DasBoSchittFor those of you who were looking for the exact figures on how much was made in revenue from the kitty0706 tribute video, prepare to be disappointed. You see, when I made the tribute video and prepared to donate the revenue from it, I realized too little too late that showing exact earnings one way or another would break contractual obligation and likely get me blacklisted from the current network and any other network that came along. However I couldn't just say, "Oh yeah, I didn't think about that, never mind, I'm not donating after all" because that would be a pretty dick thing to do. So instead, I stuck with the plan, late as it was, then rounded off, adding a random, undisclosed amount on top of the aforementioned $100. That way, basic math wouldn't reveal the exact figures and piss off my network.
There are reasons you don't see most content creators do this sort of plan when donating, and that's one big reason among others. If you as a YouTube content creator ever see the opportunity to donate for a cause you believe in, then I suggest instead doing the proven method of getting you and your viewership involved in donating whatever big or small you decide. You can keep a pool and donate it all at once at a set date, rather than dull out ad revenue donations in awkward chunks as the months pass and the views on the video keep coming. Not to mention, if you get enough people involved, you're also likely to wind up with a greater donation amount than the small amount YouTube pays out, especially to those who need a lot of time to make one video.
So again, I can't provide exact amounts and I can't disclose just how much extra I put in, aside from the extra $100. You'll just have to believe that the amount is genuine and that I would never short change a cause on behalf of someone we all miss dearly. Thank you all for your patience and don't forget to tell your friends how much they mean to you. Trust me, you may think it'll sound awkward coming from you, but they deserve to know and you'll wish you did if something ever happened to them.

In this tutorial, I show you a rough process of how I usually do lip sync, which should give you a pretty good idea of how it's usually done in a general animation sense as well. For those curious, the time lapse sequence actually took about 45 minutes real time to do. Your actual animation time may vary depending on the level of detail you wish to put forth in your lip sync.

So, by popular demand, here's my first ever Lets Play done in a style inspired by the Something Awful archives. The game is the focus here and I seek to be as informative and respectful to the game's tone as much as possible. If I can help it, aside from the ad at the beginning of the video, there will be no ad breaks in the middle, not even the small popup ones, so it's to preserve the immersion factor of the game. I do hear about mid-break ads getting out of the creator's hands from time to time, but I'm going to do my best to prevent that from happening.
Please keep in mind, this is not a replacement at all of my animation content. A common complaint I get is that I take forever to upload a video, and that of course, is simply due to the fact that animation takes infinitely longer to make than any sort of content out there, period. Unless people are looking to have the animation become really lousy, just plain "hurrying it up" is not something I can do. I already work 8+ hours every day on animation and each sessions may only yield 6 - 20 seconds of footage depending on what's being done. This is a side series that can have 20 minute episodes made in the span of about 5 - 8 hours each after all the post production. This will allow me to release an LP video once a week to tide people over while I continue to work on my animation content. I do hope you like it. If not, tell me.
Let me know what you think. I'll be taking suggestions and constructive criticism to help polish up this series, that is, if people favor it enough to continue doing.Know Your Schitt! Ahh, the good ol' Vicious Cycle meme. I know it's a bit of an older one, and unfortunately, it was relatively hindered by YouTube fixing the glitch that allowed videos to go on automatic repeat. Still, I wanted to contribute, late as it is, to one of the more clever memes we have, brought to us by Raikujo, this time with a class focused spin on it. Plus, I wanted to practice some new animation tools and techniques in GMod by way of a short video rather than a full length one. This episode took one full month to make, which is actually amazing considering the amount of resources and effort that went into this one. This was made possible by those supporting me at Patreon, who helped keep the roof over my head during the suspension of my day job situation. During the day job suspension period, I was able to work full time on this episode, so this was a particularly special video to me.
For those of you curious about the day job situation, I work security, which you need a license to do. Back in April, my security license was denied when my background check revealed a speeding ticket on my record. In order to get the license back, they have to review my case docket which proves the case has been resolved already over a year ago. After weeks and weeks of dealing with several departments dragging their heels and our extremely incompetent mail carriers putting items in the wrong goddamn mailboxes, things should finally be sorting itself out soon.
Also, the breakable prison map was custom made for this episode by Menderza. It was not a publicly available map.

In today's tutorial, we'll be learning about how to hide elements from within Garry's Mod that would otherwise distract from your machinima presentation. In order to do that, we'll be covering three methods:
What was to be a pretty simple promo video for Gorilla Gong, became quite an achievement in itself. I got to work with Takahata101 of Team Four Star on this one, I got great stop motion practice in with the dialogue segments and this is the first video to feature Russian translated closed captioning since I discovered Russia was often my #3 viewer demographic. This became a fun video to make and I hope to do more like it with the two antagonist characters in the future. Also, keep in mind, I didn't actually help make the site in any way. I just volunteered to make an entertaining promo to help the new site grow.
The views and opinions expressed in the parody segments of this video are that of DasBoSchitt and do not reflect the opinions of Ross Scott or any of his associates. Thanks go to "Phil". You are a shining example of how not to be a Lets Player.
I'd like to take a moment to respond to the people jumping to conclusions that this video is a slam on the entirety of Lets Play. If you payed attention, the video lampoons the Lets Plays that are basically just exploiting new game releases by shoveling them through a capture card as quickly as possible with little to no effort, editing or thought out commentary for the purpose of lining their pockets and beating others on search results. If this is what you think the entirety of Lets Play is, then I'm afraid it's you who's insulting all Lets Players, not me. I for one give mad props to the LPers that take the time to learn, or even master a game, inform upon it and edit properly so people don't spend 4 parts watching someone lose at a boss fight or get lost. I would even go so far as to say that even though guys like Markiplier for example is indeed guilty of a few of the tropes I criticize here, I would still totally buy him a drink if I saw him at a con and talk with the guy about games for extended periods of time.

Welcome to Know Your Schitt! A Garry's Mod Machinima tutorial series teaching you how to make your GMod machinima look its best. Never forget though, that you will never succeed in making something halfway decent if you're not willing to put forth the time and effort it requires to stand up to scrutiny.
Today, we will be learning the ideal settings for our three main tools in order to make your video look its best for the YouTube format. We will be going through 4 different steps in this tutorial: 1: Setting up Fraps 2: Setting up Garry's Mod 3: Setting up Sony Vegas 4: Setting up Vegas Rendering
Welcome to the first part of my tutorial series on how to make a quality Garry's Mod machinima. In this video, I will be going over the tools you will need in making your project. Just be sure you have a computer that runs games, and doesn't just make toast.
I was planning on making the entire tutorial one video, but I decided to make it a playlist comprised of multiple parts for three reasons. 1: I'm always thinking of something new to cover, or get questions on how other tricks are done 2: There already is a lot to cover, and I don't want a lengthy tutorial video to take too much time away from the progress of the GMod Idiot Box: Episode 12. 3: Separate videos make it easier for someone to find particular help categories if they are somewhat new, but not THAT new to making GMod videos.
Music: Cirromon Caverns - Dust an Alysian Tail OSTBo Schitt Reviews: Metro Last Light (Cancelled)DasBoSchitt2013-06-25 | Follow me on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/dasbotwitt
As stated in the video, work kicked my ass enough to make this review too late to be relevant to the release time of the game and too early to be in the style of those "retro reviews" where heavy detail and story spoilers are all right. That in mind, I eventually just didn't have the passion to do this review anymore and released what I had finished, which admittedly was quite a bit.
As long as I have a day job with a very unpredictable schedule capable of eating up tons of my time, I'm going to be holding off on game reviews and just working on GMod animations, since most of the time, those don't have relevancy issues to them. Not to mention, the Last Light footage was taking up an entire terabyte of hard drive space and I need that space for other GMod projects, so that didn't help either.
Made this in about 4 days. It was a good excuse to practice more stop motion techniques. Would have had it done sooner had it not been for work whooping the shit out of me with more 60 hour work weeks.
UPDATE: Roughly 4 hours after this video was published, Microsoft decided to stop giving its consumers the shaft and announced its removal of all shitty DRM policies and region blocking. ONLY A COINCIDENCE?! Well ... yes, actually :(. Still, good, on them.

2012 was brutal, to say the least, but with things finally settling down in my life, I'm happy to welcome you back to the GMod Idiot Box with the 11th episode. It was a major challenge to get this episode off the ground, as the transition from GMod 12 to GMod 13 has made it a nightmare for GMod machinima creators to make progress, as there's still a rampant number of bugs and changes that have slowed everyone down. Regardless, here's what you've all been waiting for, and I'll see you again next episode!
My apologies for the 7 minute episode after an entire year has passed, but contrary to popular rumors in the comments, I haven't been working on this episode throughout the entire year. I was working on Duke Nukem Foreverquest, experimenting with Source Filmmaker, moving cross country and working 60+ hours in the day job in the beginning. I was far too busy to even consider starting the next episode to a series that is the hardest to make. Things finally started to settle down toward the end of the year, which allowed me to start this episode's production in mid January and finish mid March. With things looking so much better, I hope to remain consistent with the series so people don't have to wait like that again.Metal Gear Rising Revengeance - A Bo Schitt Game ReviewDasBoSchitt2013-02-26 | Thanks for watching my first ever review with my first ever use of a capture card. Feedback is always appreciated and stay tuned at the end for a 10 second sneak peek of the GMod Idiot Box Episode 11 as reward for your patience and proof it's in the works. Just make sure your annotations are on!
I don't plan to make a habit of doing these because reviews are a dime a dozen, but sometimes I'll feel compelled to talk about a certain game that receives too much praise or catches too much crap in hopes of putting some things into perspective.
Capture card used was the Pauppauge HD PVR 2
Some music tracks are from the Ren and Stimpy OST as well as Rockstar's "Bully". All other tracks in this review are from the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance OST.
The music at 12:13 was known as "Spirit of the Blade" according to the Metal Gear Rising OST YouTube channel. However, he provided me with an audio rip from the game with dialogue switched off, as there doesn't appear to be a raw track as of yet.GIBlets: Heavy Wrecks ChristmasDasBoSchitt2012-12-25 | Merry Christmas, you hygienically challenged wildlife!
Welcome back to the wonderful world of Garry's Mod! It's still in a rocky transitional period from GMod 12 to GMod 13 and there's still a lot of bugs that need ironing out, which is why the GMod Idiot Box Episode 11 is hitting a number of snags during the production process. In the meantime, I thought I would make a quick GMod short just in time for Christmas, which I weirdly enough have never done until now.
For those of you cursing GMod 13's rocky status to the depths of hell, I would like to remind people that when Garry's Mod transitioned into the Orange Box engine, it was a MUCH rockier transition than the one you see in GMod 13. The problems got ironed out then, and I'm confident they'll get ironed out once again.

Now I talk about Source Filmmaker and how I feel it stacks up to Garry's Mod when it comes to making comedic machinima. Also a quick update on where the GMod Idiot Box stands.
In this Source Filmmaker short, I wanted to animate a character to make them feel more believable this time around ... to a certain extent. Whether I actually pulled that off or not is really up for debate in the end.
This video would have taken me only a week to make and it was slated to be a release in time for Halloween, but my right arm was stricken with a pretty serious case of tendinitis after I spent way too long on the computer with my right elbow rested on the arm of my chair. As a result, I couldn't spend any more than an hour on the computer before I had to take a lengthy break. That coupled with tending to loved ones, my day job hours increasing for the holidays and the fact that I spend 90% of my SFM time in the graph editor, rather than the motion editor didn't help. Regardless, I never leave a project unfinished, and I hope you enjoy the last SFM short I make for a while as I continue work on what REALLY matters ... the GMod Idiot Box: Episode 11.
By the way, the tendinitis cleared up two weeks later, so there's no more worry of that getting in the way.
For my very first entry into the Source Filmmaker archives, I decided to try out the famous Commander Shepard model, made popular in Source Filmmaker by MegaGFilms. I wanted to try this model out to see what kind of edge its facial structure had over the rather restricted nature of the TF2 characters. TF2 models have their facial poses bound by sliders that adjust the intensity of poses in certain portions of their face. These sliders, while able to be exploited to ridiculous levels in Garry's Mod, Source Filmmaker is more limited in that respect, allowing facial flexes that are within more "reasonable" parameters. Commander Shepard on the other hand, while he does have his own set of slider controls, he is able to do something completely different. All pose-able portions of his face are actually able to be selected and manipulated just like the bones of a characters limbs. Combine that with Source Filmmakers' ability to stretch and rotate the bones of a character in completely silly ways, you're able to pose Commander Shepard's face in ways that could give children nightmares, and that kind of freedom is exactly what I was worried I would never get in Source Filmmaker.
I greatly hope later on down the line that people hoping to create new models, or import existing ones from other mediums into Source Filmmaker, catch onto this and make it possible to do more often. I was bothered at first by the restrictive nature of the slider system in SFM, but seeing Shepard's face at work allowed me to potentially remove this gripe from my list of things GMod can do better than Source Filmmaker.
