Aiden Chan - A Generation of Heroes - [Cinematic] (Original Composition) Aiden Chan 2014-03-12 | Here's a new one for y'all!This piece is based on a comic-book universe my friends and I created back in High School - we called it "Generation of Heroes." In the series, we tackled the "growing up" process of heroes and villains alike, and wanted to provide readers a more mature take on the often neglected "teenage" superhero.I've used a mix of Brahmsian, and Wagnerian techniques to compose this piece - using thick textures, leitmotifs, and a mix of functional and non-functional tonality. I tried to capture the heroic, "epic," essence we so commonly associate with film and game music, and aimed to create a recognizable tune with which we could associate with. Happy belated Chinese New Year!Starting a new project: original music, which will be uploaded here as well! This one's called "Ink," and is an oriental themed symphonic work, named so as it was written and produced for a visual educational resource aimed at teaching dyslexic children Chinese.In the piece I attempt to capture a scene from the typical kung fu romance, where a new trainee trains, under the watchful eye of his master, day in and day out, on the top of a mountain.
