The legendary Pokemon's theme always was a favorite of mine, if not for the dramatic use of percussion to strike fear into the hearts of many, then for the fact that the song demonstrated effective use of empty space as a primary driver of the overall theme. As you can immediately tell, I took inspiration from the B/W bass, and modeled my bass after it (not a direct copy paste though, I know how to make a unique bass sequence, haha). Original Composition AND Literature: Linda Lala19357 - The Zephyr 2011-05-06 | Now, you may be wondering why on earth this video starts off with a title and has Chris R. with Lala19357 in parenthesis. Well, if you don't know by now, I am Chris R. (R will not be released here, for privacy reason, ahaha!) This is an original composition AND original poetry for a school assignment (the class is a combined History and English study, appropriately called "Advanced American Studies", or AAS."Well, why on earth would you write a song for an English/History class, Chris?" The assignment was called a "Transactional Reading Journal", in which I am given a huge list in which I could pick 5 tasks that I am supposed to complete. 2 of the tasks listed involved creating an original writing and original artwork (music included), so naturally the music came, followed by the writing. The book is called "The Things They Carried", and I would highly advise that you read it. WARNING: BOOK SPOILERS BELOW. If you don't want to hear about a specific portion of the book, stop reading now.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I chose to write this free-verse poem to suit the story of a love between two 9-year children, one of them being the storyteller, a little boy, and the other being a cancer patient with a brain tumor, a little girl with a red hat. It may seem strange that I mention that red hat, but look out for it in the poem. The story goes on, with the author talking about his love for the girl, then discovering that she has died. The grief that sets in is almost overwhelming, yet he maintains composure. The author still claims to love the girl, even to the present day (in which he is 43 years old). He manages to find some way to cope with his loss of a friend, and above all, a true love. And yes, the girl is named Linda.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I am not usually very sappy, but I tried to dish it out with this piece, in a wild attempt to capture the emotions that I felt when reading this book. It's impact is powerful, and by sharing this with you all, I hope to demonstrate the true power of music and literature, especially when combined.Both the music and poem are by me. Since they act in the same manner that Frontier Brains do, I remastered one of my favorite DPPt/HGSS themes, the theme of the Frontier Brain. Enjoy!P.S.
