Instead, it didn’t quite go to plan. In this video, I share my honest experience purchasing the 37mm Grand Seiko Snowflake in high-intensity titanium with the 9F62 quartz movement, what happened when I noticed an issue with the seconds hand alignment, and how it affected the overall moment. This isn’t a rant — it’s an honest reflection on luxury watch buying and why the experience matters just as much as the watch itself. Would you have handled it differently? Is It Really Boring?Jags Watches2026-09-12 | The Rolex Explorer is the watch everyone calls boring — and that's exactly why I love it.
I wore my Rolex Explorer 36 (Ref. 124270, Oystersteel, 36mm, £6,600) as my ONLY watch for 2 weeks in Canada to see if it could truly do it all — from hiking in Vancouver to trying a £125k F.P. Journe. One watch, every situation. Here’s my 1-month review.

Honorable mentions: my Seiko alarm piece, the Omega x Swatch Mission to Saturn Moonswatch, and my Omega x Swatch Blancpain collab.
Sold this year: my birth-year Omega Seamaster Ref. 2531.80, my Grand Seiko SBGX355 (bought in Japan on my honeymoon), and my Breitling Top Time Ref. 2002 — the first watch I ever bought myself.
My core five now: the Omega Seamaster No Time To Die (on a brand new strap from Uncle Strap), my Vertex M36 Bronze, my Cartier Santos 100, the wildcard — a JLC Albatross in 32mm quartz — and the newest and current daily, my Rolex Explorer 36.

It was bought for my wedding and was also the watch that helped start my watch-collecting journey and this channel. However, the bracelet and clasp have become my biggest frustrations. In this video, I'm challenging that narrative — because the evidence tells a very different story. From the ignored warnings of 1876, to the post-war race to the bottom, to the extraordinary case of Switzerland actually inventing quartz technology and somehow making it commercially irrelevant — the quartz crisis wasn't a surprise attack on a healthy industry. It was a finishing blow to one that had been unravelling for a century. This is the real history of the Swiss watch industry. A central tourbillon for $2,699. I can't believe it either.
The CIGA Design Everest Summit features a self-developed central tourbillon (caliber CD-05), a dial carved from genuine Everest bedrock, Grade 5 titanium construction, and a 120-hour power reserve — all for under $3,000.
In this review I cover everything that's incredible about this watch, and the one big reason I can't wear it.

#CIGADesign #Tourbillon #CentralTourbillon #EverestSummit #WatchReview #AffordableTourbillon #WatchCollectingAm I Keeping My First Grand Seiko? The Honest Truth After 3 MonthsJags Watches2026-06-27 | I've owned my Grand Seiko SBGX355 for over 3 months. But I've only actually worn it for one of them.
Month 1 — I wasn't sure it was going to be replaced after the dial alignment issue. Month 2 — it was in for service. Month 3 — I finally got to wear it.
So this is my honest 1 month on the wrist review. The good, the not so good, and the big question — am I keeping it?
THE GOOD • Case size and proportions — close to perfect • The 9F movement — since the service, hasn't lost a single second • That dial — genuinely one of the best dials at this price • Grade 5 titanium — lighter than you'd believe • The thick clasp — surprisingly made it more comfortable
THE NOT SO GOOD • The Zaratsu polishing — too shiny for a true daily wearer • Centre link polishing — not for me aesthetically • No micro-adjust — on a £4,000 watch, this isn't good enough
WILL I KEEP IT? That's a complicated answer. And it involves a Rolex Explorer.
⏱️ CHAPTERS 00:00 – 3 Months on. 00:56 – The SBGX355 — quick recap 02:03 – What I genuinely love 06:37 – What I don't love: the Zaratsu shine problem on a daily wearer 08:44 – The no micro-adjust issue. 10:12 – Will I keep it? The honest answer

Not just because of the watches, but because of the person behind them.
Before we get there: a priority pass that still had a queue, a goody bag full of keyrings, two very welcome drinks, a pre-show burger, and my mate's Explorer 36 on my wrist. That's how you start a watch show day.
Then: Atelier Wen (including a £27k tantalum piece that genuinely floored me), Wren's Seafoam diver, Oris Star Edition, Grandeur's sapphire case, Furlan Marri's mechanical chronograph, RZE's unreleased green, Bedaa's jumping hours, Maghnam's Noor, Arsène Lippens' fabric dials, and the criminally underrated Frédérique Constant.
And then — Serica.
