Sketchbook Tour 1 2017 Black Fox 2017-01-27 | First sketchbook tour of the new year. Despite not being as diverse in terms of what I drew in there, I did enjoy most of what I put in there. I do find that I'm trying to do a lot of more perfected pieces and I need get out of the mind set that the pieces for my sketchbook are not finalized pieces. But I want to practice to get into a space where I have fewer mistakes if it is going to be a larger piece much later. I hope that you enjoyed this video. Reporter Unit: Ulala Alpha v2.01 Black Fox 2016-10-31 | So this was done for a thing over on Deviantart, I got to choose the girl and and then a costume was chosen for me. I got Robot and went straight for my trashy habits. This was actually the second version, that I did in a span of 2 hours it turned out better. I am sorry I didn't do 13 pieces like I had originally planned, in all honesty taking on so many things art wise in a singular month is not only unwise it is was down right draining. So I opted not to do a meet my character monday and instead gave you a Halloween speed paint. Moving forward, MMCs will return next Monday, I think the next free Friday will be either my sketch book tour or an art haul, leaning towards the former since I've every intension of getting some more markers to balance out my current collection a little bit. And I'm still going to put forward some traditional art. I'm thinking every Thursday the vid will go up, but I'm gonna not try to hold myself to any particular theme so to speak, like Monday videos, but if you're interested in having me try a challenge, like 3 marker challenge and such, then let me know and I will do those perhaps once a month. I am working on some sketches and have a couple hat are prepped to be colored, just haven't set aside time to do them, because I still have a day job and responsibilities within the family. 13DH: child killer Black Fox 2016-10-22 | So...I was attempting to stay away from doing FNAF work for the challenge, but this was too good to pass up and with such a suggestive title it isn't as gory as one would think, and doesn't feature who you would think. The running theory is that the blonde hair girl is Afton's daughter, from another woman, but that she is like him ( if you watch the tv show at the end of the shifts ( where you actually go home) the child is a monster just like the father. So I think if not for the accident she suffered, she would be like him in a sense. I also apologize I missed a large amount of footage, because guess who forgot to hit record on when they started the line art. But you get most of the rest including the evil of a background. Which I fixed up a little more after I stopped recording.....I was trying to do a different background....I really don't do buildings, but I wanted it to be at the house. As simple as it looks, I was a little miffed when I did the sketch of it, and it probably shows, I'm proud that I pushed myself and I can see where I need to work on things. Concept Speed paint Black Fox 2016-10-14 | So today was a different type of piece, though by technicality it's "finished" as drawings would go, it's not an illustrative or a final piece per se. I decided to give you guys a small glimpse at my creative process when it comes to games and characters. There's usually one or two pieces, for the early concept/idea and then I take time to try expanding on the idea. I only spent an hour and a half on the art itself and I know their are mistakes, but I'm not too worried since I'm sure the design will shift anyway. Work Wednesday: Character Design Challenge Black Fox 2016-09-29 | So, no commentary since, I can't go for long periods of talking without breaking into a coughing fit, so hopefully you'll enjoy the video. It is a combination of what should have have been last weeks WW vid, plus this weeks, The rendering is always the longest time. With that being said, This is my entry for the Character Design Challenge over on face book, and my Centaur is kind've a mix between a horse and a deer, who lives deep within the forest. I really loved the green of the original piece, but ultimately I think this is a better outcome, especially with the lighting. Art block Black Fox 2016-09-24 | I spent the better half of 6 hours attempting to draw, and that's with some breaks ( some very long breaks) This is only an example of what art block can be like for me, and it was really pissing me off, even with so many ideas that I could have put down ( which I wrote down) and some of the things I didn't show, the last thing I did was an hour and a half, and I ultimately just got fed up. What I want people to understand is that art block is a thing, and it comes in many forms. And it's okay to have them. As someone who isn't quite pro ( I'm somewhere in the transitional stage) This kinda thing is acceptable, and instead of not having a video for a second day I decided to put up things I consider ugly and most certainly not my best. Stuff I wouldn't normally share. And I think it's important to also say, that even having some ease with a digital medium, to undo and fix things....it's still not easy to produce something quality even with the skill I have under my belt after 6 years. So if you suffer from art block at any stage of art, it's okay ( as long as their isn't a deadline and trust me I have turned in some really bad quality stuff with a looming deadline over my head and it was not a pretty picture, no pun intended.)
