It's been almost an entire year since I did Hitori Omou *my most popular upload till date* and it just doesn't stop there!
I recently got my copy of Fire Emblem Echoes and i've been falling in love with the soundtracks AND the characters in the game. Gameplay difficulty wise, it's a huge freaking pain. Like, let's talk about Clive shall we?

Now about this piece. I've browsed around the internet for any decent piano arrangement of the MAIN FIRE EMBLEM THEME, and I have yet to come across any. Like honestly, this theme is the main theme of all main themes. It's spectacular grandeur, the glorious unison choir MAKES YOU JUST TEAR EVERYTIME *ohh how the fire emblem theme has evolved*.
Therefore! An eargastic song deserves an insane arrangement. This arrangement only took about a week to complete. Once I got started, the only thing really holding me back was putting the next note developing the finale of this song *becauseeee, it's only less than 120 seconds in length, phew, not alot to work with there*, plus I wanted to keep the theme's original aspects, so a lot of compromises was needed.
One particular challenge, to arrange this arrangement was basically to encapsulate, as much harmony as possible of which the piano is able to play, *Phew, octave spams too stronk*, while making it sound like an arrangement, and not a bunch of noise.
The other challenging factor arranging this piece is the AMOUNT OF ENERGY NEEDED to improvise and finally, stamping the notation onto Sibelius and saying : I'M HAPPY, NO REALLY, I'M HAPPY, WE'LL GO WITH THIS, THIS IS TOTALLY PLAYABLE.
In all honesty, i've never gone full forti-fortisimo on an arrangement before, ever, because it's very difficult to control and it's not practical on a real piano.
Nevertheless, this is the final product!

As my last semester in College (ever), I am taking a Harry Potter class which covers all 7 books of the series.
For my final project, we could do anything we wanted, so I decided to compose a piece to fulfill that requirement.
The title of this piece is vaguely made up. Since I had absolutely no idea on what subject matter within harry potter I wanted to focus on to materialize in this composition. Though, after reading the last few chapters of Deathly Hallows and the rest of the books as a whole, my composition self leaned more and more towards the finale of the entire Harry Potter series, and my composing mindset was set towards a finale-type of tone. Since not much context was given after the defeat of Voldermolt with the addition of that 19 year time skip, there was a huge gap that just left me as a reader hanging.
Therefore, this piece was composed, to sort of illustrate musically what the ending of the war would've been like.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This piece took a total of 2 weeks to compose /arrange and finalize. The mixing, admittedly, is not the best and the sound feels "drowned" out after Logic X's bounce (as usual), I'll have to look into better ways to compose in the near future.

With the coming year ahead, I will be unemployed, subsequently doing freelancing work. This composition was made as my 2nd portfolio work towards my Independent Study for Music in Games, and originally, it's intention was to serve as a soundtrack for the game by the same name "Resistance and Liberation".
It happened as I was looking for topics to compose music for during the first few weeks of this independent study, I had no good reason to compose music without a sense of direction or a purpose, but through a friend from my faculty who was working on this game, I was given the reason to compose this for Resistance and Liberation.
Since I wasn't given much criteria for how I should compose this, I just started and ended with whatever you're hearing now. This has made this composition's outcome to deviate from being just simple game music, and more towards a narrative piece as it transitioned from "Resistance" to "Liberation", and therefore, it was rejected by the developers after they reviewed it.
Nonetheless, about this piece;
While I was composing this piece, there were only two major "themes" that were lingering around my head. -Resistance -Liberation
As that is the title of the game itself, which is also featured in WW2, I wanted the music to narrate the true nature of "resistance" during those intense battles of WW2 as countless men willing gave up their lives for a cause , as well as the reward for all that sacrifice which was sweet "Liberty".
For the first theme, majority of the piece lingers in the minors and slowly tries to transition to a major chord, illustrating the preludes of a last ditch charge towards the enemy lines while holding on to that small glimmer of hope that they'll survive another day.
However, their hopes were soon destroyed as flank after flank collapse to the enemy's overwhelming battle potential while having regrets of not being able to protect their homeland.
Just as the situation seemed dire where friendlies were surrounded on all fronts, an unprecedented number of reinforcements showed up at the enemy's rear while breaching their defenses one after another (D-Day). The music then transitions itself to the first major key which starts narrating the sweet sound of liberation and gradually turns itself to a victory theme.

Whooooot, it's been a whole 6-7 months.
During that time, i've entered what you'll otherwise known as a musician's slump. More specifically, a transcribing slump.
I've actually started this arrangement back in January right after my Christmas break, however after notating up to the first chorus, I quickly faced a loss of motivation, following with on going arrangement depressions.
There are a few reasons for this, one of them is probably due to the fact that I was taking a piano class for college to fulfill credits. The daily practices took quite a bit off my creative stamina. The other factor contributing to my lack of uploads would be me trying to improve my improvising skills / feeling inadequate of arranging.
Lately, I've been doing a lot more experimental plays on the piano rather than trying to play usual pieces in my very comfortable form. So through half of this piece, you'll see a drastic change in arrangement style which encompasses a lot of experimentation which I have done these past few months.
Lastly, Bon Appetit is one of the most creative pieces in anime music up till now, just the sheer detail of the playful background accompaniment to the vocals caffeinates your entire day and kicks you into productive mode. I still get high no matter how many times I listen to this song. Though this arrangement did not do full justice to some elements which I had hope to achieve, I'm pretty satisfied with the overall result of this arrangement and some personal barriers I have broken.
As usual, i'm late to the party (again), nevertheless, I hope you have enjoyed this piano version of the song.
I'll be going back to composing a few pieces as part of my summer independent study for music.

If you're seeing this then yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, I have finally uploaded after a long period of hiatus due to my hectic schedule this semester working on my capstone project focused on game design/web design and 3D modeling. (Hence why I didn't have the time nor energy to even touch any arrangements)
But amidst one of those days when I was casually slaving away making a 3D model for my game, youtube was playing in the background and it randomly just switched tracks to Ghibli songs. Immediately, Mom's Broom played, along with other Kiki songs, and I immediately felt euphoric as Joe Hisaishi's Bukodan concert tracks began to play in the background.
Not surprisingly, when I got home, I immediately began working on this piece. Though, things started to get a little complicated, because this is a very simple song, and if directly transcribed to the piano, it can be pretty....bland.... additionally, I think i've caught a disease where if there's a simple passage on the sheet music, I would immediately, and most definitely, start making it 100000x harder than it should ever be.
Therefore, it took me 1.5 months of improvisation and experimentation to take this piece where it is now. I had a lot of dull moments this semester, and it is clearly reflected in this arrangement as I just pour it all out into the music. Game having crash bugs, problem finding creative innovation, deadlines, burnt out, etc.
Also more recently, I'm getting even more picky on music I hear, everything just sounds too generic and overly used nowadays. I've also gone even harder on how I improvise on the piano. Normally slapping triads here and there on a grand piano would've sufficed, but not anymore. Every-time I repeat the same hand techniques, I just lose the will to play.
Which is why, I took some time to actually nail down some techniques that my right hand desperaetly lacked till now - right hand muscle memory on scales. At the moment, I can drafty BS some RH runs down, but yea, it's just BS and it sounds fabricated. Nevertheless, all those BS is reflected on this arrangement where most of the runs are now being played by the right hand, a total opposite to my previous arrangement styles where I would harmonize more on the left hand, and narrate the melody on the right.
Because of this, i'm actually really satisfied with this arrangement, due to the fact that it's an entire semester's worth of feelings poured into crafting this sheet.
Though I may not get a ton of views on this, I still enjoyed arranging this, I hope you enjoyed listening to it too.

Hi guys! I'm back, this time with an arrangement from Granblue Fantasy's original soundtrack : Auguste Isles - Babbling Falls.
I started playing Granblue when I was having a short trip back to Malaysia, because the anime was being promoted everywhere on social media. So I gave it a shot... and, I r̶e̶g̶r̶e̶t̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶i̶t̶. (̶r̶i̶p̶ ̶g̶a̶t̶c̶h̶a̶ ̶r̶o̶l̶l̶s̶)̶ must say, the game really takes mobile gaming into a somewhat different direction with it's well diversified range of w̶a̶i̶f̶u̶s̶ playable characters and their "Fate Episodes". What I really enjoyed most about Granblue would probably be it's player interaction when raiding bosses to get loot during event, and it's rather lenient drop rate.
Considering I joined at around their 15 million celebration event, I got the chance to obtain a lot of freebies and I grinned the maps like a bored madman. (Also got myself a Korwa (normal ver), Juliet and Yuisis)
But -
The best part of Granblue would still be, Lyria. Yes, you heard me right, because she's voiced by the same V.A that voices the daijobu queen, who happens to be my favorite kancolle character. I just can't get enough of her voice. (10/10 voice acting)
Nevertheless, I kinda see why Granblue is such a big deal, if not for the dazzling art or even the famous VA's, there's an entire golden collection of original soundtracks for you to enjoy listening to as you advance through each island / chapter. My particular favorites were Io's theme, and the Auguste Isles.
When the anime aired at Episode 9, during the scene where Gran bought Lyria her hairclip, I melted, at the tune of Auguste Isles as it played in the background. This simple, relaxing and soothing tune, has caught my attention in a blink of an eye, and my soul was, just calmed.
Instantly without hesitation, I started arranging the first minute of the arrangement on the piano. However the following days proved challenging, because the Auguste Lsles theme, is a soft piece that transcends you to the actual island, where the soothing waves just takes you away. The timid stringing of the violins and woodwinds in the original OST was also hard to transcribe for the piano, without it sounding too simple and bland.
In other words, my usual arranging style would not have sufficed, therefore I took some extra time and awaited for those "calm moments" to come by before notating the next sections.
Also, I chose my old VST, Pearl Concert Grand over Galaxy Steinway Vintage because of it's crystal clear high notes. This piano also gives different characteristic to the way I arrange, in a way it has terrible low note registers, but tranquilizing high notes, therefore i'm more likely to use less bass notes.

I enrolled in a class called "Digital Music I" this summer to fulfill my minor in music.
Our lecturer assigned us a starter project to work on, that's logic pro based. The requirements were basically; At least 5 different Instruments on separate "tracks" And ye, the rest just goes on. Time taken : 8 hours.
As for the name, well, you can thank my friend for that, as I game him full dictatorship over naming my dis track.
When did I learn Logic ? mmmmm, since I last October I suppose. I've already been using logic to "fine tune" the note stabs to enhance my piano arrangements. I've also composed several experimental pieces, but they were just 'meh" standard.
So this is just a little homework assignment I decided to go all-out on, I had fun messing around with the sounds.
I got to learn how to bounce/master the track properly, all my audio quality is basically lost and there are some bass parts that were suppose to be emphasized that weren't.

The Moon Represents My Heart / 月亮代表我的心, is a famous Chinese Pop song from the 1970s. Coming from a Chinese family in Malaysia, my grandmother spoke and taught me the little, but sufficient Cantonese. She was also responsible for a lot of my childhood care because both my parents had to work in the office till evenings.
From my primary school years, I attended a Chinese school till I then later transferred to an international school at the age of 12, so I had a decent 4 years of studying Chinese (which I have now mostly forgotten to read, down the drain) before transferring to a private school for a better mid-tier education.
Since primary school was tough (because Chinese moon-runes are difficult to remember), my grandma would teach me whatever she know just to finish my homework that was, *in chinese*. The sciences and math were particularly the worst. I mean, math in English is already hard enough ehh?
So at 2.30pm, I would do homework at my grandma's house, she would tutor me when I asked, and by 4pm I was "mostly", *done*, with my homework, and I proceeded to watching TV. Somewhere around 4:30pm, I would often be requested to take an afternoon nap by my grandma which I would be reluctant to. I mean, I FINISHED HOMEWORK, I WANNA WATCH CARTOON NETWORKKKKKKK, 30 MINUTES ISN'T ENOUGHHH.
*Sulks childishly*
Eventually to put my 8 year old mind to sleep, grandma would sing this song as she patted me to bed *pats*. But of course, I was so fidgetty back then, there was always a 70% chance of me not falling asleep and I would often fake my sleep just so she could go back to the kitchen and I would sneak on watching the TV without sound, just so she wouldn't notice.
Teehee.
My Grandmother's birthday was 2 weeks ago. Coincidentally, that was also the time I had to fly back from the states just to catch her I̶m̶p̶e̶r̶i̶a̶l̶ ̶C̶h̶i̶n̶e̶s̶e̶ ̶F̶e̶a̶s̶t̶ birthday party that was last night. (I also played this arrangement for her in front of all our friends and relatives, she was the very first to hear it, and she liked it. ( *screams internally*)
This arrangement of "The Moon Represents my Heart" is a little present i've been working on for 4 weeks just to convey my thanks for all the sacrifices and love she's done for me to be the person I am today. Being away for a lengthy period of time to study overseas has made me realize just how much I miss my family, especially my grandmothers.
So to my returning subscribers, I hope you will enjoy this old chinese classic pop song, as I have when I was younger and even now. Since it's almost 50 years old, I decided to give it some alterations by changing *a lot* of the song's original musical structure to fit with my current, new level of transcription capabilities.

Surprise! Didn't expect that didcha? Well neither did I! What made me arrange a non-anime soundtrack?
Welp,
SIMPLY BECAUSE CLASSICAL DISNEY MUSIC IS BRILLIANTLY GORGEOUS.
All those targeted ads and viral videos also contributed to my interest in the Beauty and the Beast movie remake, and honestly I haven't even got the chance to watch the movie itself *wraps self in corner*.
Nevertheless, the music is all that matters to me. I have went through all of the new Beauty and the Beast soundtracks. Despite what people say about Emma's auto-tuned singing vocaloid voice, I still loved and enjoyed the soundtrack as I did when I first got into playing non-classical pieces on the piano. And by far, my favorites are Something There, and Be Our Guest. (spoiler right there)
I actually learned to improvise way better by learning Kyle Landry's sheets, and it was then I truly learned the way of "free styling" on the piano.
Thus, this arrangement is based off entirely of my own improvisation of the song. I notated whatever I felt during that moment. How well does it blend and resonate with you, the audiences, I do not know. Which is why there's the comment section :P
Regarding the sheet, I made a little mistake in the beginning by using 2/4 beat, then realized 32nd notes weren't enough so I had to covert to a 2/2 later. I fixed the sheet to account for 2/2 time, so everything should look a little less scary (maybe).
Some of you might have already realized on the visuals, and yes, I do manually adjust the note's behavior on Sibelius to try to make it as realistic as possible, hence all those excess dynamic / articulation markings. I did something similar with my Aria arrangement.

I CAN'T GET THIS THEME OF MY HEAD, MY CHILDOOD MEMORIES ARE RETURNNINGGGG
Hence, why I used my day off to transcribe. This piece took about 4 hours to notate, and 2 hours to finalize for the flute, and 2 hours to edit the video. Probably the fastest piece i've ever notated.
The flute was a totally random decision, because I kept looping and looping and looping the Rustboro theme in the background and thought, why not add something special to a 1 minute transcription? (becaus ending it on the 1st minute would be so sad) So, copy paste + random delet notes = flute. Coincidentally, I also made a piano accompaniment without even knowing it!
I'll provide the mp3 links respectively for the accompaniment if anyone's interested.
I do plan to notate a few more memorable pokemon soundtracks along the way, and eventually compile it into a medley (orchestra maybe? ) Let me know what you think =3

-As thanks, I made a full orchestra medley for Porter Robinson's - Shelter, as well as his Sad Machine. But this arrangement also serves another purpose, as it was written for the orchestra club i'm attending at my university (UTD-AOE),
-Hence, why it's notated in such a weird manner. Regarding the Euphonium and Horn, we have really good musicians for those instruments, so they could reach those higher pitches which are seen "red" on the score.
-This took an entire month to notate, as it is my first time working with instrumentation other than the piano. You might also notice that sometimes i've added rests for the brass and woodwinds to breath, but other times it's just totally neglected (lol). At present, it's being re-notated by UTDAOE's arrangers (yeap! each sectional leaders notate their own scores for the final concert each semester)

This piece started out randomly with me fiddling around with some rhythms, then it just gradually got to the point where I decided to finish it as a final semester project. I'm not entirely satisfied with some of the parts, because I kind of rushed this due to the fact that this was going to potentially be one of my "tossed and scrapped" ideas (hence the title). The reason for this is because my music composition lecturer is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to pitch choices, and she'll often ask us to add a "wrong" note on various occasions. (She also hates triads)
Contrary to the amount of "tossed" failures I had, I totally agree to her points. I personally have also started to hear various "sounds" I have perviously not been able to hear or distinguish. Starting from my arrangements this semester with Aria's opening theme - Undine and then my Kimi no na wa arrangement, I have tried various different ways to develop my technique further this semester to satisfy my own set of picky ears.

I've been inactive these past few months, due to various circumstances, like music composition in college , anime band performances and another upcoming Anime Orchestra performance of which i'm playing in later that's going to be live-streamed! (i'll paste the link if anyone's interested)
-About Kimi no Na Wa- I was, undoubtedly in awe with this movie. I will re-watch this again once the full release is out, because it's just that good! Makoto Shinkai does what a lot of directors don't, which is connecting all the fragile elements in a film and turning it into an emotional field trip that sustains itself through the movie. Additionally, RADWIMPS, a band which I have never heard of until kimi no na wa, just surprises me with their extremely simplified, totally normal sounding soundtracks into this movie. They're use of the guitars and vocals were the most noticeable for me, it's just mysteriously captivating.
-About this arrangement- Sparkle, starts with minimalism, and it continues for minutes and minutes to come. Although i'm not a fan of minimalism one bit, Radwimps has enticed me with their gradual shift with dynamics and especially, the rhythm. Because of that, It forces me to be inventive in various ways, difficult.. I will release a more simplified version after today.
Correct me though, but Yojiro (the vocalist), is singing in-between triplet counts, as seen in the sheet, which gives this piece, so much more depth to it than what you'll conventionally hear in music (I might have notated this wrongly? I'm not even sure anymore haha!) His voice is perfectly balanced for all the kimi-no-na-wa OSTs.
If you plan to watch Kimi no na wa, I encourage you to watch it with a bunch of friends, I had so much fun with my orchestra mates as we cried, laugh, jumped in anticipation during the entire length of the film. Also, let me know of how you enjoy the sound quality of this upload as compared to my others, i've had major issues bouncing them from logic because Pearl Concert Grand just emits weird static when the dynamics is less than pianisimo (very soft). Additionally, I was trying to achieve a sound balance comfortable to the ears in this upload, so that the repeated B, C# and F# notes don't sound too jarring or too sharp.
-Trivia- -This took a total of 3.5 weeks to arrange, lots of in-between procrastination and self-contempt because It didn't felt "good" enough, music composition lecturer also *dislikes* conventional music, so my mindset has been very post-modern style. -I originally wanted to upload this on Sunday evening, but then I had a fresh new idea for the ending, so bloop -I'm constantly trying to make my arrangements sound more "human" and less robotic, because that's the tendency of MIDI based arrangements. -Audio rendering on Monday gave me tons of headaches, because of the huge static in background -I have had at least 17 Vegas pro crashes when trying to edit this compilation -After Effects was not kind, I needed to wait 20 seconds to preview what the animations would've been like, therefore, I had to pre-render the audio spectrum, the time spectrum and the original source, finally compiling it seperately. - I was very OCD with the the thumbnail.
That's all I have for now, my next upload will probably be an original composition i'm working on for music composition which i'm taking this semester. (btw though, I love comments on my vids, it gives me motivation to create more of these sheets knowing that someone will watch it, I think all creators feel that way)

As some of you might've known, i'm taking music composition this semester and have not been uploading any real arrangements lately, there are a few reasons for this.
Originally, I had planned to finish Undine the week after returning from Brazil (yes, my parents brought me to the Olympics!) because, this song just kept playing over my head while I was touring South America, argh!
Then, since the beginning of the semester, and the start of music comp, i've been exposed to a wide variety of different forms of music by my lecturer, at the same time, i've been increasingly picky about my arrangement style, going through various old videos and nit picking/ self critiquing a lot. It all came down to the point where I was having an entire week of information overload, because I couldn't stop thinking about how I could make my arrangements sound more natural and less robotic while encompassing the new ideas i've learned in class.
So yea, I was musically burned out and I briefly took a break from playing the piano, and decided to play Badminton again (after a year) instead. Since then, my mind has been a clearer on what I want to put on the Sheets, and this upload is the result.
[ About the piece ]
I'm probably not going to get a lot of views from this, at the same time, I don't find interest in recent anime music as well, they all seem pretty, bland, to arrange. Nevertheless, this is probably one of my most satisfactory works in a long long time, since my Gunbuster piano Suite arrangement. While arranging this over the course of 5 weeks, I felt all sorts of different emotions during different times which i've actually sat down in-front of the piano to arrange this; calmness, sadness, dance, jolly and laughter.
About the little "surprise" extension towards the end of Undine, I had originally planned to end it with AQUA in C-major just before the coda, because the ending of Undine didn't feel satisfactory at all. I was honestly a little disappointed with Undine's ending, but after much improvisation and experimentation, I decided to go with a completely different resolution, that ends in a laborious F# major, oh F# major.
Needless to say, I may have ruined AQUA because it's been mixed with so many different types of ingredients, but nonetheless, I do hope you enjoy this arrangement of mine.

First off, this is a little birthday present to my sister. Which is also why the difficulty of this piece is extremely easy.
This piece took 5 minutes to improvise, 20 minutes to arrange and 4 hours to notate + finalize according to my sister's technical abilities.
I avoided as much 16th notes as much as possible because I don't think she'll be able to play it otherwise. But as you can see, this is my transcription style in its raw and simplest form, without any technical transitions or fillers.

With the arrival of Summer season anime and the departure of spring season anime (which had its disappointments and surprises) *cough Kabaneri* comes a brand new list of anime to watch!
Rewrite by Key Studios is one of them! During the 30th minute of the 1st episode of Rewrite, many familiar soundtracks from the Visual novel were played through. Being one of the many that has read the Rewrite Visual Novel before, this certainly strikes a familiar recollection to those enjoyable soundtracks 2 years ago. Sadly, before I could finish the common route, my pc needed an urgent reformat. .... Oh well.
I'll probably re-download the VNs in the near future to finish all the routes, because I doubt the anime will deliver.
I initially planned a double upload featuring another Rewrite OST before the final weeks of my semester, but I was bombarded with tons of technical issues with Kontakt and Sibelius. Bummer.
I'm also experimenting with my Pearl Concert Grand VST sounds, let me know in the comments on what you think. My primary concern is clarity and lightness of the piano, sometimes too much of each becomes rather discomforting to the ears.
Lastly, i've significantly decreased the difficulty of my sheets as my previous upload was a finger blitzkrieg. I'm also using an actual grand piano in my university more frequently to compare how my style would sound like on an actual grand than on a keyboard (I basically abuse my keyboard a lot, since I love demi-semi-quaver spams)

Hello everyone, this past week has been a nostalgia trip for me as I transcribed one of the first anime OSTs I played on the Piano that got me back to enjoy playing the instrument.

Here's the short version:
I come from a chinese family. So naturally, we're all forced to take an instrument or two when we're young. Not me though, I took it based on interest at the age of 7. I Initially didn't like the piano because it was a chore, in fact, I hated it. Practicing all those classical / baroque pieces and nothing else while doing repetitive theory homeworks without even knowing their worth. Year after year we take piano exams, learn 3 new pieces, get a grade, and thats it. - Learning the piano in a nutshell.
I quit learning the piano completely just before I started ABRSM grade 6. I stopped for 2 - 3 years to focus on high-school.
But on that faithful day of April 2012, I stumbled across Guilty Crown (yes, it wasn't the "best anime" out there), But I was immediately captivated by those short 22 episodes, which made me an anime fan ever since. At that time, I was simply captivated by the opening and ending theme. It was so melodically rich, the accompaniments of the violins and Ryo's piano was very enticing to my musical senses which were built up throght the years. I cried at the end of those 22 episodes when Inori sacrificed herself for Shu and when Chelly started singing "Departures", it was an emotional moment for me, as it was my first time being exposed to non-mainstream anime. Unlike the Naruto's or Bleach that were always shown on television.
Immediately after that, I hurried to youtube and searched up the song. And there it was, DEPARTURES - PIANO by TEHISHTER. - FREE PIANO SHEET

I didn't know those two amazing pianists that time, so naturally, I clicked on both their videos and my musical life changed, forever. Can you imagine that? THESE TWO WERE ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. Like, How could the piano sound so beautiful? It was absolutely captivating and life changing. Not to forget the amazing people doing this FOR FREE. Kind people do exist in this world. The first piece I ever played was Tehishter's arrangement of Departures.
The second piece I learned was Entrupe by animenz (though i've forgotten how to play both due to college, and over time, you forget the old songs you play as you learn new ones)

This transcription came about last week, when "Departures" played on my playlist. I cried instantly at the beauty of Chelly's voice (again). Even without remembering the lyrics completely, her voice radiates the emotions of the lyrics. Immediately without hastle, I started transcribing. I had to. I wanted to.
I clearly remembered failing so many times to improvise a full version before dinhosaurrx~ did, (it was also before I learned how to transcribe, or play by ear) I was disappointed.
But here it is, my rendition of EGOIST's Departures. I apologize for the insane level of difficulty, but this was what came to mind when I was arranging this piece on the piano. First off, Thank you for 100 subscribers and 14.5k views! As an appreciation and thanks, I have made a bonus upload from the Fire Emblem Series - Genei Ibunroku #FE, Feel by Oribe Tsubasa, which also happens to be voiced by Minase Inori! (Really though, if you don't know her, go do a quick google search and listen to her healing voice)
"Feel" has been in my head since November 2015, yes, that long, and i've wanted to transcribe this for a long, long time. But since it's not a popular title unlike the main fire emblem series, I've had my doubts if it'll be worth the time and effort to do this sheet in the first place, plus I was occupied with Snow Halation at that time. This goes for a lot of transcribers, they want to do something creative, yet we're always self conscious about the views or subscribers that we'll be getting or would have gotten if we had done a popular airing series.
Fortunately, this song was just too good to be left alone. While transcribing Azura's theme, Lost in thoughts all alone, this came as a surprising side project! It was the first time I did 2 transcriptions back to back. Since Azura's theme was a huge huge huge challenge, and there was a shortage of ideas, I frequently turned to a different melody like Feel to refreshen my ideas from time to time. Surprising enough, you might even say this transcription was way more creative than Hitori Omou (i'll just call it this for now, the English title is way too long).
This piece also happened to be one of my more enjoyable transcriptions, and arranging it was fun. Despite the chord progression of the song being rather simplistic compared to a lot of songs I transcribe, the melody, tune and the guitars never seem to get old! I've listen to this song for over 60+ times much as I can remember (probably more), because Inori's voice has so much healing to my exhausted soul! (lol)
As for the game that's going to be released for the Wii in the west, well... sorry folks, SJW's are everywhere.

After 6 long months, and a terribly busy semester, I have found the time to create this arrangement.
But firstly, I got to thank my anime-orchestra mates from UTDallas for making me such a huge fan of the fire emblem franchise *stareeee*. Our student-run anime orchestra also played this piece during one of our performances in May. It also just so happens that we performed this exact same song during the concert.
Which was what gave me the initial feels, motivating me to transcribe this bittersweet melody sung by Azura in fire emblem fates. In all honesty, hitori omou has some of the best instrumentals you'll ever ask for. It just resonates so nicely with the melody.
However, there was a particular part of the melody which just didn't work with me at all, (bars 30 - 36 ). It's the part where Azura sings " Hikari e te o nobasu / Reaching out to the light". Initially, the first play through was okay, then the second repeat started to throw my musical senses off a little. Hence, why the I added an original part substituting the 3rd repeat.
I also found the ending unjustifiable and was not quiet satisfied. I hurdled in my corner for days thinking on new ideas for those particular bars. And in the end, I decided to go with a "lullaby" melody of the chorus, ending it sweetly. Its all experimental, let me know in the comments on what you think.
Lastly, I have played and completed both Birthright and Conquest routes just recently. Transitioning from Birthright to Conquest, where you sided with Nohr against your Hoshidan siblings was literally an arrow in your kokoro. IT HIT ME SO HARD, THOSE DIALOGUES NAILED RIGHT INTO MY FEELS. Merry Christmas! It's 24th of December here and nearing the 25th in a mere few minutes~ While the year 2015 ending and 2016 coming in a few days, i'm happy say that 2015 has been a rather accomplishing year for me. I clearly remembered my trip to Japan last year in 2014 exactly one year ago, there I had the privilege to travel to Japan for a second time with my family and it was truly a memorable time in which I still clearly remember today. It's also exactly one year and 4 months since I started my transcription hobby. I originally had planned to do Snow Halation transcription last year, but due to time constraints and my limited knowledge on transcription that time, I was not able to achieve the same results as I have today. Not to forget i'm now studying abroad in Texas and i'm really enjoying my time here while meeting a lot of people with common interest. (Anime Orchestra Ensemble ya!)
This transcription was rather simple, because the original song was mainly leagato and the passages were very smooth and easy to improvise and I quickly had an idea right away on what I wanted to do with Snow Halation.
The original song had a lot of background ambient sound that resonates fantastically with the vocals of μ’s members. Particular the catchy melody, the guitar solo and the violins (oooooooooh the violins). I wanted to incorporate something that blended all those elements together. I experimented a little with piano solo and it didn't turn up as well as I projected in my head / tried to play it out. Because of that "ambient" sound from the background music, it makes it incredibly challenging for a single piano to achieve that alone.
If that was the case, why not two pianos? I was a little skeptical at first, because (there always has to be a way right?) well... maybe... but I wanted to experiment with something a little different especially since the last time I did a piano duet was on TerraFormars opening 1 - Lightning.
I made some improvements to the sound quality (at least i hope i did :3) by overlaying 5 layers. 2 layers for the 2nd piano and 3 layers for the 1st piano while trying out the 3D surround sound feature in Vegas Pro. The problem I still have is having too much bass with the VST pianos. The ones I used for this video are ; Phillharmonik and Pearl Concert grand. (if anyone uses Pearl Concert, please poke me right away!, still looking for the perfect pre-sets)
Lastly, this is just a little something for all the love live fans out there that are aware that u's is going to disband after their final live ;_;.... while aquos will be the next generation, they will never be the same as u's NEVER ;_;

One of my most challenging transcriptions ever written, also one of the hardest to notate due to the complexity of the chords during the transition of the bridge. I also wanted to encapsulate most of the despair being faced by Ed during this memorable second episode of FMA:B, it's also very symbolic and can be closely referenced to real life events analogically speaking. Hence, the insanely hard notes in the transcription.
I've recently also started my first semester at University of Texas at Dallas studying Arts and Technology, if anyone happens to run by the campus hook me up :(|)
Right after my trip to Japan, I really wanted to transcribe the ending theme of Terra Formars the most (It was frequently played in the animestores in japan, and I wanted to do it back in october, exams, meh.) plus, it just sounds like a rocket takeoff (I love blast-offs)
Sadly Terraformars didn't live up to my expectations as it did in the manga, the whole show was dragged and dramatise. Still, in loving memory of Adolf Reinhard for dying for humanity ;_; (Also, Eva is best girl)
Why a piano duet you may wonder.. Simply because the arpeggios in the chorus is a must, and I wanted the sound to resonate even HARDER which a piano solo cannot achieve. Consequently this cost me 4 weeks and very frequent ripple slumps as a complicated/ fast piece like this takes a lot off your brain... and it's 2 pianos.... hieh....
Well anyway I hope you'll enjoy 4 weeks worth of blitzkrieg, this will be the first and last time i'll do something this crazy. Sheets will be uploaded on sheethost soon as soon as I find the freagging "User Login" link which ironically isn't present on the site.
First off, happy new year! Secondly, no im not dead. Thirdly, ごめんなさい!for the inactiveness for the past 3 months. (stuff happened, oh and I got a chance to visit Japan (again!, yay!)).
Anyway, the usuals except one, Sibelius plays for me andddddd this was my very first piano transcription. I uploaded the sheets 5 months ago but decided not to do a vid of it since I did not expect it to view anyway. Nevertheless, this could be one of my easiest / playable sheet ever made so far.
Plus if you noticed, I've recently got sick of the general midi and decided to spend 9 hours on researching, cracking VST (yes pardon me im cheap). The VST pack is Philharmonik classic addition (the actual price for this is over 9999999), well ITS TOO EXPENSIVE. It sounds amazing, however my recording still sucks. So i'll wait till another time for an audio improvement (suggestions? im using quicktime's screen recorder + soundflower for the input)
One final thing, hopefully by next week, you should see one, if not two new uploads with (possibly) improved sound. Well thats all for now~
First and foremost, I did not originally plan to transcribe Unravel. But then again I started notating down one note and .... it just went on. A few things about this sheet, it's not really a completely accurate transcription of the original unravel, rather it's more of an arrangement. Since I (forgotten) to note the bridge that starts from:
kawatte shimatta kaerarenakatta futatsu ga karamaru futari ga horobiru kowaseru kowasenai kurueru kuruenai anata wo kegasenai yo yureta
... yea I conveniently forgotten to note it down and I have no idea why I did what I did on bar 26 instead... the other thing is this is one of my hardest-ever written sheets, aside from the crazy tempo which is already hard to notate in Sibelius itself, Unravel isnt very, "tempo-friendly" for me. Hence, the crazy black dots and urobutcher beams.
Lastly this is an "insane" rated transcription by me so unless you have sufficent musical experience playing this piece is... not impossible but the fillers is just a no-no. Nevertheless this took me an entire month to transcribe because of my very first "Slump" which hit me quiet badly, hence the delayed upload.
Anyway I hope you'll enjoy the midi at least :S I do appreciate feedback on the comments (harsh/brute/commend maybe? :S) You are free to modify the sibelius file in any way you want but it'll be nice if you'll credit me :3

*ahmm..* I think this is one of the best spin-off's i've ever seen so far. Despite all the HNGGGG and being a l̶o̶l̶i̶ cute chibi fan myself, Kaleid provides some of the most straight-forward, badass mahou shoujou (magical girl) fights of all time.
This is my second transcription on Sibelius!(first one yet to upload) My style is heavily inspired by Animenz and my motivation for transcription came after his concert to Malaysia, KL!
I could play this piece on the piano and upload it..but.... I get bored very easily and I have no commitment to practice (my perk is sightreading) therefore, lots of mistakes. Secondly I do not have a recording equipment of any sort... I do have a Kurzweill PCK 3 digital performance keyboard and a Kawaii upwright piano, but the direct audio feed to my computer just isn't working for some reason (╯°Д°)╯︵/(.□ . \).
