FanOfNintendoThis is a demonstration of using a fire that's popping before disappearing being used to get VS1.
I had a plan to use BCA in BitS to throw a flame clone at a pole to dismount it for the second time using a HOLP that was placed at the bottom before going up the pole for the first time. When I proposed this, Marbler (youtube.com/user/supermarble94) initially dismissed the idea because grabbing the bob-omb gives Mario VS9 and there was no way to bring it down to VS1 (the vacant slot you need to clone the flame) without needing 16 speed, which would ruin the BCA
However, he then came up with using a fire's pop that occurs when it hits a wall or its timer runs out. If you can grab a bob-omb with a moving punch, then have the fire pop a few moments later, a sound effect object would load into Mario's hands, which would unload at VS1. I then tried TASing it (althought without BCA) and this is the result. If BCA was added to this strat, it would save a good amount of time.

The Double Red Coin Sound Glitch is a glitch where the red coin sound effect plays twice due to the sound spawner unloading the same frame the sound finishes. This usually is done with lag, but here, I demonstrate it's possible to recreate the glitch by pausing to (where I presume) the unloading of the sound effect object is delayed to match when the sound finishesStomp on the Thwomp 22xA (Recreation) (TAS)FanOfNintendo2022-11-14 | This TAS was made to celebrate the A press save of Stomp on the Thwomp from 1 A press to 0 A press, marking the end of the history of Stomp on the Thwomp on the A Button Challenge, and the end of the most vertical level in the game as well.
I want to congratulate everyone who worked on SotT 0xA and other A press saves as well. The legacy of the A Button Challenge rests on them, as they made what would've been a generic challenge for an old game into one of the most interesting and entertaining challenges I've ever seen. The determination behind all the planning, solving and TASing is nothing short of incredible.
