intro - Amiga OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-24 | Music from the game The Lost Vikings released in 1993. Original tracks by Charles Deenon (SNES) arranged for Amiga by Allister Brimble. The Lost Vikings Level 1 - Amiga OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-24 | Originally by Charles Deenon on the S.N.E.S my job was to arrange this for 4 channel on the Amiga, released in 1993. It was the start of a good relationship with Interplay. I've slightly improved the sound output for better listening on today's equipment.Street Racer Level music (best of) & Hiscore - SNES OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-22 | Music by Allister Brimble - Made for the Super Nintendo in 1994 with custom sound driver. Slightly remastered for better listening on today's audio equipment.Street Racer Title Theme - SNES OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-22 | Music by Allister Brimble
It was 1994 and this was probably the most successful game of my SNES work era. I managed to find a new way to make the music seem higher quality by using much higher sample rate percussion whilst using some real time generated synth sounds and lo-fi samples for the rest. I have added a touch of reverb and mastering on this version for better listening on today's equipment.Dragon (The Bruce Lee Story) Credits - SNES OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-21 | Credits music by Allister Brimble.
For this track I used all 8 of the SNES's sound channels and also included some of the synth sounds (pulse width modulation with filter). I've slightly remastered the SNES output for better listening on today`s equipment.Dragon (The Bruce Lee Story) Title Theme - SNES OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-21 | Composed by Allister Brimble in 1993 for Virgin Games
After Lawnmower Man which I did using David Whitaker's sound driver I was contacted by Pete Hickman, now at Virgin Games to create the music for Dragon. The coder, Ronald Pieket also created me a brand new sound driver that could generate synth sounds and waveform`s, thus saving me loads of memory for more sampled sounds. This would later be used on Street Racer as well..SCREAMER Kill ya Granny Call The Police - PC OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-20 | We were asked to make this track for Screamer more aggressive! The producers style pointers are in the title!SCREAMER (level 1 theme remastered) - PC OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-20 | Composed by Allister Brimble & John Symonds in 1995 for the game Screamer - remastered as the original has no mastering at all!SCREAMER (menu theme remastered) - PC OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-20 | After my S.N.E.S work and a few Gameboy titles, the next milestone in my career was in 1995 when I was approached once again by Peter Hickman, now at Virgin Games. I was asked to create a series of red-book audio Rock Tunes to go with a stunning new 3D racing game along the lines of Ridge Racer. The guitarist John Symonds & I got to work. The percussion all came from a Kurzweil K2000 and everything was mixed down digitally on a Soundscape DAW.Wacko Jnr in WonderLandAllister Brimble2017-09-19 | Released in 1990 this was done soon after or alongside Alien Breed. The client had asked for banjo music but then I came up with the idea of having a whistle alongside it. The whistle itself is only 32 bytes long with added pitch bend, vibrato & A.D.S.R. The bells and other synth sounds were also tiny wave forms or real time generated. I've recorded this digitally from UAE emulator and then added a touch of reverb & increased the bass.Lawnmower Man (Virtual Reality) - SNES OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-17 | The virtual reality track from my first SNES project Lawnmower Man. Slightly remstered for better listenning on todays equipment.Lawmower Man (Streets & Suberbia) - SNES OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-17 | Remastered version of my tune for the 1993 SNES gameLawnmower Man (Main Theme) - SNES OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-17 | In 1993 I was very excited to be approached by Peter Hickman from Sales Curve who asked me to create the music for a S.N.E.S game. I didn't know how this was done so phoned David Whittaker who sold me his sound driver code and create my own S.N.E.S music. This is the main title theme.. I re-used some Alien Breed samples as well as creating some new one's. I had 6 channels to play with for the music so a real step up from the Amiga.. the downside being that the samples were ADPCM compressed and therefore lower quality. The SWORD and the ROSE - Amiga OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-16 | This was composed soon after Alien Breed for Codemasters. In having to make a more synthetic version of Breed that would fit in memory I started playing around with small wave-forms even more. Not only were they tiny (32 bytes each) but sounded very clear. I was clearly inspired by David Whittakers Spectrum 128 Magic Knight tunes at the time.Alien Breed Music Extended Edition - Amiga OSTAllister Brimble2017-09-16 | This was actually the first version of the Breed tune I wrote and lasted nearly 17 minutes. It was however 90Kb and needed to be cut down for the actual game. It does have a lot more variety and different samples in it so worth a listen.Overdrive - (Amiga OST)Allister Brimble2017-09-14 | Title Music from the Amiga game Overdrive composed by Allister Brimble in 1993Alien Breed II - (Amiga OST)Allister Brimble2017-09-14 | Alien Breed II Title Theme created in 1993 by Allister Brimble. This was Team 17's first Amiga title.Project X - (Amiga OST)Allister Brimble2017-09-14 | ...VoyagerAllister Brimble2017-09-14 | The first track from my 1993 album Sounds Digital. It was technically unusual at the time as it was one of the first uses of the Kurzweil K2000 synth and many of the sounds came digitally direct from the Kurzweil to DAT then CD meaning no analogue processes were used. Highly unusual even today.Alien Breed (Amiga OST)Allister Brimble2017-09-14 | Original music from the game Alien Breed composed by myself. Remastered for better listenning on hifi systems.
