The TRUTH about the Fake SRAM Wheeltop EDS China Cycling 2022-08-05 | A quick video to clear up what's been going on with the Wheeltop EDS. This is the Chinese wireless mountain bike shifting system that I showcased at the Shanghai bike show this year. It's now in near-final form and they sent me a set to check out. The same day I received mine I saw @gmbntech made a video with a bit of a click-baity FAKE SRAM thumbnail. Turns out one third-party seller on AliExpress was trying to pass the EDS system off as something it's not. When I showed Wheeltop, they blacklisted that seller and reminded all their other sellers not to try fool people.As for the unit itself, first impressions seem solid. I've just put it on my son's MTB and will be getting him to give it a good thrashing. I'll also check it out and then make a proper video about it in the coming weeks. The fit of these bottles into the cage is pretty awful. The fit of the lid on the bottle is equally rubbish. Water leaks out the gap between the lid and the bottle. Hopefully they provide a decent aero boost, because as a water bottle, they don't have much else going for them,

I've seen smart helmets before, but never really paid much attention to them. Apparently Livall have been doing this for 7yrs with over 170 patents around them. They sent me a couple of their helmets over to check out and I threw together my first impressions in this video. This video is a bit rough around the edges and maybe a little rushed because I was trying to get it done while the crowd-funding indiegogo is still going. There are some great bargains in there. Being a mostly business-to-business trade show, and with most jersey brands being direct-to-consumer here in China; it wasn't a great prospect for most of the brands. How to get EPIC bike footage in 2021 - Insta360 ONE X2 China Cycling 2021-04-06 | store.insta360.com/springsale2021?insrc=INRA1YI^ Save upto 40% off before April 8th!A quick overview / review of the Insta360 X2 for cyclists. This is now my go-to camera for on-bike footage. The 360 nature opens up so many options for shots. It also means the stabilization is silky-smooth. You can ride the roughest of terrain and the footage seemingly glides over everything. The only downside compared to a traditional action cam like a GoPro 9 or a DJI Osmo Pocket (Or the Insta360 1inch mod) is the resolution. Because you're taking a crop of a larger image, the resolution suffers. However, I think for most people watching on mobile, this isn't a huge issue. I think the epic stabilization and the variety of shots you can get more than make up for it.Disclaimer: I was a paying Insta360 customer before they approached me to make this video. Insta360 R - Why NorCal Cycling was wrong China Cycling 2020-11-01 | So, I bought an Insta360 R mere hours before @NorCalCycling reviewed it on his channel. When I saw the comparison to the GoPro Hero 8 in his video I was gutted. It seemed I'd bought an absolute useless lemon. However, upon receiving my unit and testing it myself. It turns out the stabilization is a super quick fix that just involves either downloading a plug-in for premiere to allow Premiere to use the gyroscope data, or processing the video files via the app.After viewing Jeff's footage and using the camera myself, it's obvious he's using the MP4 files straight out the camera without the plug-in installed that allows Premiere to use the gyroscope data to stabilize the footage. This makes a HUGE difference to the overall quality of the video, so I thought it was worth mentioning.Everything else Jeff said about the camera pretty much still reigns true. This is (was) my most-ridden bike ever, and the one that I used as my main bike for three and a half years. Unfortunately it met it's end when it was ran over by the truck that broke my leg last September. I'm not sure if I miss the bike, or I miss riding on the bike without having titanium in my leg. Bike Build - Winspace SLC w/ SRAM Force eTap AXS Disc (Thats a long name...) China Cycling 2020-02-09 | I got a new studio! (More on that in an update video coming soon) So to test out the studio I just grabbed a frame and grabbed a groupset and threw them together. These are probably the kind of videos I like editing the most. Just find a chill beat and try drop a relaxing edit. I did one a few years ago for my Allez Sprint. This bike was built just for practicing taking videos and photos, so you'll notice I didn't use a torque wrench and not every step of the build was recorded so it's not supposed to be a how-to of bike building.
