The New Jerusalem - Pyramid or Cube? Bible Scenes 2026-03-27 | A few weeks ago now I released a concept video where I portrayed the shape of the New Jerusalem as a Pyramid, it wasn't long before I started getting comments saying that the shape was wrong and that it was a cube. In this video I outline the reason why I thought it was a Pyramid but could easily be a cube. I put forward a few ideas, arguments for both shapes. See what you think. The New Jerusalem - 3D Concept Video Bible Scenes 2026-02-08 | Almost two years ago I thought it would be a good idea to conceptualise in 3D what the New Jerusalem in the chapters 21 and 22. What I was thinking God only knows. In the video I use the text "no eye has seen, no ear has heard what God has in store for those who love him", I have absolutely no doubt that this is true and that what you see here is nothing like what the actual Heavenly city of Jerusalem will look like. One reason it has taken so long to do is because there is so little to go on, just a few mysterious texts in these two chapters. I would start something and then realise it didn't work or made no sense and then delete it and start again. I can't tell you how many times I did this. I think a lot of Revelation is metaphorical (like the two- edged sword coming out of Jesus' mouth) and can't really be visualised properly. What I have realised is that we may think we have an idea of what these things are or look like when in reality there is so much that we cannot ever know in fullness. I encourage you all to read the relevant chapters of Revelation and question how you may have seen it, what vision you held regarding this city. I am sure that most people will believe that the shape is a cube and if I am honest it really could be a cube, even the Greek does imply a four-square shape which most scholars think is a cubic shape. For reasons I will go into in a different video I am not so sure and decided to go with a pyramid shape. I had actually finished this video a few months ago but had delayed releasing it as I always felt was missing something and wasn't quite right. Interstellar - A journey toward the Light Bible Scenes 2024-03-28 | While making the video of Moses on Mount Sinai I wanted a background on which to put the text of the Ten Commandments, I experimented with simply travelling through Nebulae toward an eternal light source and while I liked the effect the text itself got lost in the brightness so I didn't end up using it. When I looked back at the video I thought it was too good to go to waste so I put some music to it and this is the result. Hope you like it. Jerusalem -Temple Mount in 3D - Walkthrough Bible Scenes 2023-10-21 | This is definitely the last Temple Mount Video that I will be doing for Youtube. As this whole model was made in Unreal Engine it meant that I could walk around it in "Game" style mode, which is what I have done, hopefully it will help in orienting oneself as to where everything is in relation to each other. There is no talking or information just a background music track. (A good video to watch on a rainy Saturday afternoon with nothing else to do)I've spent more time on this project than I meant to but it has been a real learning experience in more ways than one. I learnt so much about this ancient historical sight and now have a much better idea of it's historical significance than ever before. The fact that the Temple ground was the sight of so many Biblical stories from the place where Abraham offered up Isaac to the Threshing floor that David purchased for the Location of the Altar. Herods Temple Mount - 3D Information Videos Bible Scenes 2023-10-06 | Since the initial release of the show case video, I have been working on separate videos which highlight specific areas of interest. These start with some of the elements where there are archaeological remains like Barclay’s Gate and Wilson’s Arch and then move inward toward the Temple where we can see more of the details of the chambers and Gates that make up the Temple Courts. I want to stress that almost all of the details are taken from Leen Ritmeyer’s Book “The Quest” and where there was insufficient information other sources like The Temple Institute and even Wikipedia were used. I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination and expect that there are things that I may have missed, words that I have mis-pronounced and even areas where I may be plain wrong. My goal in making this scene was not academic integrity but more to create a sense of an actual historic place that once existed, a New testament surrounding that would help us to visualise the location of the New Testament and the events that took place there. An example of how my image of a New Testament scene changed came when I made the Huldah gates, one of which is possibly the Gate Beautiful where Peter and John healed the lame man. I always imagined an English style open-air gate with posts set in the ground, to discover that the lame man would have sat at the entrance to an underground passageway was a real surprise. As you watch the video I would be interested to see if you have “revelation” moments too, do let me know if you do. There are a few “shout outs” as usual, Leen Ritmeyer of course who has been really helpful and even produced a blog talking all about the Bible Scenes Temple Mount project and Howard Conder who is always so encouraging and yet insistent that I do things as well as I can and don’t cut corners or settle for the mediocre (which I always want to do). 3D Model of Herods Temple Bible Scenes 2023-09-07 | After almost two years working on this project it is finally finished; Herod's Temple Mount. Journey back through time and see what Jerusalem's Crowning glory could have looked like two thousand years ago. Temple Mount WIPMay23 Bible Scenes 2023-05-20 | Here is the latest update on Herod's Temple Mount, I have now brought all the models and textures over from Blender into Unreal Engine. I also added mesh-based edge damage to almost all the buildings and columns. Where Blender struggled with the basic meshes, Unreal Engine - because of the new Nanite technology - handled all these higher vertex models with ease. The next step is to populate the surrounding area with houses, roads, trees etc. I also intend to dirty up the actual temple mount itself and make it look a bit more "lived in". After this I plan to create a number of people to place around. This in itself is a big job and so I expect to be busy for a number of months to come so please be patient as I endeavour to complete the project.The final step will to be to a) produce a walk around video detailing the various sections of the Temple mount, the entrances, stairways, chambers, slaughter area, the Temple itself and any other aspects that may be of interest. Tabernacle in the Wilderness - Coming Soon Bible Scenes 2021-11-14 | This is a teaser video for what is coming fairly soon (God willing), I have wanted to do a comprehensive set of videos covering the Tabernacle of God in the wilderness for a long time now, there is a lot to cover and a fair bit of it is open to interpretation as regards to how it looks or its even how it works. Being able to visualize what the scriptures say can be so helpful in getting a good understanding of what was going on at that time. The tabernacle is made up of so many parts, from the outer court, the tabernacle itself and all the elements that are made to inhabit it’s space, from the Bronze laver to the Ark of the testimony, all made with specific measurements and instructions. Over the next few months I will be releasing detailed videos for all these items to accompany the written explanations in the Book of Exodus. Moses and the Burning Bush Bible Scenes 2021-08-01 | I have been so busy with work (and personal stuff) that it has been difficult to produce the scenes as I would have hoped but I had an opportunity to spend a bit of time and opted to make a shorter scene using the new Unreal Engine 5 (early access) software. So here is my version of Moses before the burning Bush (or unburnt bush) from Exodus 3. I chose to add a slight bluish/white to the flames to distinguish them from the normal colour of fire. Crucifixion Scene in 3D - Work in Progress - Part 2 Bible Scenes 2020-11-24 | I am starting to get a fair bit further with this Crucifixion scene in Unreal Engine and have added quite a bit more since last time. In the last post I just had Jesus and the two criminals on the cross along with Mary, Mary Magdalene and John. I have now sculpted the landscape a bit and added paths and hills in the distance, plenty of rocks, fences, columns and general set dressing. Also started on adding foliage like trees and bushes and even used it to populate the distant hills with buildings. I purchased some armour from CGTrader and made a couple of rigged models which I then posed and added to the scene. Finally set up some basic camera moves to give some focus to what I need to spend more time detailing. Hopefully the next post should be showing the final camera moves. Crucifixion Scene in 3D - Work in Progress Bible Scenes 2020-10-17 | So having finally finished the Tower of babel scene I am now working on the next Bible scene which is the Crucifixion scene. The models of Christ and Mary, the wife of Clopas, Mary Magdealene, Jesus’ Mother, and the disciple John were purchased fromCG trader. The three sculpted models had to be converted into low polygon models with texture maps before they could be imported into unreal engine. I have just started work on the roman soldier and will need to create several versions for the different positions and poses needed. I have chosen to create the location of the crucifixion site as being atop the hill of Golgotha and have gone about creating something that would represent this as well as possible. There is still lots to do and I am only able to work a few hours now and again in between doing a day job but if you feel that this is something that could benefit the wider Christian community as a whole then do consider supporting this project.
