The bell casting event is unique, fun, and interactive, allowing the entire community to be involved.The bell will be poured, polished, and dedicated on-site. Using its one-of-a-kind “Bell Foundry on Wheels,” a special on-site casting process, The Verdin Company will enable the entire community to help create the custom bronze bell, and to experience the casting of the bell. DAY ONE: Casting of the BellThe Ingot Passing – The community will come together to pass bronze ingots one by one to the Verdin foundry crew. Over 500 pounds of bronze ingots will be loaded into the foundry furnace. In three to four hours, the furnace melts the bronze ingots into molten liquid. Events are narrated by Verdin. The Bell Pour - The community will watch molten bronze being poured into the custom-made bell mold, where it will cool and harden overnight.DAY TWO: Break out the Bell & DedicationBreaking Out the Bell - Watch as the bell mold will be broken by community groups, families, donors, sponsors, and local dignitaries, using a large sledgehammer to expose the bronze bell.Grind and Polish the Bell – The foundry crew will grind and polish the bell and finish the bell in 4-5 hours.Dedication Ceremony - Bell is dedicated and rung for the first time.

The night casting of The Spirit of Iowa Tribute Bell at the Iowa State Fair August 12th, by Verdin's world famous traveling bell foundry.The Spirit of Iowa Tribute Bell was broken out of the mold on Sunday, August 13th to reveal the bell. Verdin polished the bell at the state fair in front of thousands of fairgoers and prepared it for the unveiling, dedication, and first ringing by Kim Reynolds, Governor of Iowa, on Monday, August 14th.The 255-pound custom bronze bell will be a voice across the state of Iowa to honor Iowa Veterans, the men and women in our Armed Forces, and their families. Honor Bell Casting, May 9, 2016 Verdin1842 2016-05-10 | The Honor BellThe Honor Bell will be a 1,000-pound bronze bell cast with artifacts from Colorado’s military servicemen and women, and rung by Colorado’s veterans at funeral and memorial services. The first Honor Bell will be cast May 9th, of 2016 and dedicated on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016. When it is cast at The Verdin Company foundry, service related artifacts (dog tags, medals, badges, etc.) belonging to twelve deceased veterans from Colorado will be added to the molten bronze. These artifacts include a Medal of Honor Commemorative Coin, a Purple Heart Medal, a Combat Infantry Badge, and nine other items that represent every conflict since World War II, every branch of service, and both enlisted and officer ranks. The inclusion of these artifacts make the bell truly “Forged From Honor.”After the Memorial Day dedication, the Honor Bell will forever toll at Fort Logan National Cemetery during funeral and memorial services for veterans buried there. The Patriot Guard Riders will ride motorcycles 13 hours and 750 miles with the Marine Aviation Memorial Tower as it makes its way from Cincinnati, Ohio to Pensacola, Florida over two days. The Ohio riders will be joined by Patriot Guard Riders in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. 200+ riders from 6 states are expected to escort the tower before it arrives in Pensacola. The 30' Marine Aviation Memorial Bell Tower was built in the U.S.A. by the Verdin Company (http://www.verdin.com) of Cincinnati, Ohio. The Tower is the 3rd National Memorial to U. S. Marines and dedicated during a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, Pensacola, FL, on Sunday, August 19. The Memorial dedication commemorates the 100 years of Marine Aviation and honors all Aviation Marines. The bronze bell is the heart of the Marine Aviation Memorial Bell Tower, cast in Cincinnati by the Verdin Bell Foundry on Wheels, the only mobile bell foundry in the world. The sound of a ringing bell meant that emergency flight crews had to rush to a helicopter and come to the aid of the fallen on the battlefield no matter the circumstance. The bell clapper for the Marine Aviation Memorial Bell included the wings of seven fallen Marines. This National Memorial to Marine Aviation is spearheaded by the MCAA McCutcheon Squadron of North Carolina to honor those Marines that have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving. The Marine Aviation Memorial Bell Tower is funded by generous contributions from residents and community businesses in greater Pensacola Bay area.
