[Gun Violence] Scripted Storyboard (Class Assignment) Vyrewolf 2022-11-02 | Assignment for my storytelling for animation class where we were given a script (it was a cut opening scene from silence of the lambs, but we were told to treat it as if we didn't know the film existed, i.e., draw the characters how we want as long as it fits the script) and had to board it. Then we were given an audio file and had to edit the board to the audio, putting the boards next to their corresponding sound effects, which proved very tricky because, as you can see in mine, I didn't have a lot of frames for the beginning, but there was a lot of music before the explosion sound effect, and then I had a lot of frames for the gunshots, but there wasn't a lot of time in between them in the audio but oh well. This assignment was kinda hellish bc I had the flu for like half of the time we had to draw, and in general, it was a lot of tricky poses, I feel like I've learned a lot about action poses, though. ----------------My videos are aimed at a pg-13 audience. Kagerou Days | Bristlefrost PMV (Warrior Cats) Vyrewolf 2022-01-16 | Content Warning for flashing/rapidly moving images, TV static effect, and moderate gore/body horror (and of course spoilers for a light in the mist)HOO BOY BIG BOY PROJECT TIME I'M SO PROUD OF THIS U GUYS HAVE NO IDEA.Sorry for such a dry spell in uploads, like I said in my summary video I didn't get a ton of animation done in the last 4ish months partially because of animation block and other priorities, but also BECAUSE OF THIS BAD BOY. Ive been chipping away at this since the end of November. I got the idea after watching @forestwhisker and @cheesecakewitch's Additional Memory MV, which made me go listen to Kagerou Project songs and then because I had Bristlefrost and ALITM in my brain I suddenly got this idea SO CLEARLY (I didn't have my tablet for like a week so i frantically scribbled a storyboard in a note pad lol.)Anyways I'm here to ramble about my creative choices now lol. Firstly, I decided to add an extra moment that didn't happen in the book where Ashfur actually manages to escape and break the surface of the water, giving Bristlefrost the choice to also escape and hope Ashfur dies another way or double down and sacrifice herself. I didn't really understand why neither Ashfur nor bristle could get out the water when Rootspring did? So yeah always down to make more active protagonists. ALSO! My headcannon/interpretation of the evil dark forest water is the living cats who die in the water drown, but the main kicker of the water is that it destroys your spirit by literally ripping it to shreds. That's why we see Bristlefrost momentarily become a Starclan spirit after drowning before the water drags her back down to destroy her. I had a lot of fun working with the canon material but exploring it to a deeper level than they went into. The Dark forest's color palette is based on the original music video, except instead of pure black and white I used full range greyscale bc I needed stuff to work with lol. It was nice because most of the characters already had greyish colors except rootspring which makes the switch to the living world even more visually striking. I decided to only have him in color (well bris too, fun fact the yellow parts of her fur are the same yellows on rootsprings cuz they're like connected and in love or whatever) and everything else be pure black and white to portray his grief and a general disconnect from the living world after being through the horrors of the dark forest as if he brought the way he saw the world there back with him. ----------------My videos are aimed at a pg-13 audience. I hope you guys enjoy hearing my thoughts and seeing my Minecraft art lol (the sona on the right in the art belongs to Razmerry)MY AMAZON REVIEWThis is my first screen tablet, my only previous tablets have been a Wacom Intuos and Wacom Intuos pro. Although the learning curve was moderately lengthy for me (around a week) it was really fun rather than frustrating due to how intuitive and easy everything was to learn. I really love how it’s super customizable in terms of setup (custom colors to match your pc, custom hotkeys, pressure settings, different monitor mapping ect). Something that I’ve noticed is that it has no detrimental glitches/quirks, whereas anyone who's ever worked with a Wacom driver knows that it’s borderline unusable at times (which is surprising considering that Wacoms are more expensive and are the industry standard). The tablet has a few minor quirks, such as sometimes taking a little while to connect, occasional brush lag, or needing a bit of calibration every now and then, but compared to how both my Wacoms would often require multiple PC reboots to fix the issues, all of the Artisul's quirks were either easy fixes (ie calibration) or so insignificant that working with them became muscle memory (ie the very bottom row of pixels of the tablet are sometimes unresponsive, so I quickly learned to use my pen a smidge higher up and I now do so without even thinking,). I use firealpaca to draw, and in the software, this tablet behaved exactly the same as my wacoms in terms of pressure sensitivity, and actually drew smoother and required less stabilizer, which I am very happy with! The only time I believe the tablet being a cheaper alternative to a Cintiq shows is, after working with a Wacom pro pen, the Artisul pen feels slightly cheap and isn't as good at finer details due to the thickness of the nib. The pen nibs are also less secure than a Wacom and fall out more often (I press really hard on my pen and it's not unusual for me to knock pen nibs out for reference). On the flip side of this, the pen nibs don’t wear out as fast as a Wacom which is a huge bonus.You get so much for this tablet and you really can’t tell that it's a relatively less expensive alternative. The tablet screen is really nice and big, feels very natural to draw with, and has effective anti-glare. The hotkeys are super useful and the LED color wheel is such an awesome touch. It really didn’t need to be included for the price but it is which makes this even better of a deal. There are lots of things like that with this tablet, such as a neat tool for changing pen nibs and a glove that, even though it wasn't necessary to use the tablet, is useful and comfortable. My only complaint with what is included is that the cable is a little bit short for my particular set up. Since the tablet is a second monitor it needs to be plugged into the wall, as well as into your computer's USB and HDMI. My PC is on the floor so having to get the cable to reach from the wall to the pc and then up to wear the tablet sits on my desk was difficult. You wouldn't be able to use the tablet on your bed, for example, unless you had an extension cord or a socket near.Overall, I would give this tablet 4.5/5. The pen and the slight awkwardness of cables are my only negatives aside from standard quirks that come with any piece of technology (and as far as my experiences with tablets go it's the least glitchy!). Having a screen tablet has elevated my experience as an artist in so many ways. To me, this tablet is way better than getting a more expensive Intuos-style tablet as it offers so much more for a relatively smaller price increase.----------------My videos are aimed at a pg-13 audience. 2020 Animation Overview Vyrewolf 2021-01-01 | I have to admit, I was not looking forward to making this (I almost didn't make it at all but I didn't want to break a pattern) because it would just epitomize how unhappy I am with the amount I've gotten done this year, but what happened was quite the opposite. Although my improvement isn't as visible or my channel didn't grow as much, making this really put into perspective how much I achieved in this hell of a year. I lost my hard drive, every file I've ever owned since beginning art and animation, and managed to bounce back. I got through online school and dealt with the burnout. I got through my busiest semester of school. I submitted college applications, making individual portfolios, and got the acceptances I wanted. I finished a project of 2+ years. I went out of my comfort zone, all while living through the most nightmarish situation that epitomizes all my worst fears. I can tell it's getting less attention than my warriors stuff which I think is a shame cuz I'm passionate about the idea and the completed parts so far are stunningIm really proud of these parts. Its the first time I've ever fully animated these ocs even tho I've had em since I was 12! also it's only the 5th (?) time I've ever fully animated humans, and its the first time I've gone all out on shading and lighting for an AMV part! I'm especially happy with part 14, it stemmed from one of the many times I listened to a portion of a song over and over again and pictured something to animate for it and its one of the few times I gave myself an excuse to go through with it (yes I did make a whole map because I needed an excuse) and it came out pretty close to how I pictured it! I think (not gonna self diagnose) I have a bit of aphantasia in the sense I can picture vividly until I try to focus on said picture to draw it, and then it disappears. But this part was simple enough that I could act it out and get a really good grasp of what I was doing! Anyways I'm rambling bye----------------My videos are aimed at a pg-13 audience. I couldn't find a reference for the run cycle for AGES then I finally found a free cat running model and made the reference myself.
