She did an outstanding job of decorating our house, but I noticed a few blank spots and thought "something needs to go there." So I purchased a lot of wall art, and had some custom made. And some of them are pictures I took myself. Well, all of the slides in the video I took myself, but the content in the slides is not mine in most cases. The conference focused on two themes, educating African children about the Gospel, and clean water provision. Clean water is hard to come by in many parts of Africa. Especially because this is my first Mother's Day without the mother of my children, to whom I was married for 45 years, and she was the mother of two wonderful children. I attended Celebration Church in Meadow Vista on Mother's Day, and the pastor/worship leader, LouAnn Lee, an established Christian singer/songwriter/musician/speaker/author/angel, sang this touching song along with a little girl who has the touching name of Hope. Ah. so sweet. This is a mommy/daughter song that LouAnn wrote, called "You Are My Ministry." Sob. Sob.
Celebration Church, Meadow Vista, California, Mothers Day 2022 Bob Marshall 2022-05-09 | I attended the Mother's Day service at Celebration Church in the Sierra foothills town of Meadow Vista. A quaint country church co-pastored by LouAnn Lee and her husband Cedric Lee. She invited two young girls, April and Monique, who are looking to become mommies to come up to the stage, and she had a wonderful message to share with them and with the congregation. When she finished her talk she invited her young friend Hope to come to the stage and they did a duet for a mommy/daughter song that LouAnn wrote, called "You Are My Ministry." Aw, the tears sure flowed for me.

Well, your luck just ran out, I'm back again. Yeah, I know, you can see the same clouds from your yard if you live in my area in Cool. But you don't have the pretty music to accompany them. The music is Gary Jess, from Washington State, playing his song "Harvest" from the album "Returning Home." If you've never heard of Gary Jess, I highly suggest you check him out. All of his music is instrumental, piano and strings mostly. If you visit High Hand Nursery in Loomis, the music they usually play as you walk through the gardens is Gary's music. So beautiful. Anne Wilson/Hillary Scott - Mamas Bob Marshall 2022-05-08 | Wow, wow, wow. This is one of the most finely crafted songs I have ever heard. Anne Wilson, with Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum singing background vocals (That's Anne on the right in the opening slide, Hillary on the left.) And the instrumentation is wonderful, too. This is a perfect song. And my video for it is perfectly timed, right in time for Mother's Day. Mother's Day is tough for me this year, my first Mother's Day without the mother of my children, who passed away in January after 45 years of marriage. But I still feel her presence. I will honor her as best I can on Mother's Day.

Most of them are not actually at Zephyr Point, they are from side trips that a friend of mine took. One of them is a place called Scheel's, which is a huge version of Bass Pro Shop. We also went to Virginia City. And some of the other pictures were in the Donner Summit area. Beautiful day. God's glory was everywhere. I regret that I did not take any pictures of the men at the retreat. What was I thinking? It's a men's retreat! And I did not take any pictures of the men! Stupid.

Wall Art Bob Marshall 2022-04-09 | Yep. More wall art that I have recently put up at my house since my wife passed away. She did all of the decorating, but I noticed some blank spaces on the walls and decided to fill them in. Not to the point of clutter, everything is evenly spaced. But it's refreshing to me. Here is an adaptation made by Trans-Siberian Orchestra with some lyrics thrown in, sung by a children's choir. Since the vocals were by children, I decided to use pictures of children in my video. 2021 Hope Valley, California and vicinity - Fall color Bob Marshall 2021-10-10 | My wife and I took a trip to a beautiful area of California called Hope Valley. It's about 15 miles south of Lake Tahoe, and south of US50. The scenery was very pretty, but we didn't catch the fall color of the trees at its peak. And not everything was pretty; we had to drive through the scorched terrain of the recent Caldor fire, which burned 223,000 acres of the El Dorado Forest. So sad to see. Here are some pictures I took, including some of the burned area.
Israel Kamakawiwoʻole (Iz) - Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World Bob Marshall 2021-10-07 | Israel Kamakawiwoʻole (who thankfully went by the name of "Iz" for short) was a Hawaiian musical legend. He passed away in 1997 at the age of 38. His name means "the fearless eye, the bold face." Here is a video I made for his well-known rendition of the medley "Over The Rainbow" and "What A Wonderful World." Yes, Iz was a part of making this a "wonderful world."

The song is from their debut album "Holy Water." The song was written by Ed Cash. That's his daughter Franni Rae singing lead vocals. Ed's brother Scott is also in the band, along with his son Martin. Long-time friend Andrew Bergthold rounds out the band. Good job!

2021 Maui Vacation Bob Marshall 2021-09-12 | Escaped the California smoke for a week, although we were unable to escape Covid. Still, a nice trip. Here are some pics I took. We only visited Maui this time. Kauai remains our favorite, but Maui is a close second.
