This is proof positive in this video as you see the color and lines blend and fade out to become one with background color of the paper as I keep adding 99% Iso Alcohol to one end of my color puddle as I'm blowing it out. I mix my Tube Paint Colors 1part Paint to 2 parts Pouring Medium The "cell activator" is 1prt Amsterdam Opaque (In this case Oxide Black) mixed with 3prts School Glue pouring medium. For the Pigments I used Liquitex Gloss Varnish (Red Label) as a wetting agent and after the pigments are fully wet, I then mixed in 2prts School glue pouring medium just like my tube paints. You can add a Gloss Gel medium if needed to thicken them up. Getting Through the Ugly Stage - Alcohol Inks for Beginners #thursdaytrain #alcoholink Art By Julie E. 2025-02-20 | Alcohol Inks can be tricky, but the biggest lesson I learned (Thanks to my friend @justjanese4753 ) is to use more alcohol. I mix my Tube Paint Colors 1part Paint to 2 parts Pouring Medium The "cell activator" is 1prt Amsterdam Opaque (In this case Oxide Black) mixed with 3prts School Glue pouring medium. For the Pigments I used Liquitex Gloss Varnish (Red Label) as a wetting agent and after the pigments are fully wet, I then mixed in 2prts School glue pouring medium just like my tube paints. You can add a Gloss Gel medium if needed to thicken them up. Unleashing Creativity with Gel Prints #thursdaytrain @Daves-Acrylic-Creations @justjanese Art By Julie E. 2025-01-16 | Gel printing is a fun, and relaxing way to explore your creativity! We here on the Thursday Train want to show you just a few styles of gel printing. You can experiment with different so many different mediums that almost always produce amazing results, so make sure you video or take note of your pulls, in case you want to repeat a technique or color pallet. I'll be playing with dry pigments and Posca pens on 2 of my gel plates, a 5x7 and a 8x10in and using 2 different types of paper. One is Mulberry Paper and the other is tissue paper, but keep in mind that many other types of paper, work as well including good ol' copy paper. We too, have families, friends, and fellow artists we love being impacted by these fires. We've decided to go on with the train in the thought that it may be a much needed distraction from the stress and emotional pain we and many are feeling. I mix my Tube Paint Colors 1part Paint to 2 parts Pouring Medium The "cell activator" is 1prt Amsterdam Opaque (In this case Oxide Black) mixed with 3prts School Glue pouring medium. For the Pigments I used Liquitex Gloss Varnish (Red Label) as a wetting agent and after the pigments are fully wet, I then mixed in 2prts School glue pouring medium just like my tube paints. You can add a Gloss Gel medium if needed to thicken them up. Not only is this technique easy, but it also makes great gifts and is very sellable. Not everyone likes or gravitates towards the Abstract, so this technique is for those people in your life who need to literally see the subject matter (AKA Sparky). 😂💕 You don't need the Metal Silhouette like the one I'm using either. You can make your own by tracing and cutting a one out of dense poster board or plastic, but I like the metal ones because I can use it over and over again. Gorgeous Blowout using Recycled Runoff Paints @Daves-Acrylic-Creations @justjanese Art By Julie E. 2024-10-03 | Saving the runoff from your paintings is awesome! Not only are you helping the environment, but you're also helping your pocketbook. Plus, some of the colors that it creates are absolutely beautiful and unique as you will see today. I'm using some drips that came from last months painting for Nate's Art Lab. The pallet for it was a custom fall pallet with oranges, deep red and a beautiful deep blue. So imagine my surprise when I scrapped those drips up gave them a mix and saw a stunning light blue grey appear before my eyes 🤯😍 I'll be using that color for base of my blowout today along with other leftovers and recycled paints. I've mixed my pouring medium 70% WHITE Elmers School Glue to 30% Water. I mix my Tube Paint Colors 1part Paint to 2 parts Pouring Medium The "cell activator" is 1prt Amsterdam Opaque (In this case Oxide Black) mixed with 3prts School Glue pouring medium. For the Pigments I used Liquitex Gloss Varnish (Red Label) as a wetting agent and after the pigments are fully wet, I then mixed in 2prts School glue pouring medium just like my tube paints. You can add a Gloss Gel medium if needed to thicken them up. Nates Art Lab Collab September Challenge - My First Pour Back in Almost 5 months! Art By Julie E. 2024-09-23 | Hi Y'all! Today is my first pour in almost 5 months 🤯 But I'm excited to be back at it because I'm out of practice! I totally messed up and used the wrong recipe for this style of pour. I normally use a Floetrol recipe (I'll list that below) but I grabbed my school glue pouring instead and my cloud white broke. But all is not lost!!! It came out pretty cool and is going to inspire this Thursdays Train video with @Daves-Acrylic-Creations and @justjanese So be on the lookout for that! Abalone School Glue Cloud Pearl Bloom - Color of the Month with @NateBrightArt Turquoise Phthalo Art By Julie E. 2024-04-24 | I'm loving this technique so much! It's time for Nate and I to do our Color of the Month and this month Nate picked one of my favs...Turquoise Phthalo!!! That color combined with the School Glue Cloud Pearl Bloom technique came out stunning and looking like Abalone in my opinion. Eureka! School Glue Cloud Pearl Blooms Twofer - No House Paint, Aussie Floetrol or Gac 800! Art By Julie E. 2024-04-18 | I stumbled across something so cool and so fun a couple weeks ago and I can't wait to show it to you! School Glue Cloud Pearl Blooms!!! It was fluke, I thought at first! So, I tried it a few more times and Eureka!!! Not a Fluke!!! I'm sure I'm not the first to try a cloud pearl bloom, in fact after I did this, I searched YouTube for Cloud Pearls Blooms and found a couple of artists out there that have. But none using only School Glue, Water and Paint that I could find. I hope you enjoy this! My cloud Mixture is 3 and a half ounces of Artist's Loft Soft Body White, a half an ounce of DecoArt Americana Satin Enamels pure white, and 1 ounce of Vallejo Pearl medium. That creates 5ounces of paint so to that you will add 10ounces (Two Parts) of the School Glue Pouring Medium to that pearl white paint mixture. I mix my Tube Paint Colors 1part Paint to 2 parts Pouring Medium The "cell activator" is 1prt Amsterdam Opaque (In this case Oxide Black and Ultramarine Violet) mixed with 3prts School Glue pouring medium. For the Pigments I used Liquitex Gloss Varnish (Red Label) as a wetting agent and after the pigments are fully wet, I then mixed in 2prts School glue pouring medium just like my tube paints. You can add a Gloss Gel medium if needed to thicken them up.
