Donkey Kong Junior 1147000 from Sept of 09 markydkiehl 2011-04-06 | This is the very back end of the DKJr game that topped Steve Wiebe's then record score of 1,139,000. I was recording at 1984 Arcade, and this was probably the 4th, and last, attempt of that day. I was fatigued and quite delirious at that point. If I recall correctly, I lost my last reserve life at little over 600k, so I didn't really think this game would go the distance but I played it out anyways. I knew I was on pace for the record and played just safely enough to cross the score.

If you wait (sometimes you don't have to) for a "short" spring to pass by you as you jump to the platform that has the ladder that allows you to get to the top platform, you can scab 100pts by jumping near the spring. Doing this really won't improve your overall score much if at all, but it is an interesting trick nonetheless.

The score is as far as I know the first ever 1.3 million achieved on the arcade platform.

Donkey Kong Jr. (arcade) Level 1-4 Strategy (Part 2) markydkiehl 2010-07-05 | On the Level 4 Hideout, when killing the red spark with the second apple, push a directional and if the timing is right, you will recieve 1200 for both sparks killed. Also try and kill 3 sparks with the top apple and proceed to the far left to jump sparks until the timer gets low, for max points. I didn't stay on the levels long, as watching that is boring as hell, so yeah there are a lot of lost points.
