It will cost you a steep $50, and upon buying it, it morphs into a twisted creature, starting a battle. Defeating the pizza will grant you multiple Mad Pie slices, described as being made of fingers and other appendages, but is also the highest healing pizza slices in the game. However, his attempt is futile as the Rodent Child crawls after us and grips to our leg before setting in our pack His purpose is left unclear, but Sam nevertheless takes the infant with him, but doing so leads to the most horrific decision in the game. Talking to the mouth in the wall after acquiring the child, we are unable to leave as the hallway becomes endless, upon returning to the mouth, it requests a child to eat for us to escape. We can then give it the Rat Child as a sacrifice or we can choose to give us one of our arms to spare the child, but we gain a permanent debuff. Saving the rat kid leads to him living in our apartment where we can care for him and watch him grow by feeding him both food and our blood. After enough time he becomes fully grown and can be a party member. He then thanks us and gives us the doorknob needed to explore the apartments further, where we can find his mother. Entering a battle with her will allow us to report back to Joel letting him know we found her and here we can recruit him into the party. Unlike the other abominations we find around the apartment complex, Leigh has unique control over her form and can morph at will and can do so in battle. She serves as a berserker type class as transforming in battle will have her confused for one turn where she can hit party members, but after the turn is over, you can control her Grinning Beast form. Her personality is just as erratic as her fighting style as she wants to rematch and fight Sam and other party members while in the apartment. Once you make it to the ancient city of the gods, Ma’habre, you can speak with an insect on this vine wall in the present day version of the city. The insect will give you a blue vial as a present, but he will actually give you one each time you talk to him allowing you to have an infinite source of healing. If you have the Alchemillia vol. 3 book, you can use them to make Light Blue Vials, making your party near invincible to the eldritch monsters of the dungeon. The Grinning Beast is the toughest early game fight as it will easily destroy Sam in a couple of turns. This caused them all to transform into Teeth monsters and lose their sanity save for Joel who we can find brushing all his new teeth and we see the affliction grow on him. Fighting the mother causes the Baby to attack us and we see its horrendous new form. There are a few spots you can encounter the Trio of mad moonscorched and they throw and smash a bottle to alert their presence before you hear the chilling revving of a Meat Grinder. If you’re lucky, you can shoot them in the overworld to make the fight easier, but having to face 3 enemies at once is extremely challenging without the right setup. Instead we are going to be using only Moonless the Cave Wolf While Moonless is the goodest girl and very beneficial in the early game due to her having an extra attack per turn and can take some hits in battle, she is extremely fragile as she cannot equip weapons or armor which leads her to die after only a few hits. This coupled with her being AI controlled means you can’t choose which enemy part she targets and by the mid to end game, it becomes a challenge just to keep her alive through any boss battles. Instead of gaining experience from defeating enemies, Moonless gets more powerful by peeing on specific parts of the map, and no I’m not kidding. When walking over certain tiles, she will hike her leg on the spot and after she has done this in 10 different spots, her bite attack will become Jagged Jaw allowing her to do much more damage and after she marks 20 spots, it becomes the full powered Grim Jaw doing even more damage and can inflict confuse on enemies.
