Food Safe, Kid Safe & Low Emission Filament ExplainedAustins Lab2026-07-31 | Bambu Lab has released an all-new filament called PLA Pure, and it isn't just another PLA. It's designed from the ground up to be one of the cleanest and safest 3D printing filaments currently available.
In this video, I take a look at everything that makes Bambu Lab PLA Pure unique, including its food-contact certified ingredients, UL GREENGUARD low-emission certification, and EU toy safety certification, making it an exciting option for creators printing toys, household items, organizers, educational models, and more.
In this video you'll learn: What makes PLA Pure different from standard PLA Why its five-ingredient formula matters What "food-contact certified ingredients" actually means UL GREENGUARD 2904 low-emission certification explained EN 71 toy safety certification explained How PLA Pure compares to PLA Basic Print quality, strength, and layer adhesion Stringing and nozzle clog improvements RFID support with the Bambu AMS Who should (and shouldn't) use PLA Pure
One of the biggest differences is that every ingredient in PLA Pure—from the base resin to the pigments—is individually certified for EU food-contact standards, rather than only testing the finished spool. It also carries UL GREENGUARD 2904 certification, indicating very low indoor printing emissions, and EN 71-3 toy safety certification, making it suitable for printed toys and everyday household objects when used appropriately.
Important: While the filament itself is designed and certified with food-contact-safe materials, the safety of a finished 3D print depends on many factors, including your printer, nozzle cleanliness, print environment, and post-processing. Be sure to follow Bambu Lab's official guidance before using printed parts for food-contact applications.

In this video, I'll show you how to use ChatGPT's image editing tools to transform a simple photo of your 3D print into a stunning studio-quality product image. The best part? The actual model remains unchanged while ChatGPT upgrades the background, lighting, and overall presentation to create professional marketing photos perfect for Etsy, MakerWorld, eBay, websites, social media, and more.
Whether you're selling 3D prints, showcasing your designs, or simply want better-looking photos, this AI workflow can save you hours of editing.
Before editing the image, ask the user these questions:
What background would you like? (Example: professional studio, workshop, office desk, marble countertop, forest, industrial factory, white seamless backdrop, luxury showroom, etc.) Would you like to change the color of the 3D model? (Yes/No) If yes, what color would you like the model to be?
IMAGE EDITING INSTRUCTIONS:
Transform the uploaded image into a professional product photography image.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:
DO NOT modify, redesign, reshape, reposition, rotate, scale, smooth, repair, enhance, or alter the 3D model itself in any way. Preserve the model exactly as it appears in the original image. Maintain the exact same perspective, camera angle, orientation, proportions, details, textures, imperfections, layer lines, geometry, and overall appearance of the model. Do not add, remove, or modify any features of the model. Keep the model in the exact same position within the frame. Only modify the background and lighting.
BACKGROUND:
Replace the existing background with the user-specified background. Create a realistic, high-end professional product photography environment that matches the requested setting. Ensure the background looks natural and believable.
LIGHTING:
Add professional studio-quality lighting. Create realistic shadows and reflections appropriate to the environment. Improve the overall presentation while keeping the model unchanged.
COLOR CHANGE RULE:
Only change the color of the 3D model if the user specifically requested a color change. If no color change was requested, preserve the original model color exactly. When changing color, only change the color material while preserving every other aspect of the model.
FINAL GOAL: Create a premium, professional product photograph while keeping the uploaded 3D model completely unchanged except for an optional user-requested color change.3D Printing the VIRAL AP x Swatch CollabAustins Lab2026-05-22 | In today’s video, I’m creating a custom 3D printed version inspired by the viral AP x Swatch collaboration that has been blowing up online. We start by using ChatGPT to generate an AI image idea, then turn that image into a 3D model using MakerWorld MakerLab’s AI image-to-3D tool. After that, I’ll show you how to simplify the mesh so the model can actually be imported into Tinkercad without lagging or crashing.
Once the model is cleaned up, we use my custom flexi cutter template to slice articulated joints directly into the model, transforming it into a fully flexible 3D printable flexi toy!
This method lets you create completely unique flexi animals, dragons, creatures, and custom articulated prints that nobody else has. Perfect for beginners and advanced makers alike.
🔥 In this tutorial you’ll learn: • How to generate AI toy concepts with ChatGPT • How to convert AI images into 3D models • How to simplify STL meshes for Tinkercad • How to create articulated flexi joints • How to make custom flexi creatures for 3D printing • How to prepare AI-generated models for printing
Prompt: Create a high-quality product-style 3D render of a simplified Goldfish figure in a smooth, chunky vinyl toy style. The figure must be shown in perfect left-side orthographic profile (no perspective distortion at all), positioned completely flat along the ground in a straight horizontal line from head to tail. The entire model must be one continuous solid piece — no joints, seams, gaps, hinges, or articulation points anywhere. The body should appear fully fused and unified. The pose should be low and relaxed, with the body flattened slightly against the ground, similar to a stylized “resting” pose. Legs (if visible) should be simplified and merged into the form where appropriate, avoiding separation between parts. Use soft, rounded shapes with minimal detail, no sharp edges, and a clean silhouette. Surface should be smooth matte plastic, with subtle soft lighting and no visible layer lines, texture artifacts, or imperfections. Eyes should be simple and minimal (small dots or embossed shapes). No complex textures. Background must be pure white studio background, evenly lit, with a faint soft shadow beneath the figure. The final image should look like a clean product render of a solid toy prototype.
